Awesomely fun and competitive time. Our instructor, Erin, did a superb job setting up our corporate event and getting us started. We had all the supplies needed: a bib, paint, brushes, canvas, easel, a drying station, and any extra supplies. This made for a very easy and pleasant experience. The instructor walks you through each step, but you get to add your own interpretation to it. Overall you get a great painting to take home. Parking, finding the storefront itself, and getting in are super easy. Would recommend to people of any skill level to try this out. read more

I attended my very 1st Painting With A Twist event and I had so much fun! I have ZERO painting/drawing skills so at 1st I was a little worried on how my experience would be BUT you don't need any artist skills at all to have a great experience at Painting w/ A Twist. For sure I would totally recommend this for a date night or a girls night..it really is something fun but different! Since "sharing is caring" here are a few of my LIKES and HELPFUL TIPS.. LIKES: -no artistic skills needed..they literally give you a canvas w/ a drawn pattern on it so you just have to paint it..easy peasy! :) and the instructor on hand was awesome! -I really liked how relaxed and laid back everything was. I did the Paint Your Pet session, and it was so much fun! I was so worried that mine would turn out to be garbage - it was starting to look like Krusty the Clown with all of the blue, but the teacher was amazing, patient, and was able to help out a lot. This was wonderful because everyone was painting something completely different, so it took a lot of help more than a traditional class would -- I think anyway. This was the first time I've ever visited a Painting with a Twist class. I think now that I know the techniques a little more, it'll be easier next time. read more

A woman on my team at work took the initiative to organize a group outing (praise her because trying to get my team to do anything at the same time is like trying to herd cats) and decided on Painting With A Twist. Some back story: we are all adults working in the insurance industry and so needless to say, we are not artistic at all. Like not even a pretend little bit. I was in when I heard about the drinking policy because me and alcohol were meant to be together and nothing will ever tear us apart. Show up, around about on time (herding cats remember?) and are told we are the only group that night. Awesome!!! Rachel was our fearless leader and was super helpful in making sure everything was set up and we had all we needed. We decided on Window in Tuscany. Lovely artwork and super cute for any situation. I decided when this was being planned that I NEEDED there to be dinosaurs inside my painting in one form or another. Rachel heard about this plan and you could tell she realized at that exact moment what every supervisor I have ever had *manage* me eventually learns: There is a storm a-comin. We get down to business and it is honestly going surprisingly well. We are looking approximately like we might know what we are doing under Rachel's helpful guidance. We run a bit long (remember cats) but we are never made to feel like we were being rushed or that she needs us to go so she can sit in a dark corner and rock while she weeps silently over the choices she has made that brought her to this point. I manage to work in my t-rex and velociraptor and am inordinately proud of that fact and we get some photos. She had also taken photos of us throughout the process so we can look back and see when we all said "f it, we do what we want". I have already scheduled to go back with my bestie so I don't have to be on my best behavior. 16/10 would recommend. read more

I am not an artist or even somewhat creative. That gene was given to my mom and my sister. Boo! Damn those family genes!! Now, I have been to a painting while drinking event before. It was actually at a Yelp Event in Northern Virginia. My painting was beyond horrible but I blamed my lack of artistic skills, wanting to socialize too much, and also the copious amount of booze I had consumed at the event. This place you are allowed to BYOB and snacks. This time I took action and decided to learn how to paint sober. Boo!! My friends and I had booked in advanced so we could make sure we all sat together. My friend had decided in advance to have us come on the day that they were painting a weeping willow tree. Upon arrival we were the first group to show up. We had to wait on some people and probably started 10 minutes after the scheduled time. This was a little annoying as my group has a pet peeve for lateness. The instructor who had led our group was extremely nice and very through in explaining what we needed to do for each step. We had a chance to take a break during the process of painting to step back and look at our painting. I do agree that this can help get a better perspective. Now, I am not going to lie here. My painting was not great until the last step of placing the flowers onto the willow tree. My friends and I even laughed earlier in the process at how horrible my painting skills were. I love friends who can tell the truth! A few things to note here. Even the worst artist in the world ( that being me) can create a decent looking painting. The staff here will give you different colors if you aren't feeling the ones that were provided. The staff will also help you out if you not sure how to do something after it is explained or if you need help with your technique for applying brush strokes. read more

You gotta try this at least once. We began by taking a class painting our pets. Super fun!! They sketch the picute you provide and guide you through the painting process. They coach you on how to shade, mix color and detail your painting. The results were surprisingly good and I was delighted with the process. You can BYOB wine and adult beverages as well as snacks. I came here with a few friends and we picked out these towers to paint I really did have a good time painting you pay a little bit more to be able to get the wood panels the instructor was really good about making sure to be pretty detailed about how she was able to do certain things with the painting in certain brushstrokes. I really really love that they are BYOB and that they will supply you with some cups and some water it was really nice. This review is specifically for the "paint your pet" option. I've been to five or six other painting with a twist nights that were really amazing so I don't want to discredit that... But unfortunately, the paint your pet option was a completely different experience. We obviously knew that everyone would be painting something different, but we thought the higher price tag and additional hour was to allow for more one on one help. Our instructor was very focused on painting a dog in front of the class, which was obviously not very helpful since none of us were painting that dog... And we had to call out to her when we needed help... Which was often since there wasn't a whole lot of instruction at all. It was just kind of odd to be on our own without much assistance offered whatsoever. Like I said, all the other painting with a twist experiences I've had were completely different and I love the company as a whole, I think this might have been an issue with that specific instructor :/ maybe in the future, there can be an additional instructor walking around and offering help? read more
