They do seat assignments, so although we arrived early, 1st ones there and requested to be placed near the front for better visualization, he did not accommodate our request. He said it was because we were only a party of three, and he had a full house with the larger groups having priority for being placed in the front. Our seats were assigned at the very end in the back. We could still see from the back, but we had to get up a few times and walk over to the front to get a better look at the details of his painting. Overall, it was a fun experience. We made the best of it being together and enjoyed our delicious charcuterie style BYO snacks and beverages. There was a good set of 90s music playing in the background, lots of laughter and good vibes from the other attending groups, and the assistant was super attentive to our needs. It is suggested to bring clothes that you don't mind if paint gets on them. Also, some paint techniques require you to use your fingers to flick paint onto the canvas. My daughter and I enjoyed a painting night together. It was her first time! Mitchell was our instructor, he did a good job leading us through the painting of a mystical night painting. I had been to several Painting With a Twist locations, I had never been to this one in Frisco. The space was well laid out and there was plenty of room to paint. The weather was kind of dicey when we went so there were only four or five other people painting during the same time. I wish that they offered acrylic for painting options more often, but that's just my personal preference. Overall, it was a great experience. read more

I really had a great time with a group of friends from work. Great location, fun atmosphere, and lots of laughter. My instructor was so funny, he kept us laughing and entertained. The instructor also had an assistant that helped a lot, for whatever you need. Wether its more paint, or in doubt about your painting skills. The environment is so fun, you do not feel out of place. You may also BYOB, sip and dip while you paint. Great for date nights or just hanging with a friend. I will definitely return! read more

Update to review: I changed from 3 to 4 stars because the manager contacted us to discuss the review. She was genuinely concerned about our comments and said she would take steps to rectify the concerns. She was very nice and the call was a very welcome surprise. Issues happen some times. It is how a company responds that makes the difference for me. This was our first visit to this location. We did paintings of our dogs. While we had a good time, we have had better at other locations. There were two ladies there helping us. One was AWESOME. unfortunately I dont remember her name. (My wife informed me her name is Kayla). I do remember that her family lived in Berncastle Germany. The other one was not awesome. I remember she was from somewhere in europe. She spent most of her time painting a dog on her smock and was generally unavailable to assist. I love the painting with a twist concept but the staff and environment definable influence the enjoyment of the experience. Part of that experience is also the music selection or lack of in our case. Apparently the computer decided to reboot for about an hour (at least thats what it seemed like). Was just an odd experience. We will probably go back to this same location because it is close to our house but will be asking who will be working the event and may bring a bose system to listen to music. read more

With such a crowded painting session, you would think there would be lack of supplies such as paper towels or paints, or maybe people struggling to keep up with the class... but nope! Everything was wonderful! There were probably 50 people in the room in the class and we had a party of about 20+. The staff was very accommodating and let us set up a table for refreshments for our party and the staff members were very helpful in checking on the lot of us to make sure everyone had enough paint and passed around extra paper towels. A couple staff members even helped with a few people who needed some artistic help with their painting and I greatly appreciated that. I've been to other Painting With A Twist locations but this has been my favorite experience this far, so we-- whether it's with another party or just a family outing-- will definitely be coming back! read more

I came to this location with my coworkers as a team building trip early this year and it was a good time! We got there and our easels were set up along with the colors we would be using. Prior to coming, me and my coworkers picked a picture we would be painting and it was fun and funny seeing everyone's variation of the painting. The young lady who led the class was nice, patient and personable. The place is set up as Byob and this is a good place to bring your significant other as an outing or a with a group of people. Our instructor went quiet fast and my whole group felt really rushed the entire time. We did end up finishing 25 minutes early and our paintings where not looking the best. The instructor had a bit of an attitude towards us if we ever needed more paint or paper towels. I have been to the Plano location and have never experienced this issue. Went here on a Saturday night for a 3 hour sesh painting class called "winter reflection". The class was small, but in a good way - very intimate. Cam is a entertaining, super chill teacher. Highly recommend going to any of his classes. He'll help you out if your stuck and will give you "until the end of the song" to catch up on the current step or something you want to fix. The studio was over all clean and the atmosphere was much like a studio I'd like my own paint shop to be like. They have a couple hair dryers so you can safely transport your works of art without messing up your car. read more

I had my daughter's 9th birthday party here last Saturday. I did not feel 1.5 hrs was enough time for the painting, my daughter got stressed out and said, "I feel like they are going to fast" Yes, we did start 15 minutes late waiting on more people to show up, but I had no idea that would do so much strain on the painting for the girls. The painting instructor was good, but her helper sat on his stool 95% of the time. We had to ask him (several times) to get up and help the girls who were struggling to stay on time. The painting went so fast the paint didn't dry, so all the paint was smeared on the girls paintings...none of them looked so good. I do not recommend this for little people! read more

Just go. Your friends have been all like, "Dude, you should come with us" for months. They're right, you should. It's like this - you show up with your bottle of wine or your 6 pack of beer or your bottle of Grey Goose + mixer or your coca cola or your chocolate milk. Don't bring a cup - they have them there. The dude who runs the place is this super nice guy who greets you at the door and offers to open up your bottle for you and hands you an apron. He shows you where you're supposed to sit and it's always with your friends (just buy your tickets together online OR if you already bought your ticket and your dude-bro has not, just have your dude-bro call up to the place and tell them they're with you. Boom - done.) Your canvas, paints, paintbrushes - they're all already there just waiting for you to get your art on. Chat, drink with your friends until the guy is ready to go. You can't paint? BFD! The guy seriously walks you through it, step by step. Even if PHD'd in painting, you're at the same pace as everyone else (it just means you finish your part faster and get to drink more.) And at the end, even if you think you've done a crappy job and it's never going to look like the thumbnail you saw on the website, it comes together and also you're probably a little drunk so it looks AHHHHMAZINGGGGGG (but no seriously, it will look amazing.) The downside is only this: it is a bit too pricy to be doing all the time. $35 + the cost of whatever you brought to drink (and you may want to bring a snack or two also - this is a 2-hour class) comes out to just about $50 for yourself, and if you're bringing a date (DUDES - DO THIS) it could end up being about $100 or more. But I mean, that's what you'd be paying for that stupid steak dinner at that incredibly boring restaurant your mom suggested anyways so it's like, whatever. Just do it. Just go. It's awesome. My husband and I just did the painting class of our two fur babies and although I had already done another painting class, at another Painting with a Twist location, I really loved this one. All the instructors were really friendly and helpful and there was good music playing in the background. We loved how our paintings came out and in part thanks to the finishing touches provided by some of the instructors. We will definitely come back for other classes and would recommend this location to our friends. Plus you get to bring your wine bottle and they can open it for you and even offer cups. This place is great! I moved from Colorado and was looking for one of these places. Tried the one in grapevine (meh) and the one in Plano (meh) but the one in Frisco is my favorite. Not only do they sketch out the more complicated designs for you (i.e. a wine glass) but they help you whenever you ask. I will be the first to admit I have no talent when it comes to painting but I enjoy having fun with friends. I took friends here for my birthday and everyone had an awesome time. We have had various instructors all of which were nice and patient. Usually when we go, Robert is helping out and bless that poor man's heart because I ask his help on everything and he is always nice about it. Suck at painting? No problem Need help on a tricky part? They can help Guy friendly? Absolutely. I've brought guys and they loved it. If you see a painting around the place that you want to do, they will work on getting that onto a calendar for you which I think is awesome of them to offer. If I had any complaints, it would be that the last few times we have gone the lock has been broken on the women's restroom. If you plan on going more than once, ask them for a punch card! P with a T is awesome! The staff was incredibly sweet and generous towards my husband and I on our recent visit. I emailed for reservations ahead of time as a fun thing to do while my husband was home visiting from Iraq and the owner, Denise, responded the next day saying that our class would be comped! Upon arrival, the staff had already reserved seats for us toward the front and even introduced my husband with warm welcome before class. I was so touched by their generosity and these folks are genuinely really nice people who are in it for the love of art and teaching others to paint. The class was a lot of fun and very easy going and we took several breaks for snacks. The other students were also really friendly as well and even offer us homemade cookies. I really look forward to coming back and they also made a great gift for Mother's Day. A good date night activity. The paintings are set by the day so go online to see what the project will be for a given day. You show up, put on a smock, the paint and brushes are there, and drink while you paint (BYOA). It is pretty difficult to mess up when painting here. The painting I did already had the basic outline pre-drawn. The instructor will walk through each step and there are several people floating around to help. The amazing thing to me is that each painting still looks unique based on how you mix colors, add accents, etc. I'm by no means artistic and I was proud of the work I produced. read more

I went to Painting With a Twist for the first time last night. We hosted my aunt's birthday party and the staff was gracious and so helpful. They allowed us to bring food and drinks and made the painting class super fun! Some of us were worried about how well our paintings would turn out, as there were a good handful of us that are not artistically inclined. Sounded like an interesting concept so I made a couple of reservations to go with a friend the day of the session (keep in mind that they make you pay the full price of the session when you make the reservations, in this case it was $35 each). My friend fell ill right before our class and wasn't going to be able to make it so I called Painting With A Twist to see if we could simply reschedule our session to another date. I told them about the situation at hand and the person who answered the phone said "I'll see what I can do" and hung up abruptly. I called again and they outright refused claiming that reservations need to be canceled a full 24 hours before the session date. My reservation wasn't even placed a full 24 hours in advance. I had to call my bank and tell them to block the transaction. Horrible customer service, the business tried to scam me out of $70 for a service that I didn't even receive. My advice, if you for whatever reason feel you need to come here, is don't bother making a reservation as they can only work against you in case of something unexpected happening because the staff will refuse to workout a solution with you. In the end Painting With A Twist was unable to scam me out $70, lost two potential customers and got bad publicity as a result. I will never do business with them again. read more

Super fun! The set up for the event was easy and made it so simply to set up the event for our National Charity League. It was an event where we could bring in food and drinks and make it a true party. The ladies that walked us through our painting were helpful and encouraging to all of us. Like Madonna says, "express yourself"! We had a great time. While the artist du jour instructs you how to recreate the sample, you are encouraged to use creative license. It is BYOB and BYOF (Bring Your Own Food). Recommend a couple bottles of wine, at least, or a couple of six packs. They have a small cube fridge for use but I encourage you to bring a cooler to sit next to you - much more convenient and the fridge can fill up quick. My husband and I planned an afternoon date together and took a class at this location. We had a fun time! They allow you to bring your own refreshments so we brought cheese, crackers, beer and wine. I don't recommend bringing a big spread of stuff, your space is limited due to paint, brushes, water cups, and of course your canvas. The instructor did a great job giving step-by-step instructions and walked around often to help guide individuals needing some creative input. The staff was really friendly and helpful in providing extra paint and refilling wine glasses when needed. Have been to Painting with A Twist in several different locations. I picked location based on what I wanna paint. I hope the owner takes my advice to heart because he was a real sweetheart. Our artist was a little lame. He was dull. Most of them tell stories or talk about why the do painting with a twist or what they do. He was boring. Then his assistants just sat there and kept giving him feedback about the customers, mind you, we are customers. Also no music playing in background. It was blasting and fueled the atmosphere...then when the session started the music stopped and the energy dropped instantly. I was bored not by painting, but by the energy in the room. I don't blame owner or anything. I just hope he can take the feedback and make some adjustments. Very important to keep the energy level up in the room!!! read more
