They also brought us bread with 2 different "salad" toppings- not sure if that was normal or they were trying to impress. If that's what it was, they did. One was onions with seasonings, the other tomato and seasonings almost like a bruschetta topping. The portions were quite large, the kebabs cooked perfectly, and at the end they brought us shots of some liquor that tasted like licorice and packed a punch! With two Pils and tip I spent about 16 euro. Well worth it compared to other meals we've had. Will definitely go back on our next visit here

Just not the same as those found in Italy. Crispy crust. Plenty of cheese. Just different. There is parking for a few cars by the entrance. The hostess/waitress will come out and greet you. Food is made when ordered so not out in a hurry. Full bar, beers on tap or bottles, soft drinks, coffee & tea and Eiscoffee which seems to be a big thing in the area at the moment. What I can share is that as a vegetarian that tries to stay away from deep fried food there were about zero obvious options for me. Zero. There weren't any steamed veggies or mashed potatoes or anything like that I usually go for when the menu is limited for me so it was salad all the way. The waitress was confused when I didn't want chicken on the salad I chose. No chicken? None? My dining partner didn't want to eat the chicken if I had to put it on the side so the answer kept being no chicken. It seemed like the first time someone ever said that. As it's a restaurant that features chicken, it probably was. The salad was large, fresh, and the dressing was amazing. We PCS next week and my husband had this restaurant on his "return bucket list" (such a devastating shame). As a "Yelper", I mistakenly checked in at the wrong restaurant and was excited to see an advertisement written in German which stated "Gratis" [perhaps an appetizer] or €10 [perhaps off the meal]. I asked the female server if she understood what the advertisement on my phone stated and she quickly and flatly said "No" after looking at it. I thought she might not have seen it so I moved the phone closer and she changed her facial expression to show she was not happy (what a sour puss)! It wasn't a big deal so we ordered our food and watched a second family enter the restaurant. Long story short: the second family's appetizer (and dinner) was served before ours. Amusingly enough, they were also offered a complimentary Amaretto drink while paying for their food (while I don't drink, we didn't get a drink offer or a good bye). During our meal the female server glanced (and frowned) when she saw I had apple juice boxes for my small children (five and six years old). I guess she was upset that we didn't order two additional 20 oz drinks for €3 (that they fill up with ice). She was wise enough to hold her piece after the lackluster service she had already provided. What I found more disturbing was her and another male worker (presumably her husband) sitting on their cell phones at a table with their backs to us the entire time. We had to say "Excuse me" several times to get their attention when we needed something. For example, we ordered two small pizzas and they sent one to the table without cutting it. When my husband asked her to take it to the kitchen (to get cut) I had one eye on her and one eye on the chef because I wasn't feeling the love at all! I am not sure if I offended her with the Yelp advertisement but she spent the remainder of the meal with a sour disposition which was very apparent and unfortunate. Having just visited Italy in May I would have to say that the food at this restaurant was much tastier! HOWEVER, I would LOW CRAWL to Italy from Germany on the hottest day of the year before I ever dined at this restaurant again to be treated like a second class citizen (had me ready to dig deep into my Charlestonian roots and give her a history lesson on how to treat people). This staff might want to take stock of their customer service skill sets which might help them determine why they had two families in their restaurant on a Friday. I also work in customer service and to get through the day you sometimes have to give your customers the benefit of the doubt (even if they are wrong -- I checked in at the wrong restaurant). HOWEVER, she could have simply stated that after seeing the advertisement with the restaurant's name on top! I know how to say goodbye in several different languages but the only thing I have to say for this restaurant (and that server) is "GIRL BYEEEE"! Needless to say they got a €0 TIP!!

It's located at the southern end of the…read more"weinstrasse" (wine road) at a beautiful winery at Schweigen - Rechtenbach in southern Germany. It was wonderful. We sat outside on the deck overlooking the vineyards and beautiful German and French countrysides. The restaurant is located one kilometer from the French border. Our French server was Adeline and she was very nice and extremely helpful. She spoke German, French and English. We ordered off the menu and requested just two plates of steamed vegetables because we're vegetarians. We could tell no one had made that request before but Hirschler brought back exactly what we ordered. The food was delicious. It was cooked to perfection. We also had two glasses of sparkling wine which were fantastic and finished off our meal with cappuccinos. The view could not have been better and it was unbelievably quiet being a Friday afternoon. Adeline was an exceptional server. She was very sweet, patient with our limited ability to speak French and was a pleasure to talk to. Thank you Adeline for a wonderful lunch!
