I don't usually do reviews for chain or fast food restaurants, but I'm making an exception this case. The service was absolutely phenomenal at the Covington location. I have gone in there and been waited on by a couple of surly workers. Last week was a refreshing change and I'm glad I did. I ordered the kung pao chicken and beef broccoli. Both entrées were hot and fresh and quickly plated. The dining room was clean as were the restrooms. The staff stayed busy the entire time that I was there and were helpful when I had a question. Watched an employee with gloves on shake multiple customers/people's hands, then proceed to make my food with the same gloves. I think this is way worse than people not wearing a mask. This location sucks. I ordered a kids meal with teriyaki chicken and chow mein and a bowl with Kung Pao chicken and chow mein. Both orders were given orange chicken which is too spicy for the kid's meal but also wasn't ordered at al. The orange chicken was also ROCK SOLID and completely inedible. To top that, there was barely any chow mein in the bowl at all. Even with the orange chicken on top, the bowl wasn't even filled past half way. Made a pick-up order online like I have before. Walked to the restaurant to pick it up and the lobby doors were locked. Employee inside motioned for me to use the drive thru for pickup. Through charades, I tried to explain that I did not have a car. They didn't get it. I tried knocking on the door and side door numerous times to just try and speak with someone. Keeping in mind that this is Chinese fast food as I write and you read this review. So as far as fast foods go Panda is a place we would return to. Yes Panda Express is a great fast food option. This Panda has a drive thru and for that gets an extra star. The orange chicken is a little too sweet and the mushrooms chicken has dark chicken meat. These are the items I get here. The crab wontons are another thing I would normally order but they are usually over cooked or old here. Otherwise the food is usually very fresh at this location. This location tends to get very busy during normal dinner time. They seems to handle the rush fairly well. We've only had to wait an eternity once. We usually end up visiting at least once every few months. I personally feel like every Panda location should be drive thru. As long as you keep in mind this is fast food you will be ok. read more

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Sunday evening around 550.pm. I wait in a very long line in the drive-through, but it's Sunday night so you expect a line. I finally get up to the order display and nobody is taking my order. I wait for 7 minutes, even asking hello hello several times. This is after waiting 15 minutes just to get to the order display/speaker. So after waiting, and nobody responds, I drive to the window. A woman opens the window, and I explain the situation and politely ask her to just place my order now. She looked confused and said she just took an order from the car behind me. Yes, after I waited seven minutes for the same service and pulled up right to the window. To my shock she says she has to check to see if that is possible...what? Why would that not be possible and why would she have to check to see if it is? What level of incompetence is this. we're in 2023 they cannot simply take my order at the window because they failed to take it where they're supposed to. She then comes back and asked me if I mind driving around again, not seeming to realize I'm picking up food for family and I don't want to spend another 23 to 25 minutes combined waiting. Again! Panda Express is a great company. I have been to several this week, and the customer service at other locations I went to, in Tukwila and Federal Way, was nothing but stellar. However, I was at the Covington, WA location at around 7:55 pm tonight to place and pick up and order. The hostess taking my other asked some other hostess a question for assistance, I believe that she must be a supervisor. She came over to help. Despite being polite as I was placing my order, she raised her voice at me and was absolutely rude. Now hear this, "I get it that you might be having a bad day, but you cannot lash out at your customers. Be polite in asserting your position. Having an an acerbic attitude will put a hole in the crucible of Panda Express's profitability." That put a bad taste in my experience at this location. My advise is that the store manager needs to have a word with all his/her associates and train them on customer service. If the District Manager or Regionals covering this area stumble over this, they might need to have a heart-to-heart with associates. All associates at this particular location may need some re-education on the art of politeness. Whether the management like it or not, hear this, "Bad customer service is bad for business." This location will not see my personal business for a while, if ever again. This is just my personal resolve, others who may have had a positive experience may beg to differ. Where do I start? I'm actually a huge fan of panda. It's usually decent fast food Chinese that my kids like and I can find both healthy and fried goodies. Yesterday my son and I came by for lunch. One of the gals that was working the drive through dropped something (a large price of plastic but who knows what it was or where it came from) into the chow menu as she was refilling the container. My food had already been put onto the plate when this happened (so ok) the guy behind me says "10 second rule" the gal just continues refilling the container like no one had seen it (and whatever it was she threw into the garbage) and then filling peoples containers. What this tells me is that I shouldn't eat at this particular panda in the future as if they do this when people are watching what happens when we aren't? So I ordered a bowl with chow mein and mushroom chicken (usually my favorite but really this should have been called mushrooms and zucchini in a thick gravy sauce) and my son ordered a plate with double orange chicken. I go to pay and the gal rings me up and proceeds to charge me an extra $.75 for each meal for the chow mein. I called her on it and she subtracted it by saying oops. But again makes me wonder how many times this has happened and I didn't catch it. Long story short. If you want quick Chinese. This is a so-called Chinese Food Chain. What can I say? The food is mediocre at best. This is a place I go when I'm running errands and need something quick and don't have to get out of my car since they have a drive-through. Did I say quick? I always make that mistake and never learn my lesson. You're actually much better walking into the place as the drive-through is ultra slow. You're just screwed if there are several other cars ahead of you. The service is OK. Nothing that stands out to me. As far as the food is concerned. The only thing I like is their Honey Walnut Shrimp. The other food items I don't really care for. I usually get their bowls. It's a bit pricey for what you get.
