This review is overdo. Traveling throughout Europe for three weeks in April, the Palazzo was to be crescendo of our trip. We were not disappointed. It is absolutely beautiful. It was as if we were guests of royalty, with access to some of the main rooms and steps away from the Duomo itself. The room was spectacular with preserved wood-beam ceilings and 16th century frescoes decorating the walls. Through the two large windows in our over-sized room, we could see the street below and to the left--the Duomo just a stone's throw away. You could not be closer to the sites, most of which are in walking distance, and I felt as though I was part of the community for those four days. Sara was our room attendant who was as attentive as she could be. Unfortunately, when we arrived, during my mother's first trip to Italy, she became very sick. Sara could not have been kinder to her. Here in this beautiful room, she convalesced while I, her daughter, did my best to make her comfortable. I could not have done that without Sara and the owner and managers' help (all of them). They did their best to facilitate our stay and accommodated me by arranging for me to visit all the sites that were close by, assuring me that they would call me if my mom needed me. I cannot say enough about how they made what could have been a bad memory a pleasant one. read more
