The wedding itself was held upstairs in a light and bright room. The reception was downstairs-- there was a separate area for the food buffet and an actual bar for drinks. It accommodated under 150 people no problem. I will say that besides having excellent staff, Price Creek Event Center also serves up some tasty food- which isn't always the case at weddings! Nearly all attendees were clean plate club members. The only glaring negative-- is the decor and whole vibe is kind of dated. The entire time I felt like I was in a 1980s movie. Price Creek Event Center is definitely worth considering if you're throwing an event in Amana -- it is just a stones throw away from the Hotel Millwright, the brewery and more!

I won't dock his five stars though, considering he made up for it by being very professional when we did talk. I definitely recommend him for weddings.

We've lived in Iowa City and worked on campus for a couple of years and (I'm embarrassed to say) finally visited. Pre-1857 Iowa City was the capital of the state of Iowa. This building is THE former state capital. I loved seeing how the building and its artifacts have been preserved. A heck of a lot of history here. We'll be back because there was a private event going on upstairs so we weren't able to explore those floors. Recommend. Consider donating to the museum/university's preservation efforts.
