Everything came out hot and fresh. I ordered coffee, water, and the cajun chicken salad. The water had a pleasant flavor and came in nice cold water flasks to fill glasses (Note: we had gone to a restaurant the previous day and the water was like licking 100 year old pipes). The coffee cane out hot and had a great taste to it. I'm no coffee connoisseur, so my taste buds may vary from yours. The cajun chicken salad was incredible. Right groin the start the chicken was hot, the salad with dressing was very balanced, and the kick from the spice only slightly overwhelmed you from the start. I truly enjoyed the salad and highly recommend it. A few of us wanted to take advantage of the dessert offerings, specifically the Tiramisu. Unfortunately, they were sold out. Upon leaving, I took a few seconds to thank the owner/manager and complimented him on the salad. Service was excellent, food was phenomenal, and the price was still reasonable. As a chef it is great to get a meal and see that care has been taken preparing it. The vegetables are cooked al dente, the meat is succulent and tender the sauce is not too sickly sweet or over salty. The Corner House delivers every time. There beef dishes are tender and melt in the mouth, lamb is just as good if not better and the vegetables with the dish are always vibrant and fresh. If you like your food and want to treat yourself then you won't be disappointed with this restaurant. I just can't fault the place from service to food. Top marks all the way.

It has the same delicious food and great service that the Ambassador was famous for! Huge menu, and everything is freshly prepared, with the best of ingredients. We had the House selection to start with, a wonderful selection of starters, spring rolls, ribs, satay chicken, prawn bread, prawns in a crispy batter, we finished the lot! Almost forgot to mention the fresh, fresh prawn crackers you munch on while waiting for your food, simply the best! For the main I had the duck with plum sauce and boiled rice. Everyone ate and it went well but it was not as good as when I was here last time in terms of taste and smell. The average lunch price for a plate of pasta or a sandwich as a main is 15€; they serve jars of water and as vegetarian options they have nut burger, stir-fry and curry. For starters, it varies from salad to corn and soup costing around 5€. Desserts are also around that price and you can expect ice-cream, brownies, banoffee pie and apple crumble. Prices rise by nearly a fiver in dinner time and from what I saw on the menu, the amount of choice is greater later on, hence its popularity then! There is a menu board near the front and there is also a daily specials blackboard on the opposite wall behind the counter. There are only 4 tables inside and they are all two-tops. There is an outside eating area out back that has an Italian countryside feel. The man behind the counter was extremely friendly and accommodating. We finally decided what to order and he said he would bring everything to our table. First the bread, oil, and vinegar were of the highest quality. The Prosecco was very good and actually had a cork in it. My son got the pizza and I got the rolled stuffed pork special. Both were outstanding. When in Youghal I highly recommend this place. Especially if you're a little tired of fish& chips or shepherds pie!
