That's too bad they don't have more reviews, I really hate being their first review.
My first impression of this place is, why in the hell is there a bed and breakfast on the 2nd floor of a building with no elevator?! Lol!! Smh. So yeah, after walking 20 mins from the train station through town and traffic....arriving to the hotel, and then realizing we had to haul our luggage up the four flights of stairs....smh. Blah. Might be something you wanna inform ur customers during booking incase someone is coming with a disability. I digress....
Once we arrived, the lady at the receptionist was quite kind, friendly, and personable. So that was very refreshing....she helped us with information about Florence, and gave us a map, and showed us some spots....yes, quite helpful. She even went to my fathers room to assist him with the safe....thought she went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. And actually, before I forget, ALL of the people at the front desk were kind and very nice.
The breakfast in the morning was light, and pretty good. A simple continental breakfast. It is open from 8am - 10am. The rooms are clean, the bathrooms, were clean, this place is quite cute, and out of the way of the hustle and bustle. Most tours don't ask you to arrive till 8am -8:30am. So with commuting and travel, an earlier breakfast would be nice. We missed our included breakfast a few mornings...
My little quirks with this place is first, the wifi is spotty. The routers aren't very strong. So, if you need to do some business work, make sure you have a good data plan just incase. The wifi and television would frequently drop. But hey, not like you should be spending a lot of time in the room when visiting Florence.
My biggest issue is the house keeper. From the moment we arrived, she seemed irritated or had an attitude. We all have bad days, so let it go. But when we saw her downstairs at breakfast, she wouldn't say hello back, and give us a half ass frown. My parents received the same treatment. Said she was very short and very unpersonable. My first thought is, could be a language barrier. Even though, a wave and a smile in most languages means "hello." But, when we came downstairs, we noticed other people were offered coffee, and we were not even greeted. So, not sure if it's an "American" issue she has....or another issue she might have. Either way, it was obvious she was not a fan of us.
And then my other little thing is, I think they might have bed bugs. Or something like that. I noticed little bugs in the bed...and I got bit frequently during my stay. It could be a region thing...I dunno. IJS.
So to end....I'm thinking the next time in Florence, we will stay somewhere else. Would be nice to get nice treatment from the whole staff and not just the people at the front desk. The bug thing, I will test somewhere else...I do believe this place is affordable when it comes to Florence. Tucked away in the middle of town....walking distance to all the spots you wanna see, the markets, restaurants, bars, and train station. But, they should consider getting rid of their house keeper. Lol. She just ruins the experience the rest of the staff is trying to incorporate....and yes, even with that, we still tipped her. Lol read more
