Sat in drive thru for 10 minutes and I ordered orange chicken and honey walnut shrimp. The drive thru employee informed me that it would be a 15-20 minute wait for orange chicken and I agreed to wait. I was the first car waiting for food. After 20 Minutes the car next to me who was behind me received her order. I asked the employee the status of my order. She came back and said the order was never made. Then she comes back again and said there was no honey walnut shrimp (which is not what I was originally waiting for). So after 30 minutes I had no food and a bunch of time wasted for nothing. This place is a hit or miss I guess just depending on when you go. The one in temple is always disappointing, so I started coming to this one when I'm in the area. When I went a couple weeks ago, the food was great. Everything was hot and fresh, the chicken was crispy, and there was plenty of sauce. But when I went today, it was absolutely awful. The chicken was only somewhat warm, pretty soggy like it had been sitting out all day, and half of what they gave me didn't even have any sauce on it, so it was inedible. What was really messed up though was when the woman getting my food purposely scooped out the chicken that didn't have sauce. There wasn't a lot left in the bowl, but the chicken on one side of the bowl had a lot more sauce than on the other side. The side with more sauce was the side closest to her, so all she had to do was scoop it out. But she turned the bowl around to get the chicken without sauce. It doesn't count as orange chicken if there isn't orange sauce on it. So I couldn't eat half of what I paid for. Also didn't give me any fortune cookies. And to top it off, I had to listen to the panda employees at the next table over complaining pretty loudly about coworkers or the boss or someone while I was trying to eat. The only reason I gave them more than one star is because the food was good last time I went. But this visit definitely deserves zero stars. read more

If you plan on going to the Panda Express in Harker Heights before they close you better get there before they try to lock the doors on you The hour on the restaurant says 9:30 pm, they will lock the doors between 9:05 & 9:15 and watch customers walk up and try to open the doors. I was inside the restaurant when I overheard one of the employee asked the other employee why she was locking the doors so early, her reply to him was that the night manager gave her the keys and told her to lock the doors early. Consistently the worst restaurant in Harker Heights after 8:30p. Tonight I was greeted by Shea. She joyfully informed me everything on the menu was made to order and it would take 20-30 mins to prepare. When I said that would be okay, she instantly got disappointed. The worker couldn't get my order right after two tries I explained it clearly with the worker saying she understood clearly thence picked up the order at window and the order was wrong I had to tell the worker again at the window about what I ordered with no apologies and the closing of the service drive through window in my face. This has to be the worst Panda I've ever experienced and I've been to many. We stood at the counter for a while waiting for anybody to even acknowledge us. There was nobody else in line and MULTIPLE employees behind the counter. When we were finally greeted by an employee, it was with "what did you guys want?". Really?? We gave our first order, to which the employee turned around and started speaking with a group of other employees without saying a word to us. He didn't seem to have any intention of helping us. This is one of my favorite places to go within the Killeen area. I've been a regular over the past couple of years and although they seem to always be busy on a Friday night with somewhat of a wait. My children and I have made it part of our weekend ritual. I've never had a bad or terrible experience here and the staff has always been attentive so I really can't relate to and was surprised to see as many negative reviews posted. The portions are respectable and my favorite entree is the Beijing beef if you haven't tried it that's my recommendation. Preparing the drive through orders does seem to take precedence over the line for dine in and that can be a little annoying especially if you see the pan of your favorite entree vanish right before your eyes and the result is a wait for more to be prepared. Kind of seems unfair but overall I've always been satisfied and I think reasonable expectations are either met or exceeded at this location. Good people doing a great job, keep up the good work. Just a little hint to up your portion when you order a "plate". Request your meal in the to go container. They say it's the same portions but I say you get a little extra that way read more

If it could be ZERO STARS RIGHT NOW IT WOULD BE! Been coming here every so often since it opened and it's usually just OK (what can you expect from a fast food Chinese Chain restaurant right?). Well, tonight they succeeded in losing my business and I guarantee I'll also be doing their survey to report what happened. It was absolute PANDAmonium in there with a line of cars in the drive thru out their parking lot and a line inside to the door. So I understand they were busy and frazzled but what I was subjected to was utter non-sense. 1st of all no welcome just stares, dagger stares (sorry you hate your job) I still smiled as I spoke up to order. They made one plate quickly, by the second plate I ordered half chow mein half vegetables. MISTAKE. The lady pulled out a big ladle of vegetables AND HAIR!!! Gross. I pointed the long blond hair out and she was grossed out. She took the scoop and dangling hair off my plate back into the bowl from which it came. Eww. She said sorry and tried to proceed??? Really? She I'm sure saw the look of shock and disgust on my face and took the veggies away, threw away my plate and started over. THEN mistake #3 as she tells me they're out of something and I'm choosing something else another dagger thrower makes her stop and informs the other two ladies on the line that they need to all stop everything they're doing and restock lids and bowls and plates. So now I'm expected to wait even though she's already made two/four of my plates and already has the other two plates in hand? Yes. That's exactly what they expected. And they were wrong. I enjoy eating at Panda Express but I would have to say this is NOT authentic Chinese food. This restaurant is your ideal Americanized drive thru Chinese restaurant. Since Panda Express is a well known franchise, you expect the same taste, quality and price as all other Panda Express. The reason why I come here is because it is conveniently located, affordable and the taste is the same as the Panda Express in Hawaii so I am not disappointed. I usually get the bowl of chow mein and orange chicken for $4.99 plus a chicken egg roll. I'd rather come here to get my usual order than to go to the nearby Chinese buffet and get disappointed by their chow mein or orange chicken. This is by far my favorite Americanized Chinese restaurant and if I'm craving more authentic Chinese food than I would have Chinese food in Chinatown in Hawaii. Teriyaki chicken is always a half hour wait (or they outright refuse to make it) and there is never any white rice (even though all you need to do is put it in the cooker?) When they first opened, they were awesome, so good no matter which location. For a few years their food was great and it was reasonably priced. In 2019, well before covid, they raised their prices and the quality of their food went through the floor. They also cut the size of their portions by about a third. Panda Express didn't disappoint...the food was crappy, to say the least. The 'Steak' (and you were charged 'extra' for this 'gourmet' dish), was tough as shoe leather. The orange chicken was incredibly chewy and the fried rice was filled with huge clumps of stuck together rice. I guess somebody was too lazy to stir the pot or they were on their cell phones, or they just plain think they can do what they want in this environment because people who own places like this dump are desperate for anything on two legs.
