Chad, the owner, could not have been more helpful without intruding in any way during our stay. The lake is stocked, which made for many hours of delight as our grandchildren's first fishing experience. The renovated cabins are surprisingly chic and super comfy. It was great to have the kitchenette, though local restaurants are within a quick drive. The location is great: right off the main highway but quiet and really picturesque with the pretty little lake, (really a pond,) filled with ducks and geese and their chicks--and where the owner provides kayaks and canoes for your use. A covered picnic-barbecue area is perfect for reunions or just a casual cookout. We loved this property and will return ASAP!

I don't really know what happened but when talking with one of the owners (the wife) and apologizing for whatever went wrong she "got in my face" and asked how I liked it. For the record, I did not like it, especially with her face less than 5 inches from mine as she asjefThis was after the other owner (the husband) invited an angry and intoxicated guest to "go ahead and hit me." The guest was not acting appropriately but I don't believe the owner's reaction was appropriate either. Two wrongs don't make a right. We were in our cabin cleaning up for our 10 AM checkout so I don't know how the drama started. They said that we didn't know the back story of working with the couple (my brother and his new wife). They are right. I don't know. I do know they paid a lot of money to rent the entire venue for the weekend. I'm not sure what went wrong. Also, our cabin has a loft where my oldest son slept. The floor is SUPER creaky. My wife and I joked that it sounds like a balloon animal factory. There is no air conditioning in cabin 5 and it got very hot by evening. We slept with the windows open and the cabin was very cold in the middle of the night. It stayed cool during the morning and early afternoon but got very uncomfortable as the evening progressed. Before I was aware of any issues, the owners were helpful in directing us where to go in town for groceries and an oil change.
