Loads of fun painting with my girlfriends
    Stephanie A.

I had loads of fun with my girlfriends at Painting with a Twist! This is amazing for large parties or a date night! I do not have an artistic bone in my body but managed to draw a beautiful painting which I can't wait to hang up in my house once I find the right frame to fit my canvas. The instructor was very patient and walked us through every brush stroke and half way he would assist in making corrections is someone was struggling. He was very helpful and descriptive up on stage. I highly recommend this place and will definitely go again!

This was not my first time with Painting with a Twist but it was at this location and first live not virtual. Much better live as my picture was predrawn out which I loved and I could see and hear the instructor much better. Live events meant time with my friends painting and sharing some appetizers and bring your own mixed drinks. I seem to finish on time and didn't feel pushed for time at this event. My painting turned out cute and we were all happy with our end results. PWAT is also a event space for parties or corporate gatherings. It's a fun idea and easy to participate with several offerings available.

The reveal of the glow in the dark paint was special and surreal. So so cool, we had no idea!

Went on a special date with my someone here. The glow in the dark tropical landscape painting experience was perfection. I do not recall the name of the host, but that woman did an amazing job. This is somewhere you go to have an exceptionally positive experience!!

I can't rave enough about how great painting with a twist is. I went yesterday for a class, we were painting flowers. Everything was already set up when I arrived. You don't have to worry about the mess of it at home. Instructor gave good, clear instructions and there also was a helper named Faith who was great, and so helpful. I also made a candle which is new. You pick the scent, mix it with the wax, it hardens and you have a candle. Their scents were amazing there are more I want to do. They have a big variety in their schedule of different styles. I will definitely be coming back!

Cute studio right off of San Marco. There is extra parking in the alleyway. We had a girl's night with the church. The instructor was very funny and kept it entertaining. We brought food and drinks to munch on. He had music playing also. It was very fun and relaxing. Really liked this location.

I came here yesterday with a group of my friends for one of their birthdays and we had a blast! The staff was so much fun and very helpful! It is the perfect place to relax, have a drink and have some fun with your pals. We painted the little mermaid and jammed out to Disney music during our session. Everyone sang along to the songs and we all embraced our Disney love. The studio is in a perfect location in San Marco, plenty of room for parking and a short walk from some of my favorite food joints. It is a beautiful brick building with plenty of natural light to paint your masterpieces. This is for both the expert painter and the beginner. An instructor stands on a stage at the front of the room and there are TVs situated around the room in case you can not see. PS this place is BYOB (bring your own beverage). So bring whatever your heart desires and have a fun time!

This was such a fun experience!! I've never been here before and I am not artistic at all. I had very low expectations. I figured it'll be a fun time with friends, but whatever I paint will end up in the fire pit. I saw the painting of the night and thought well this is gonna be bad! I can barely draw a circle or color in the lines. We painted under a black light so that was different and a lot of fun!! They played the best music!! It was just a mix of popular mosaic now and music from the 90's and early 2000's! The instructor on stage was awesome and then there was a man walking around helping if you needed it. I raised my hand a few times lol When it was done I was shocked!! My painting looked so good!! We had so much fun We drank wine We laughed We listened to awesome music! We can't wait to come back and paint something else!

This place is A-W-E-S-O-M-E !! Franc has been the artist expert for most of the visits I've had but I def feel this is one of the most interesting and all level of painting expertise kind of place ! It's located in a neighborhood with cool looks For the price it includes all the materials needed to paint it's also a BYOB and BYOF ( bring your own bottle I.e: wine, liquor and bring your own food ) I've even went to this location on a solo dolo deal because I e enjoyed it so much definitely a place I recommend groups or solo the artist host is so entertaining I absolutely loved every experience I've had here thus far !!!

I was surprised by my daughter with a paint night for my birthday. We had a wonderful time. The painting area a little small, narrow, and it got hot but they made up for that with personality and charm. Outside food and drinks are welcome. If you are in the back of the room there is a screen so you can see the artist and paining. The artist we had was wonderful. She was funny and provide great instructions.

Been to this studio three times. SO MUCH FUN! I am NOT an artist, but I have loved my art and have them in my home. Took my granddaughter for this last one and she loves it. Will be back! PS, Laura has been my artist twice. She's great

    PWAT and friends!

PWAT @San Marco was my first time EVER painting anything other than someone's face with makeup! Furthermore, my husband is hopeless in the art department and isn't a "put on an apron and sit in an art class" kinda' guy at all! However, our friends (who love it and raved about it) invited the hubs and I on a double date. I was super nervous that the hubs would HATE it, and we'd basically pay money to slap paint around a canvas and be miserable! Ultimately, we went despite our initial reservation and made a pact that if all else failed, we'd allow the wine to keep us company and try our best to be a good "date" for our friends! We prepared for the worst, but the exact opposite happened. We had a blast! Our instructor was patient and super sweet! We fared well, and our paintings turned out fairly well also! Great experience and I'd recommend that anyone who's even slightly interested (or uninterested and invited) push through their reservations and try it! It's not just for the artsy fartsy!

But it was cancelled with no explanation. The only other events before our expiration were sold out. I contacted Groupon and was told to contact Paint Nite. They have no phone number on their website, so email it is. I was told the Groupon would be honored past the expiration date. Fast forward to October 2nd. My friend registered for the event at Whitey's. It was sold out when I tried to book, however there was 1 a lot open the day of. I couldn't register online because it said my Groupon was used so I emailed. 1.5 hours before the event I got a confirmation so out to Whiteys I went. The setup was on the patio and ready when we arrived. Each station was covered with a table cloth and had an easel, blank canvas, needed paint brushes, the paint for your print, a cup of water and a paper towel. We checked in, got our aprons and waited to paint. The artist was wearing a mic so we could hear her and she walked us through the painting. 2-3 others walked around to help if you were struggling or needed more paint. We had breaks in between steps, music was played, and we all drank, painted, sang, danced and had a damn good time. Being outside on a muggy night meant it took a little longer than normal for the painting to dry. All in all, I had a great time! My artistic skills are nonexistent but even I made a decent painting thanks to the instructions. I'm already planning another Paint Nite with more friends.

Found this business via Local Flavor or probably wouldn't have known about it…read more Cute little shop in the heart of Edgewood, owned by a mother and daughter duo. They were both so sweet & helpful! They have hundreds of designs to choose from or they can pretty much create just about anything you want. They also have tons of different shapes and sizes of boards from which to choose. The daughter explained the whole process to us and let us roll. You start by staining the board then blow drying it so you can get to the next step. That would be applying the sticker stencil then painting with a good 3 or so coats. Let that baby dry then voila! Masterpiece done. I highly recommend this business! Support locals, have a blast (ummm BYOB!!), and create a gift (or keep for yourself )

I had purchased a Groupon for this crafting session- and had to email back and forth to schedule…read moreand redeem the groupons. There was a break in communication over several days- so I reached out again to make sure we were booked and it was as though I had never emailed in the first place- although the email chain was all below. The shop is located in Murray Hill and it looks run down outside- we happened to pick the same night as Octoberfest was being celebrated by another business and parking was a bear. Once through the door our instructor was very chatty and thoroughly gave instruction- our group consisted of three of us and we are all crafters, who also all work at Michael's. Which we did tell our lovely instructor- we probably could have sped up the process a bit because of it- but we kept at the pace set by our leader. This is not a franchise- but an honest Jacksonville start up business. I do appreciate that. We stained our wood, set our stencils on our boards and were off to pick paints. They only do chalk paints and I learned a valuable lesson using these paints. They stink! I am going to assume that chalk paints can go bad- because I can't imagine anyone buying and using paints that smelled like dead animals- but that's exactly what some of these jars smelled like when I cracked them open. Tiff - my friend- works a ranch and completely agreed with my assessment! I am hyper sensitive to smells and this threw me. I pushed on and finished painting. Our instructor tried to give us tips- haha- I say try because us stubborn crafters barely followed her suggestions. I wanted my paint to still show the wood grain beneath- she thought I should've put more paint on- but I ended up with exactly the desired look. My one friend- Naomi didn't want any bright colors that would clash with her home- not even on her Halloween sign! I thought it was cute- she was so set on just black, white and gray. Tiff- she slathered the most paint on and hers was tacky-damp even as she left my house an hour after! Instruction = 4 stars (slow but thorough) Paint = 2 stars for the ones almost empty- they were noxious Final product = 5 stars we all had fun and left happy
