And even the girl that helped me today Ann, at first she was not too friendly but then she seemed to have lightened up. But The Manager of the salon however gives off a very nasty and ugly vibe. I'm not sure if that is her personality as she claims, but to be honest I don't think I will be returning to them simply because of the few times I have been there and she has been so rude to me. Went in the morning to get a pedicure. I had been here before a few years ago and remembered they had done a good job. When I sat in the chair the nail technician gave me a laminated piece of paper with prices and services. Told her I just needed the basic. She stripped off the orange color I had and trimmed my left foot, as she was doing that she commented that the top of my feet were rough and I needed the more expensive deluxe package. I declined, and she continued to trim. She got to my left big toe, and said, you sure you don't want deluxe? I said no, I don't. She then proceeded to butcher the outside of my big toe. Never, in the 20+ years that I've been getting pedicures have I gotten out of the chair bleeding and in throbbing pain and left a nail salon mid pedicure. It was super clean in there and as people started getting there ( I was the first person there ) they made sure to tend to everyone as soon as they walked through the door and then they had two nail techs to each person that was getting a pedicure so they could do the manicure at the same time. Ok y'all, my nails look great but the experience was horrible. I told the nail specialist 4 times I didn't want shellac on my toes. She huffed and puffed and seemed like she finally got over it. I've been searching for a nail salon that is professional and delivers beautiful quality nails in a timely manner. I believe I may very well have found my new place. I came in around 930am on a Thursday. I was their first customer of the day. Every technician made eye contact, smiled, and greeted me good morning. I felt welcomed. The ambiance is clean and modern with neutral wall colors and minimalist decor. The tv was turned on at a low but audible level. All the workstations were clean. I noticed my nail tech brought out a sealed new set of tools before beginning my services and I appreciate their attention to hygiene. My technician consulted w me about my current powder/tip nails and I expressed I wanted to remove them completely and get a manicure w shellac on my natural nails. She took her time, did greAt quality work and made sure I was happy. She informed me of their 20% discount Grand Opening special running now until February 1st. My total for removal and shellac mani came to $30 and I received a $6 discount so, $24 and I paid the tip separately to my tech. I would recommend this place to any and everyone. Palace Nails Spa. I have never felt so humiliated in a nails spa. I asked for tip polish. The nail tech said "Nails are short I can see the tip" yes I'm aware of these) I didn't want all my nails polished. Just the tip. I wanted this gray color. So she tried and she said no no I don't like it, let's get a darker color. I don't want a darker color. After she paints the whole nail to see if I liked it, I told her I would like the tip only. She continues to paint the whole nail. Mind you she is on her ear piece talking to someone the entire time. She cuts me twice and doesn't clean under the nails as I asked her. Tried to explain that the filing was a little off. She gets upset and at this point I just want to go. I told her that okay just leave it, I will fix it later. I have to go. She raises her voice at me in front of others in the spa. I was besides myself. She said that's just me and I'm sorry, but I just raise my voice, not mad just do that. Yes she did apologize but this was not professional and I will not return. In tears, I pay and walk out. Should I have been more upset? Should have I raised my voice back? Couldn't go to this place today, which I've been coming for the past 2 months. So, I went to another nails salon to take off the acrylics I got done here at Palace nails. When I was getting my nails soaked off they were sticky! I am a 100% sure they use MMA. MMA when removing ur nails is super sticky unlike EMA which is what they are supposed to use comes off super easily & is not sticky & leaves ur nails looking healthier than MMA. The reason I went to take my nails off was bc I hit my nail like 2 days ago & it was hurting to the point where I just decided to take off that nail.
