This gem of a hotel is right in the heart of the historic centre and perfectly situated for The Albaicin and The Alhambra. Right alongside the Rio Darro with its cobbled streets and buzzing bars and restaurants this is truly the real thing. Even a museum next door with an exhibition of The Inquisition if that is your thing. The staff were so kind and friendly. They even looked after our little dog Pepe while we ate breakfast in the dining room. The bedroom was a decent size and I am pleased to say the bed was very comfortable which for me is one of the most important considerations. The facilities were adequate and a nice touch was the heating in the room because in February it still gets cool at night. The reception area has many historical features including reliefs on the walls and the timber balconies and flag stoned floors. A short walk down a few steps and you are right on the Rio Darro. You can pick up your taxi from here which the staff will arrange for you or you can walk to the Plaza Nueva and pick one up there. Walk a few 100 feet and it opens up to a long promenade with restaurants and on the Sunday when we arrived there was a street craft Market, all right underneath The Alhambra. There are two small mini supermarkets on this street to buy your essentials. Keep walking past the restaurants and you will go up to the Albaicin. If you look for The Mirador you get the best views of The Alhambra and so many quaint plazas with bars and restaurants. The main Gran Via is just a short walk too for those all important shops and boutiques and The Alcaiceria where we bought some pretty moroccan plates, bowls and a mosaic lamp. This is our 4th visit to Granada and I would highly recommend this hotel. Just a note for people with mobility issues. The approach to the hotel is not suitable for wheelchair users due to the steps and inside the hotel there are a few steps at different levels but if you can walk they do have a lift to the upper floors and they have rooms on the ground level. This hotel provided everything we wanted and that included provision for our English Pointer - not a lap dog. We read that parking in Granada is a challenge and that the hotel is in an area where private transport is prohibited without prior notification through the hotel, but even then the place you can briefly stop to unload (narrow street with buses and taxis) is 50 meters from the hotel. The hotel's solution is to offer discounted parking at a nearby car park (not a huge discount) and pay for a taxi from the car park to the hotel - not possible with a dog. We found the car park eventually but the challenge and extensive detour was because TomTom does not recognise the prohibited areas - we nearly entered one - and we should have only followed the hotel's instruction that are accurate. This may appear irrelevant but remember that, until you actually reach the hotel (it was raining) you cannot enjoy the wonderful location, the beautiful building with delightful internal courtyards, the comfortable rooms (beds good, pillow options available) the well-appointed bathroom, the particularly helpful staff, the free afternoon tea/coffee and the excellent breakfast. Take the hotel staff's advice about restaurants and how to get around, including up to and down from the Alhambra which made a perfect hill-top silhouette at dusk seen from the small balcony of our room. We booked your hotel for our 40th wedding anniversary. We had booked a Superior Double Room with Alhambra views via booking.com. The room was to have a seating area plus desk etc etc(photos shown as per booking.com and looked spacious). On arrival we were allocated room no 34. On entering the room we could see that it was Not what we had booked. It was tiny- the double bed took up most of the space as well as the minibar. There was no seating area or desk and it looked shabby. The shower attachment was broken and the furniture looked old and worn out. We complained at reception who said "but it has Alhambra views". Not good enough- if it says seating area and Alhambra views that is what it should have . Not one or the other. We were then advised that the hotel was full that night but they would move us to room 35 next day. We noticed the the floor plan and it showed that room 34 had originally been a single room and now had a double bed in it. Room 35 didn't look much bigger. We complained again and asked to speak to the manager(he wasn't available). However later that day we were advised that we would be moving to room 32- which was exactly what we had expected in the first place. You very nearly ruined our celebrations. Not a good start to our holiday. read more

Hotel overall was very good and in an excellent location in the heart of the Albaicin region. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean, fresh linen and towels every day. Air conditioning very effective. Bed very comfortable enabling excellent sleep . Our trip was for our wedding anniversary and we had bubbly in our room which we thought was a nice touch. Plenty on offer for breakfast for all tastes. We had requested a room with a view of the Alhambra and believed there would be two comfortable chairs to sit and look at this view in the evening as per the photographs on the hotel website. However our room, although nice , had a side view of the Alhambra and no comfy chairs only hard back chairs at the desk. Due to this being a special occasion we asked about the room, the staff kindly showed us two other rooms that we could move to between guests. Although they had direct view of the Alhambra there were no comfy chairs either so we decided to stay in our original room. We believe the picture on the website was of the suite which was slightly misleading. Overall lovely long weekend. Thank you read more

We, a 3-person family spent two nights in Palacio de Santa Ines of Granada in April, and enjoyed a perfect stay. The hotel's location is ideal on the edge of Albaicin towards the Darro river, thus enabling Albaicin walks easily, but also close to Plaza Nueva and the Granada city center and to the Alhambra on the other side of the Darro valley. Since located in the second row, a little apart from lively Calle Carrera de Darro, reached by pedestrian-only small Cuesta de Santa Ines, the Palacio is very quiet at day and nighttimes. We had booked rooms in the upper floors with a magnificent view to the Alhambra and, as a surprise, even private "Miradores" belonging to the rooms, which were comfortable, nicely furnished and clean. The whole house had a nice historic ambiente built around a central patio. Breakfast was fabulous - had all we needed and the hotel personnel was kind and helpful with any questions we had. Booked three nights with our daughter, and a double room with mezzanine singles was available which was perfect.- enough room for us all to siesta if we wanted. Beautifully positioned between the Albacin and the Plaza Nueva - one of our party was in a recovery boot and we could walk to lots of places without too much trouble. Easy to find a brilliant tablao close by, and a superb flamenco teacher 10 minutes away. Not to mention the Alhambra on your doorstep (and they were happy to supply an early breakfast so we could make our Nasrid Palaces booking). El Trillo restaurant is a few stairs away too. Front desk and breakfast room staff charming and very helpful. Loved the way the interior courtyards now serve as patios, and couldn't disagree more about the lobby seeming dingy - it's charming, with original marble pillars bearing ancient carved initials and so on. Although we only saw a fragment of the city we felt utterly happy with the whole experience and will certainly go back. read more

Loved our stay at this hotel. It's in a great location. Short walk through some narrow charming streets and stairs to get to some cute shopping areas and restaurants. The taxi was able to drop us off at the bottom of a set of stone stairs and then after that short climb we were at the entrance of the hotel, not bad at all considering much of the area can be stairs and inclines. The interior atriums are very pretty and nice to lounge in after a long day. The staff at the front desk are very friendly and there 24/7. It was no problem at all to call a taxi to go to the airport. There are a few vending machines with drinks/snacks/coffee in case you need something quick. The room was nice with stone and a lofted area with a day bed. The room was quiet and clean, and even had a mini fridge. Spacious bathroom as well with a half bath. It's not so far to the Alhambra. You could walk if you wanted to or take a taxi. I would stay here again for sure. read more

A lovely hotel , all the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our 7 night stay. My wife and I have stayed in many hotels and the Palacio de Santa Ines in our opinion is the best hotel of its type that we have stayed in at a very reasonable cost. The hotel location could not have been better, it was situated perfectly for the main visitor sights, the historic quarter and the city centre. We found the breakfast was excellent and fresh with plenty of choice and plentiful quantities, items were replaced when they were running low. We would love to return and certainly will when the opportunity arises. A tip for future visitors, we were recommended by one of the hotel receptionists to buy a 'Granada Card', which gives access to the Alhambra (all parts) and other places of interest in Granada, including some Monasteries which are spectacular and should not be missed. The 'Granada Card' is excellent value. read more

Absolutely gorgeous building located in a quiet plaza just off the river and within easy walking distance to the monuments, restaurants, taxis and everything. Staff was super friendly and extremely helpful with any questions or requests. We had a double room on the 1st floor with a mezzanine which was very clean, large and agreeable to stay in. If you are like us and prefer to sleep with the window open it can be a bit noisy at night so ask to be in back or on a higher floor and as others have stated the breakfast room is small and it can be a bit of a gamble as to getting a table right away. Our only real complaint was the lack of fitted sheets which combined with a slightly undersized bottom sheet meant that we were very quickly laying on heavly wrinkled sheets which can be uncomfortable. Overall a great place and would stay here again! read more

Charming hotel located in a pedestrian area, The Albaycin, easily reached by taxi. Detailed instructions provided by the hotel on where to park and/ or how to direct taxis for drop offs, are excellent. After negotiating small roads and narrow streets streets with a family-size car in Andalucia, dropping off the car in a parking spot was a relief, reaching our hotel without any challenges, a pleasant surprise. The hotel's location is ideal, the rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the staff is wonderful. Don't forget to make arrangements for a guided visit to the Alhambra. The hotel provided us with a knowledgeable and softspoken guide, Antonio Bonilla, who was was amazing. Overall we had a 5 star experience in Granada at Palacio Santa Ines. Granada is a magical place. It should be at the top of your list of places to visit in Spain. read more

The Palacio de Santa Ines is wonderful little hotel tucked away from the street and in a perfect location. Though it is in the center of the busy Albaycin district, close to L'Ahambra, it was quiet and relaxing. We lucked out by getting one of the Superior Rooms with a sitting room and two bathrooms and porch included, but I believe any room would have been fine. It was pristine clean. It was a lovely stay and the best part was the staff, who couldn't have been nicer. The staff were gracious and extremely helpful with directions, calling taxis, finding the location of events we had signed up for on TripAdvisor, getting our airplane boarding tickets for an Iberia flight when it wasn't working on our iphones, etc. They held our bags for us once we had signed out, so we didn't have to carry them with us on our tour of L'Ahambra. read more

We spent 4 nights at Santa Ines in the middle of the coldest of January. The stay was lovely in many ways. Beautiful rooms, and warm considering the cold temperature outside! Even though the building is old (but lovely, beautiful and welcoming!), the toilets/showers in the rooms are modern and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is surprisingly good! Usually the breakfasts in Spain are the same as magdalenas (muffins), donuts and coffee. Here you can enjoy tortilla, a variety of pastries, juices, cheese hams, yoghurts, etc. We didn´t expect that and it came as a positive surprise! The reason why I don´t give Santa Ines a 5 star review is the fact that some of the rooms don´t have windows to the street. Those rooms are rather dark. But I will definitely stay in Santa Ines on my next visit to Granada! read more

We had a great stay at Palacio de Santa Inés. The location is superb, in a quiet corner of the Albaycin neighborhood (beautiful!); yet, a stone throw from everything. The room was very comfortable, breakfast EXCELLENT. I was very impressed by their adherence to COVID protocols. There were windows opened in the breakfast room and good circulation of air. We felt safe. The staff were very helpful, giving us information as to where to go and how to find our way. They also recommended El Mirador de Morayma, walking distance from the hotel, in the Albaycin, where we had a delicious meal on the terrace with magnificent views of the Alhambra! Highly recommended restaurant. All in all we had a great stay in Granada and Palacio de Santa Inés strongly contributed to our nice stay. read more

We loved the Palacio de Santa Ines. Only downside was the room was very small but we had a nice view of the Alhambra. Bed was comfortable and the best pillows we had in Spain. Nice tea pot and tea available in the room as well as a complimentary split of sparkling wine. The decor and inner patios were beautiful. The staff were all kind and helpful. Breakfast was included and had a wide variety of choices--something to appeal to everyone, both tourists and Spanish. Location can't be beat--within walking distance to all major sites, plenty of restaurants, and a taxi stand within close reach. Yet the hotel is set back from the main street so it feels more private. Would stay there again if we ever get to return to Granada. read more

We spent two nights in this nice hotel. We had selected a room with view on the Alhambra. The first night we had a very small room. The bed was comfortable, the room was very clean and the bathroom was spacious, but the room was really tiny - not even a chair was available... However, on the second night, we had a wonderful room with 9 windows and a gorgeous view. It was great! I would like to thank the staff at the reception very much. They were all very kind and efficient. In particular I would like to thank the blond lady (sorry, I don't know her name) who was exceptionally kind and efficient and found a solution to all our issues. Thanks again. My wife and I had a wonderful 5 night stay at Palacio de Santa Ines. The hotel is located centrally in the historic district of Granada directly below the Alhambra and with within easy walking distance to restaurants, cafes and shops. Originally, built in the 1400's, the hotel is a perfect blend of old world charm and modern amenities. Our room was a nice size with separate bedroom and sitting room. Perfect for relaxing after a day of touring Granada. Breakfast was included and provided a good choice of cheeses, meats, bread and pastries to start the day. Finally, the staff were always smiling, engaging and helpful with any questions. Would highly recommend Palacio de Santa Ines to anyone visiting Granada!! read more

We loved our stay at Palacio de Santa Ines a beautiful 16th century mansion with original frescoes in the lobby located at the foothill of the Albaycin quarter full of charm and beautiful original features. The location is perfect just steps away from Plaza Nueva with all the available buses or taxis but also a walking distance from all the important sites. The hotel is in the hub of the very lively Granadian typical neighbourhood of narrow winding streets, small shops and restaurants and cafes. The staff were friendly and helpful particularly Pedro who made sure we were checked out properly the night before organizing a cab early next morning to the car park. We can't thank Siham and her staff for making our stay in Granada a memorable one .After driving from Sevilla and arriving in Granada and finally locating a car parking facility ( which is no easy task) we were greeted and shown to our lovely room. Then with Sihams help we booked on line for a tour of Alhambra which turned out to be fantastic. As a result we extended our stay by 2 nights which enabled us to further explore the sites of Granada and Alhambra. In summary the location of this hotel is terrific , the rooms are great , breakfast will get you through to your evening meal but to us it was the staff led by Siham that made our stay so memorable. We really enjoyed our visit to Granada and staying at the Palacio de Santa Ines right on the edge of the Albaicin and in the shadow of the glorious Alhambra Palace. As other reviews have said, it is a refurbished old property (in fact two!) but that is the charm of the hotel rather than staying in a corporate venue. We were in room 10 on the third floor with a small sitting room and a stunning view of the Alhambra. The room was large, clean and well heated. The staff were lovely and helped us with all our needs including recommending excellent restaurants, museum recommendations and a flamenco show in Sacromonte. In short, a really good stay and would recommend to all! read more
