If i could give no stars i would. Randall was very promising about how he could help with my taxes as well as helping me with my LLC. i gave him all my documents and information and he ghosted me. I attempted to call him multiple times and no response. i then told him i will be filing a police report if he does not return my documents to which he replied to the email with links to schedule an appointment. Mr. Pairett is knowledgeable and helpful. He has been doing my taxes and my parents' taxes for years. I wouldn't trust anyone else.

Lies. Lies. And more lies. Pairett held my taxes hostage and lied about having an office. Randall Pairett, CPA, is dishonest and has behaved fraudulently in his business dealings with me. He avoided by phone calls and emails. He refused to return my original tax documents until after he was paid a second payment of over $1,000.00 (of which I had not agreed). Initially, I paid Randall Pairett $1,500.00 to complete two tax amendments. Once he took possession of my originally filed taxes, it cost me another $1,000.00 to get them back. I'm pretty sure extortion is illegal! And, he only completed one of the two amendments he had been paid to complete! He made himself completely unavailable: no real office location, no response to my emails, text messages or phone calls. He only responded to me two weeks after my repeated attempts to contact him, when I mentioned that he had given me another client's tax documents. When he read that email, he responded immediately. He requested that I mail the client's tax documents to a P.O. box! What?! Additionally, when first meeting Randall Pairett, he lied about having a physical office. He asked that I meet him at Starbucks down the street from his office saying to me, "the office Conference Room is booked". I subsequently discovered that he does not have an office, and rents the Conference Room at 3630 FM 2181, Suite #103, Hickory Creek. A tenant there informed me that he used to have an office at that location. His lack of an office would be fine, except for the fact there is no way to track him down after he makes himself unavailable. I advise you, do NOT trust Randall Pairett with your personal information. He does not have an office, levies sky high prices to complete simple amendments and tax return work, and will withhold your documents until you pay whatever sum he decides is due. read more

I've been a client of Randall Pairett for 4 years. I am a small business owner & like to maintain the same cpa, financial advisor, business attorney, web services developer etc for years. I value my long term relationships. I believe in taking care of who takes care of you and even send my team of help holiday gifts over the years as a small token of appreciation. This is important to note-I am single, I don't own anything, no kids, small business, no complications-simple taxes for most cpa's. I found Randall professional & competent early on. His attitude is a bit dry and he can be brash at times/absent minded at times or attacking. I thought his competence is all I need. I was wrong. I turned my taxes to him in the 2nd week of February this year. He ignores questions, emails, follow up. I sent 3 emails to follow up. I gave him a week to respond. He didn't. I then texted him. He waits until April 3rd evening after I ask, "what's going on? Please I don't want to pay an extension fee on taxes you had for almost 7 weeks" to text me "most of my clients pay extension fees I suggest you find someone else if you have an issue with my response time or paying extension fees." This person had 7 weeks to do taxes of a single person, no kids, no complications, no real estate, and he waits until the last week to tell me you need to pay an extension fee. I told him that's not fair and to please reconsider. per usual I got ignored. So if you're looking for someone to hold on to your documents for 7 weeks until just about a week before taxes are due to tell you find someone else, hire this guy! read more

My parents have used Randall Pairett for their tax returns for several years with no issues (they are in their late 80s). We knew that his prices were higher than others, but his office is so convenient and he seems to know what he is doing. The 2018 tax year included a gift of equity to their children due the sale of a rental home and when asked about the tax implications Randall said it would just mean filing form 709 and it would not be a big deal. In reality, my parents received a bill for $975 when Randall normally charges $275 for a joint return. When I asked why the bill was more than 3 times the normal amount, he responded via email that it was for 2 tax returns as the gift tax returns have to be filed separately. When I questioned again why not $550, he responded by saying they are more difficult to do. (My own CPA says it takes about 10 minutes to complete). I emailed him in response to try to negotiate the price, since was so unexpected and unreasonably high. He basically said, the price is the price. I later realized that the $975 did not include their personal tax return that still needed to be done. When I asked his assistant how much he was going to charge for that, the response was $300! This is on top of the $975! My parents don't have any assets other than a rental property they sold in 2018 and their home and their only income is social security and a pension. How complex could it be?! Next, his assistant, sent my parents an email requesting that they sign a document that states, "This letter is to confirm that you received your 2018 709 Gift Tax Return. It is your responsibility to review your tax return in its entirety." I emailed Randall's assistant to ask, "Since my parents haven't received it (the tax return), how can they sign the letter stating that they have?" The reply I received was a typical example to the level of customer service that we received, "In order to receive the tax return, the letter must be signed and dated, then returned to us." No explanation; no apology. This is clearly unethical behavior to force your clients (elderly clients, at that) to sign a document to attest to something that is not true. Unethical practices at this business. My husband and I own small businesses and I am also a nurse. I found this business on my Nextdoor app as I was looking for a new local CPA to do mine and my husbands taxes off of some peoples recommendations. He did our last years taxes as well as this years. Last year we had to file an extension which I have filed before without such an exorbitant fee that he charged me this year, a75% increase... without warning. When I questioned him about the increase his response was basically oh well that's the price. As I spoke with my husband about the matter he said he had a bad feeling about him last year when he asked Randall some questions which my husband did not explain to me about, had I known I would have found someone different. Last year we spent $750 and this year he charged us $1312.50 for filling with an extension. The only difference between paying the previous year and this year is that the funds to pay him are hard to come by dealing with this Covid issue. There was no other complicated formula that he needed to deal with in our taxes. We are actually two days earlier this year than we were last year in filing taxes so why such a steep 75% increase??! To top it off he would not show us the return until he was paid nor would he tell us if we were getting a refund until he was paid. With all the other CPA's I've used in the past, they have been more than willing to show us our return and letting us know if we were getting a refund or not. Bottom line... buyer beware!! read more
