I volunteered as part of the Black Young Professionals Community Food Drive, and was able to see their immaculately clean and stocked pantry, some behind the scenes organizational measures, and really got a sense for the scope of the work Cameron is doing for our community. The organization has three spaces along Cameron street, including a playground, food pantry, garden, youth space, and so much more. The exterior of the main building is covered in gorgeous art, and you can tell the care that goes into upkeep, especially given the steadfast and long history Cameron has. Despite their name, the organization does not actually have a religious affiliation. I know volunteering here has changed a bit since the COVID-19 pandemic, but there is a form to fill out on their website if you're interested in getting involved, along with their current list of needs, which is as simple as adding a few items to your upcoming Amazon order. I look forward to continuing to follow and support this organization for years to come!

They provide so many impactful community-organized events. Children in the neighborhood can attend their FREE afterschool program for grades K-12. There are food banks that can be utilized monthly, for FREE. Cameron Community Ministries also has clothing, provide, which is so much more resourceful for the people in need. I will definitely look to donate clothes at Cameron to provide used clothing for FREE. This organization should receive more recognition for its efforts - the members and volunteers of the organization exert lots of care and commitment for the community.
