    Sopes de Pollo

We came here when the wait at every popular and "hyped" restaurant in Santa Fe had 2+ hour wait times. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We passed by it and decided to come in on a whim due to the gorgeous decor and sexy, lively vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This just goes to show you that you can find gems outside of all of the overhyped restaurants! Our server was awesome, and the food and drinks were both wonderful. The best part was that there was no wait although the restaurant was full. The Ceviche was a substantial portion and served fresh with bright flavors. We enjoyed the Sopes de Pollo as nice little bites, especially the vibrant green sauce on top. The surprising winner of the night were the snap peas which were perfectly prepared and great way to get our veggies in.

Ordered the short rib. It was not a short rib. How can they sub a meat that is not on the menu. Very disappointed. We had the short ribs earlier but now a few months later they sub a cheaper cut?! Not a good thing for this otherwise great restaurant. All I can say is don't go on Sunday. The desserts were not available either. Our server was very apologetic. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is nice but the sub was terrible.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

YUM! Wow. I wasn't sure about this place when my husband suggested it because we had friends in town and I wanted to make sure they got good food. And now I know to take people back! Personally, I think my nachos were the best. Stacked with everything and beautifully placed. I got the steak added and it was actually medium rare steak and my husband's tacos were amazing! The waiter was considerate and kind taking a side off our ticket when it came out at the end of our meal.

Had dinner here on one of our nights in Santa Fe. Many lists recommended this place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside was very cute, we made reservations for the patio and it was quaint and cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Cocktails and mocktails were good. Tried their tacos negros (rockfish tacos) and my bf had their steak fajitas. We both enjoyed our meals. And had their passion fruit tres leches--- which was top notch.

The drinks, food & service were all wonderful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat on the patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Lena was our server. She was helpful. Our favorites were the beef fajita nachos the verde michelada. Shishito peppers ...fabulous. Yummy passion fruit cake.

Fabulous is every way! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We enjoyed dinner here with friends last night and the service was impeccable to outdoor patio was beautiful and the food was incredible.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had a nice visit with the proprietor who obviously takes a lot of pride in her restaurant. We started with a special tomato salad with an amazing salsa which was a flavor explosion. I hope this makes it onto the regular menu. I had the grilled sea bass (white bean salad, tender garden herbs, aji amarillo-preserved lemon salsa) which was amazing. I loved the yellow salsa. I also tried the ceviche which was the best I've ever had (baja sea bass, lime, pico de gallo, serrano) So good! Others in our group had the rockfish tacos and the short rib barbacoa. Everyone loved their meals and drinks. I recommend the mariposa margarita.

10/10 experience! We went for Saturday brunch, and the vibe was so relaxing. Gorgeously decorated with bright florals and comfy seating. We were lucky enough to catch the jazz duet, and the singer had a beautiful voice. The food was fresh and authentic -- we loved the Tacos de Papa, Avocado Huarache and Short Rib Hash. Waitstaff was friendly and efficient. A perfect finish to a 4-day visit. Highly recommend!

Went here again to try their new brunch menu! Very delicious as always, the tacos look small but they're very filling. The salsas are great and I recommend ordering extra to make sure you get a good amount on your tacos. My friend got the pancake and it was also very delicious, highly recommend trying it out! Plus their drinks are delicious as always.

Vibes 10/10. Food, a bit overpriced. We got the housemade salsas and chips which were delish and a perfect pairing to the La Bruma Tonic. The Tacos Negros were packed with ingredients, but lacked a bit of flavor (we had to add additional salsas to the one it came with). And again, not worth

This is a vibe-y and great spot! Highly recommend making a reservation, especially for weekends. I made a reservation the night before for an early dinner for myself and my mom for Mother's Day, which came in handy because it ended up being packed inside. We went for a lighter dinner with a few different appetizers, including the Pepita Salad, the tostaditas de atun, and the brussel sprouts. All of these were really delicious, and I saw the nachos and fish tacos at other tables and if I were hungrier, I would have ordered them as well. We also got the churros which were okay. I also ordered a paloma because duh and it was delicious, very well balanced.

Had a Sunday night reservation during our stay in Santa Fe. This place was on all the lists of favorites from several Airbnb hosts. We ordered the salsas and quac - all so so good. Fresh and unique and flavorful. I wanted to drink all the salsas - that good For our mains we got the fish tacos and steak fajitas. Everything was super delicious. The only negative thing I'll mention is that $20 for two tacos seemed really steep. No sides with that. So if you are hungry, don't get this as your dish without considering this. The pineapple spicy margs were very good!! Got a few of those. Our server was very sweet and kind! Sadly they were sold out of the churros, which I would have loved to try. Next trip!

Unfortunately I was highly disappointed by food and service. I ordered fish and shrimp taco. The food wasn't bad but it's didn't come with a side of salsa or any sort of sauce. It did comes with a side of rice which I felt was under seasoned. The service was slow. I walked in around 1pm and door was locked. I was surprised to find them close even though online says that they are open at 11am that day. I checked on google and it was suppose to be open. I called and they said that they are open but waiting for alcohol to be delivered at 3pm. Did they assume that every customer coming in is ordering alcohol? As far as I understand this is a restaurant that serves food and alcohol and not a bar. Shortly after my arrival, there was a large tour with 12 people showed up. I could see that the waiter was a bit flustered because he also had to tend to other customer as well as the tour. I guess this is where the tour take people for authentic taco experience. In my opinion these are more toned down gringo tacos. My taco didn't come with a side of sauce like everyone else. I also noticed that the tour all received a side of salsa which I didn't. I'm not sure if the waiter forgot. I had to flag down the waiter a few time because he also forgot my drink. I also ordered an agua Fresca watermelon and it wasn't made of real watermelon but flavor syrup from the bar. I wished I had known that it wasn't real melon. 2.5 stars for the food and 2 for service. Again food wasn't terrible, but certainly wasn't close to be the best.

I have been coming here for thirty-five years, and it blows my mind that after more than three decades, it keeps reaching new heights while fiercely retaining everything that made it legendary in the first place: the unbeatable high quality, the remarkably affordable prices, and those effortlessly cool, historic vibes. It is a rare, beautiful gem that refuses to compromise its soul, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. This visit was extra special because my fiancé was a first-timer, and he was instantly converted, falling just as madly in love with the magic of this place as I did decades ago. On this particular afternoon, the lines were wrapped around the courtyard and the energy was absolutely electric. It was hella busy, which is a testament to how beloved this institution remains. Rather than waiting for a table, we decided to grab our food to go--a move that turned out to be pure perfection. We took our feast over to the historic plaza square, found a spot to sit, and ate under the shade of the trees while listening to live music drift through the air. With a beautiful, cool mountain breeze rustling through the plaza, it was the most quintessential, magical Santa Fe experience you could ever ask for. As for the food, it remains an absolute revelation. I ordered my enchiladas "Christmas" style, split right down the middle with both their famous, deeply savory red chile and their bright, perfectly spiced green chile. The first bite instantly reminded me why no one else can touch what they do here. The blue corn tortillas were tender, the cheese was perfectly melted, and the chiles carried that robust, earthy, authentic New Mexico heat that warms you from the inside out. It is a flawless execution of culinary tradition. To be able to deliver that level of world-class, scratch-made perfection at a price point that still feels incredibly generous is nothing short of a miracle. Whether you sit in their enchanting, labyrinthine dining rooms or pack it up for a picnic on the square, The Shed is the absolute pinnacle of the Santa Fe spirit.

The red has that deep, earthy flavor with just the right kick, while the green brings a brighter, roasted heat that balances everything out. Together? That classic "Christmas style" combo that hits on every level. The masa was soft and flavorful (not dry like you get at some places), and the filling was generous and well-seasoned. The sides sealed the deal--fluffy Spanish rice, hearty beans, and a fresh, crisp salad that cut through the richness perfectly. Portion size was solid, presentation was clean, and everything tasted like it was made with care--not rushed, not watered down for tourists. Service was quick, friendly, and exactly what you want when you're trying to keep a night moving. Authentic, satisfying, and exactly what you hope for when you come to Santa Fe.
