Panda Restaurant, Davidson. If you grew up in Rural anywhere and there was a Chinese restaurant and you want to taste those fries and that gravy and get a bit of nostalgia from those Canadian Chinese menus, stop here instead of that dump Timmies/DQ for lunch. We ordered veal cutlets and hamburger steak( classics) and traded cutlets and homemade patty with onions and mushrooms. Did not disappoint. As a group of 25 we were looking for a place to relax and fill our hungry kids. We are part of a hockey team so many of the diners are 11/12 years old. Food was hot, tasty, portions were huge, price was great. The waitress grabbed our order, kept coffee coming and kept the boys in line. We ordered off the breakfast menu, lunch and chinese menu. A hidden gem in between Saskatoon & Regina! We stumbled upon this place whilst meeting family at the nearby Subway. I noticed our meeting place had no vehicles outside but 100 meters further up the road was the 'Panda Cafe' with 8 vehicles out front of it. I tried convincing us to switch over there to try but lost the vote :(. Fortunately, we were meeting a week later & all agree to give it a try. The owners are extremely friendly & we sat down. I wanted a poutine despite the main cuisine obviously being Chinese food (note, there are many Canadian foods on the menu too). Between all of us, we had children's burgers (um full size!), chicken fingers (huge!), a fried rice mushroom dish, a 'dinner for one' (fried rice, MASSIVE chicken balls, glorious ginger beef), & a vegetable stir fry (the flavour was oh so good). The poutine was meh, neither bad nor noteworthy, but everything else was phenomenal! We haven't had Chinese food this good in years! We will definitely be visiting this place more frequently when stopping in Davidson for a bite (no more DQ, A&W, or other fast food/mediocre meals). A Classic Prairie Diner. Spotlessly clean. Very good Western and Chinese food. Fast, friendly service. Just off the highway. Well worth the stop. read more
