As we traversed through the narrow streets and cobbled pavement we passed by a most curious looking shop with all kinds of sweet and savory pastries inside. Immediately catching my eye, I urged my wife to enter the store and treat ourselves to a luxury that we do not commonly enjoy in the states: Cheesecake. After our initial visit in Barcelona, we were slightly disheartened by the cheesecake which we ate there, so at first there was a certain hesitancy with buying this cake. Then, however, we watched as the lady cut a pristine piece and wrapped it in this beautiful outerwear; we knew at that moment we were in for a treat. A treat, it was. From the moment we took our first bite our senses were overwhelmed by the deliciousness of this cake. I myself do not often eat cake, as I commonly find it bland and without too much flavor. This cake was the essence of perfection. A harder outside tunneling towards a creamier inside, with the top lightly toasted. Not a crumb was left after we were done. These people are geniuses.
