We used to order from Pan Pan about once a month. Not anymore. We ordered the dinner combination platter of both Szechuan shrimp & pepper steak. I noticed that it was mostly all rice and then they put a little bit of the Szechuan shrimp and the pepper steak on top. The eggroll was horrible. It had some kind of little bits of meat or something in it. It's too bad because everything used to be good. We will find a new Chinese restaurant to order our takeout. read more

This is by far one of the best chinese places in the area. You definitely get your moneys worth here, decent sized portions for a decent price. I usually just get the Hunan or General Chicken. I would have given them 5 stars, but they just can't seem to make the food as spicy as I want it, no matter how much they try. I really only like extra, extra spicy chinese food. This place can't make the food extra, extra spicy, but at least they try. After a long day, on our way home we decided to get carry out from our local Chinese Restaurant but they weren't open so we decided to give Pan-Pan a try. The only word that comes to mind is "Disappointed". We know it's a crap shoot when it comes to Chinese and maybe it's because the chicken sat all day long under a heat lamp but I order sweet and sour chicken, the chicken was dried out and some pieces were like chewing rubber. The Crab Rangoon was flat, hardly had any filling inside. Wife had dumplings and egg drop soup. I haven't ordered any full meals for carry out yet. You can eat in at one of the 4 tables here but I believe this is primarily carry out. This place changed owners a couple of years ago and I think they are better now for what I get for carry out; A small Won Ton soup and 2 orders of Spring Rolls (4 total). The soup is probably about 16/18 oz. Very clean and tasty. The broth is pretty much clear with a slight hue of golden yellow. It includes a few thin shaves of carrot, chopped green onion, a bit of Bok Choi leaf and 3 pork filled dumplings. Many other restaurants only give 2. And it's still steaming hot in this freezing weather at home 5 miles away. The Spring Rolls are the best so far. Perfectly deep-fried golden and tasty shredded cabbage and spices inside. I'm always impressed by the food quality and the prices are very reasonable especially when compared to other places in the Livonia area. My favorite dish is their pan-pan chicken which includes pineapple. You can get the spice level adjusted to your wishing. My only wish is that they served warm rolls like you can get at other places.
