As a single mom at the age of 25, I was judged by many teachers who thought I was his sister. They even tried to pretend I was a student to fuel their endless gaslighting agendas. Because I am unemployed, I couldn';t give my son a nice homeade lunch. At his first day of school, he bit into a breaded chicken sandwhich-better described at roadkill. Breaks are taken from elementary school on to have students experience the world around them. Each year students take a different trip, starting in elementary school to places like MEsa Verde or Bent's Old Fort. In Middle School there are many programs to choose from that allow you to take a break from constant studying and explore topics that are interesting for you (I remember taking comic book art and acting). In High School the ECS program cannot be beat. A whole month off to study a topic in depth while traveling? I went to Italy and Bulgaria with these programs and felt that they enhanced my life and encouraged me to explore beyond what most students have when finishing high school. It also gives students the opportunity to play sports when they may not of had one in other schools. It may have changed since I was there, but anyone who wanted to play a sport could, and tryouts would only determine JV and Varsity levels. Small class sizes and dedicated and talented teachers make this school stand out. I owe a lot of my bright future to the great education I received at this school.

They are running this school into the ground at an alarming pace. Families are fleeing under the current administration. Our son was being sexually harassed constantly by some kids in his class and we were laughed at by Mrs. Blair and Mr. Randall when we brought it up (We have them on a voice recording doing this and the school still did nothing). They refused to take this seriously and our sons mental health suffered because of this. We were told by the administration that Vanguard was a choice school and we could go elsewhere if we didn't like it. The school refused to do anything until we threatened to go to the media and started a Title 9 Investigation. That investigation found repeated evidence that these kids were sexually harassing students in the classroom so they quietly moved them to another classroom and did nothing else to apologize. Administrators play favorites and will disrespect and treat children they do not like poorly. They favor the staff children for activities, sports, and all other extracurricular activities. They refuse to hire any additional guidance counselors and rely on one for the entire school. They do not take the kids mental health seriously and have nothing in place to help kids suffering with depression and bullying. If there is an instance of bullying they will move that child to another class where they can find more students to pick on and have no repercussions. Like many of the other families that are leaving this school we have removed our children from this toxic environment and are going to a different school district. It also looks as if google is removing/not posting negative reviews about this school.
