Truly, I hate to do this, but it's been months and I am still pissed. Palmetto SA sent me a feedback form, and it actually reminded me that I needed to do just that. Give my feedback. Palmetto opening up the Myrtle Beach location was such a great occurrence for me. I have family that lives down the road so it was great having my dream gun shops down the road from me when visiting. Prior LEO, former gun shop owner, current LEO Firearms Instructor and SBO, I have seen the absolute worst and best of personalities, knowledge, and skills behind the gun counter and in this industry over the last 25 years. We even sell Right to Bear, (owned by Palmetto SA) in our school to students. The "employee" that helped me on my last Palmetto visit a few months ago was the Shooter McGavin to my Happy Gillmore Happy Place. I have NEVER had such an ignorant, uneducated, boring, sloth of a human being experience before in the gun world or for that matter in ANY retail setting. This guy was white, mid 50's, brown balding hair, glasses, and was wearing the customary dad uniform, (NB sneakers, high waisted jeans, and nerd-ness swag), all he needed was a fanny pack, and a pouch for his flip phone. Seriously, this guy should have been out in the parking lot collecting shopping carts.....preferably with a white styrofoam helmet on. I purchased a $1500 Colt AR-15. I used to be a dealer for Colt, I knew exactly what I wanted, did my research on Palmetto's website and I had it all priced out already. I NEVER discuss my background when in gun shops, this allows me to gauge a salesperson expertise or in this clown's case LACK of expertise. When I tell you this guy knew absolutely NOTHING, that would be an understatement. But what's so much worse was not only could this guy couldn't answer a single question, he actually had attitude, and the typical you're wasting my time personality, (I was at counter less then 10 minutes). I really appreciated this loser looking around and looking at watch several times as I was talking to him. What's my fault was not grabbing a manager and this guy and have a post-sale convo. In hindsight I should have, that's on me. But I also feel like I shouldn't have to be in this position in the first place. Maybe I'll take a drive into the ghetto, stop at a pawn shop and pick up a High Point, I'd probably get better service then I did at Palmetto State Armory........ If I said I wouldn't go back until this clown was gone, I'd probably be lying. But I have to admit, I'm not in any rush to go back after receiving such piss poor service. read more

Bought my used 9mm at the Myrtle Beach PSA in mid April. I was going to upgrade my purchase with a slightly less bulky handgun & went back to exchange the purchase approximately 30 days later. The customer service member took the item to the manager who offered 1/3 the purchase price for store credit. So there's no confusion- that's ONE THIRD the purchase price thirty days later. I was flabbergasted. I'll never purchase another item from that group of rip-off artists. read more

The "Mecca" for firearms as far as I'm concerned . Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Let me tell you about the star of the Show ! The firearms ....anything from 50ae (my fave) down to 22 mag. Bull pups , long guns , even a Barrett 50 and a M249 . Shotguns , micro semiautomatics . And not just firearms . They also have clothing and shoes as well . When I was there the "hey dudes" were on sale . Knives , hearing protection , safes etc etc . Prices are good to go as well . With my military discount makes it even sweeter . read more

The store was very clean and organized. Although they have a good selection it seems like there is less inventory in the store than what's available online. Some of their online prices were also cheaper than the store prices. One plus is they offered a $10 off $50 in the local coupon book which is pretty much unheard of with stores like this. Staff were friendly but not overly helpful. read more

Stay away from Palmetto..I have spent 1,000s of dollars through the years there. I just ordered a gun that came in last Saturday. I picked it up in Myrtle Beach. Its a North American Arms Ranger mini revolver. When i got home with it, i took it out of the box to show my wife. The hammer only pulled back about an 1/8 in and the cylinder jammed up. I immediately contacted Palmetto, and they said that its my problem!!! The gun was filthy inside and doesn't function!! I have to send the gun back to the manufacturer myself and pay the shipping and whatever the repair cost is!! I'm blown away that these people treated me this way. All i wanted was my money returned, or the gun replaced!! I will never buy anything from these thieves again read more

I think they have some kind of mind control-hypnosis-subliminal machine at this business. I lose my mind when I enter this store and spend a lot of $$. Yes, the customer service is first rate, great selection and value is superb, especially with the PSA products. I am normally a very conservative, judicious buyer but their hypnotic machines in their store front and the mind control emails every week make me lose all of this. I open the email, get mesmerized, and without thinking, drive down there and plunk down my credit card... then I have no memory of the ordeal. heh heh :) read more

YES, they are open. If you have any interest in hunting or just shooting for sport, camping, and everything for outdoor enthusiasts this is where you find quality equipment. There are guns galore and ammo as well.. There is also an indoor range. I have a hard time getting my husband out of this place, but they close at 8pm, so I know we'll be home by then. The staff is polite, friendly and helpful. I know we'll be back again soon. read more

I was at the range 7-10-2025 and a guy two shooting stations down came into my shooting position to sweep my feet with a broom. There are no RSO watching and there is no safety at this range. I explained to the staff how dangerous their property is a guy said I will go talk to them. The woman behind the counter looked really mad and threw my ID down on the counter and walked away with out saying a word. I will never return. read more

My ar10 with its heavy trigger was useless for accuracy beyond 150 yards I got one of staff to help me and he was a friendly guy who led me to a trigger in my budget. It was the lowest price one there but he assured me it was high quality even though i thought more expensive is better. I was wrong . 150 to 200 bucks less was the palmetto ar trigger . It's so smooth and crisp . I'm happy to say I got great help. Bought some good priced ammo too. Wow really well stocked store. I'll be there more often now for sure read more

Went to use their pistol range for the first time today. Stood at the counter for several minutes before someone offered to help, even though another guy was sitting on his backside doing nothing within a few feet of where I stood. After filling out the paper work, I placed my pistol carrying case on the counter for inspection. The guy opened it and informed me that the magazines could not be loaded and proceeded to unload them. I have never encountered this before. As I have issues with one of my hands, loading the magazines is difficult. Therefore, I told him to stop. I would go elsewhere. Nice looking store. But too many issues. And too many other places with more accommodating employees. Obviously, I won't be seen in this store again. read more

Not impressed. Took forever to get some assistance at the gun counter. When someone finally acknowledged us the smart ass at the gun bar told my partner that "a raised hand usually helps" or some shit. He personally took it upon himself to make sure that even though current SC state laws limiting purchasing plastic (frames and lowers) for outsiders, Tony made sure that I was able to get my birthday Dagger build started. nightmare! Ordered online (of course) unable to make contact with a human at any time during the process. I sent two messages via their email addresses, no response. My credit card was charged but later rejected by PSA. I tried to use my credit card directly, was forced to use Paypal. Used it but they or PSA declined the charge. Maybe because they list a S. Carolina address but are doing business from China. Save your time and money. Their prices are great for a reason, their are incompetent and I have no assurance that I'm dealing with a person or AI. As a red blooded God fearing gun loving patriotic and proud South Carolinian I have spent time at most 2A stores and ranges in the state at some point but this location goes above and beyond. From the parking lot to the swept brass I can't find anything that I would change. David the manager is a knowledgeable Veteran that treats everyone like family. The store has everything, and I do mean everything you could need. It's hotter than hell here in the summer but their A/C is cooler than the beer in a Yeti cooler. The ammo they manufacture comes at unbeatable prices and the customer service in store and over the phone treat you like royalty. As far as the range goes, I have never experienced a more enjoyable range : The temperature is great for those reloading frequently wanting to avoid the sweat, the lanes are spacious, brass is always swept, target tracks move fast and are digitally calculated, their span of targets is vast and as a member you never feel rushed to leave lanes since there are so many. Lastly, the range officers appear to all be law enforcement / military with vast knowledge and experience of any and all firearms - they are all friendly and provide advice and education that most would have to pay for so even the least experienced shooters feel at home. Whomever hired the staff at PSA deserves a raise because we can't find someone anywhere in the store or range that doesn't make us want to return the next day. Just purchased a PSA AR-10 from the Myrtle Beach Store. So far great rifle, great service. I had been looking for a Ruger brand AR 10 that was on sale on their internet page, but Nancy the salesperson made a point to look at the PSA platforms. I was convinced and purchased a PSA AR 10. My issue is, When I got home, I looked up the EXACT same rifle on their webpage and discovered it was $70 cheaper online. I called the store and was told they did not know the DAILY deals at the store. I asked if I could get the $70 credit and was told they were sorry. My point, If you want a better deal, use the internet, There is NO advantage to go to the store. You would think the store's computerized cash registers would have the daily updates. read more

While visiting my daughter at the beach I stopped in because they had a tactical 12 gauge pump shotgun on sale in stock here that the store in Denver NC near my house didn't have and I couldn't order it online and have it shipped to the Denver store because for some unknown reason the Denver store was not allowing you to ship online orders to that store. I called numerous times to make sure the shotgun I wanted was in stock here before finally just driving to the store because I couldn't get anyone to answer the phone. I had to show the employee that waited on me the shotgun I wanted on my phone at least four times before he finally understood which shotgun I wanted. Then It took them almost twenty minutes to find it even though they had four in stock. Then after they found it, for some reason they had to call a manager over to verify that the sales price on it was correct even though the sales price was clearly posted online which again I showed them on my phone. When my background check was completed, I had to stand around another 45 minutes waiting on the employees and a manager at the kiosk to finally finish everything up and walk my shotgun up front the the registers. The girl that walked the shotgun up to the registers didn't say word to me on the way up there, she just left it at the registers and walked away. When I checked out there was no greeting and no thank you from the cashier Anne for my purchase all she said to me was if I had any problems to call the manufacturer. SMFH! Then two days later I get a call to come back to the store to correct a very minor spelling error that was missed by both an employee and a manager double checking the paperwork to prevent something like this from happening before I left the store. Thank goodness I was still at the beach and had not gone back to NC yet. I was also told, incorrectly I might add, that I could not buy a handgun here because I lived out of state. Really?? If you can't buy a handgun out of state how do you think people buy handguns from out of state sellers on websites such as Gun Broker and Grab A Gun? Because Federal law says you can buy a handgun out of state, it just has to be shipped to an FFL holder in your state of residence to do the background check and complete the paperwork before you take possession of it, so its quite obvious the employees here need more training on the laws concerning handgun purchases so they won't give customers wrong information and prevent them from buying a handgun they should be able to purchase. On my next trip to Myrtle Beach I will have to think long and hard about a second visit to Palmetto State Armory because my first visit was less than stellar and the customer service left a whole lot to be desired. read more

Ammo supplies are good despite the daily tourist stockpiling activity. Elite and Cormac need to trim their prices or they will go the way of the dinosaur.
