How is it possible for a drive thru window to take a half hour to get my food? I was blocked in and made late for work because it was impossible to get out of the line once in it. So after waiting what seemed an eternity to get my food at the window I rush off to work only to find that my food is cold. Not lukewarm, not room temperature, cold. I had to drive at the most, 2 minutes from the Panda Express to my place of work. An impossible amount of time for food to go from serving temperature to cold. I really hope the team at Panda can pull themselves together because I would like to go again but don't want to risk another experience like that. read more

Was happy to see this location open here and with a drive thru! Checked it out today on my lunch break and used the drive-thru. Almost 30 minutes in the drive thru to get my lunch and had to specifically ask for sweet and sour sauce for the veggie spring rolls. The person working the drive-thru advised that it would be a 5 minute wait for the teriyaki chicken as they were out and cooking more. Since I had already waited a little over 15 minutes just to make it to the ordering screen I wasn't worried about 5 minutes more. Well it was more like another 15 or so minutes until I finally arrived at the window to pay and receive my food. When I pulled up to the window I could see inside the restaurant and there was no one in line and several employees that didn't seem to be doing much of anything. There was a line of about 6 cars total in the drive-thru and we all had been waiting for quite a while. Other locations of Panda Express the staff are moving so fast and working together to accomplish their goals. This store needs some assistance with customer service and communication for sure. I did give this 2 stars due to the quality of the food. I didn't receive so much as a sorry for the wait, or sorry for not putting any sauce in the bag. That would have been nice and shown that they recognize these are issues. I'm not sure I'll be back to this location. I live in Sparks and go to the Spanish Springs location frequently with my family and that is most likely where I'll continue going. read more

No bum kick from me. I went in on a weekday for lunch with my wife. It was a bit disconcerting to see the empty hot buffet table when I arrived, because all of the food is prepped in back (which is actually more sanitary). I can't do it anymore. Every time I come to this location they mess up my order, and the service is terrible. Stopped to get my wife and I dinner tonight and waited in the drive thru for over 30 minutes. Ordered a plate with orange chicken as both entrees, chow mein, an order of spring rolls, as well as a bowl with teriyaki chicken and white rice. They gave me barely any orange chicken, gave my wife barely any chicken in her bowl, forgot the spring rolls, didn't include teriyaki sauce for the chicken or soy sauce in the bag even though I specifically asked for it. When I went back in just to ask for the spring rolls they were rude and inattentive. This location has unfortunately been consistently awful for me and my family, I'm tired of having to pull over, get out of the car and go inside to have my order completed only to be met with apathy. I agree with the other reviews. Food at this location is inconsistent with other locations and portions are much smaller. I've been here a few times now hoping that the restaurant just needs to work some kinks out since they haven't been open for long but every time is just as disappointing as the last. The last time I visited, an employee began to take my order then put a finger up and told me to hold on as she greeted someone on her headset. She then proceeded to box up all the chow mein on the line and told me I'd have to wait if I wanted more, then put me on hold again. The restaurant was empty but I had to wait because it seems that the employees don't know how to handle dine in and drive thru customers. First time we have tried this location. Last time we will go here. Took nearly 20 minutes to get the food. After the wait, they served light portions in comparison to other Panda Express restaurants. On top of that the cashier was literally swinging the bag around and handed it to me with the food sideways, so thanks for putting half the food in the bag. If you want to buy food from people who think they're better than you, then this Panda Express is perfect for you. This location is so great that they have a very small selection. That may sound like a bad thing but hey less choices right?!? You will be greeted with nothing other than the upmost, state of the art snootiness. I mean nothing says great customer service like feeling stupid! But once you put in your order, you're well on your way to dinner town. But wait! Not so hungry? That's okay, the very friendly staff makes sure you don't end up with too much food, because who wants the added burden of getting a decent amount of food for the price you pay? Not me I'll tell ya! But don't worry, if they don't have the entree you want they let you know that they can make another batch in five minutes but actually it only takes fifteen minutes, that's blazing fast service. And the operation of the store is just flawless. This Panda Express just opened. When this Panda Express opened they had manager's from other locations helping out with organizing the flow of the orders. So there weren't long lines. Food was ready in a timely manner. The restaurant seating was clean, etc. However, I hate to report that now the service is SLOW!!! The staff waits until the last minute to prepare food. They give you smaller portions than that of the one on Kietzke. The soda area, floor and tables are gross. The whole place looks and feels dirty and it just opened up!!! The drive up is usually closed/not available as well. Everyone I talk to says they really wanted this chain in the south of Reno but wish it were better run, better portion size as the other Panda' and cleaner. The service is waaaaaaay too slow!!!!!! They could be making so much more money at this site. However, until they get their acts together or go under new management, they won't realize their full potential in sales nor will they keep the community wanting to eat there. read more

I think there needs to be some training at the South Meadows Panda Express. If you go between 3-5 pm they are always out of teriyaki chicken and the sauce. When you mention it to management your given one excuse after another. Clearly management does not understand the concept of supply and demand. To be told that they sold out of something by 4 pm for the day is bad for business. Not sure if management has changed since opening but customer service has gone down hill. I was in a hurry and drove thru the drive thru and ordered Orange Chicken and Teriyaki chicken but was told that the Teriyaki was unavailable so I ordered Sweetfire instead. When I got home I noticed that my order was half complete. A small portion of Sweetfire and no Orange Chicken at all. I reviewed my order to make sure I did order it and yes I did pay for it. Very disappointed as I didn't have time to go back. Example...we were told we could not order vegetables because there was no one to chop broccoli. I have been through the drive thru at least 3 times and I've had to wait over 15 minutes just to get a side of chow mein with my food. Decided to go to Panda instead of Chipotle next door. Bad choice. They were out of most things-including fountain drinks. We had to wait 15 mins before our food was finished (mostly second choices because they were out of so much stuff). We got bottled tea and it was warm. An entire ice bucket was sitting out by the fountain drink dispenser and half melted. Looks like they opened it without enough guidance to keep it going. I love Panda Express but the turn over at this store may be part of its problem. We went through the drive through due to the double mastectomy I went through just a few days earlier. I ordered 4 bowls and a large a la Cart entree. One of my bowls would be ready in 5-8 mins. so they asked me to wait. I parked in front and after 15 mins. I asked my 14 year old son to go in with the receipt and my card to get our order. He came out with a bag and handed me my card and said the girl made him pay more but he was not given a receipt and it did not have what I ordered in the drive thru. I had already paid once so I struggled to get out of my car and go into the store with bruises and drain tubes hanging. They said they didn't know he was asking for a drive thru order but the way the big girl with glasses was acting with me I could see how she ran over my son. I said fine it was a mistake but I don't want a second order I only want what I ordered and this other order refunded. After speaking to the manager "Tanya" they found the receipt they never gave my son, but would not refund. I asked for a store credit since it was their mistake but she said no it is not our policy to refund or give money back. I am not happy with this and I want my $20 back for the second order. Well unfortunately I have to give this location a one star. My husband is always a fan of Chinese and we own the sandwich shop across the street from them, so we pick up food after work. I don't know why we keep going back because each time it is a disappoinment. Last time we placed a online order and they hadn't even started it when we got there. We waited for a good half hour before they started our food and it was about another 15 before actually leaving with food. The employee felt bad so she offered two complimentary drinks. Today we went in with high hopes. We waited about 15 minutes in line. When we got to order they had maybe four full products and that was it. Everything was empty and they said at least 7 minutes for each item to make. We wanted the king pao chicken and beef and broccoli. They said there was about two more items ahead before that. My thing is if you know you're going to be busy why would you not prep for your dinner rush? It just always seems to be an issue. My family usually loves going to a Panda Express. When we heard there would be a Panda Express near our home we were extremely happy. We went to this location and we were all disappointed. As we were walking in people were leaving mumbling how they wouldn't wait 40 minutes for an item. We waited 10 min to order... and they were out of several items ... including white rice. We waited the 7 min for an item and then they give us portions that were drastically smaller than the locations. By the time we sat down half the food was cold due to waiting for the other half to be prepared. Very disappointing for the money we spent. read more

The food was good. However, not all the food was prepared, so you didn't have a full menu to choose from. I wanted Orang Chicken and Broccoli Beef, no Broccoli Beef was being prepared. The girl taking my order was new, the girl at the register had more time than her and was obvious about it. The cashier barked orders at her to take out the trash, fill napkins and utensils, etc. The new girl complied, thus leaving her post. The cashier then started to complain that she had to prep orders now. (What did she expect?) They were shorthanded: no one to do the following in a timely manner: wipe tables, empty overflowing trash cans, fill forks and napkins, clear food spills, etc. Not what you expect on a Tuesday at 130/2. Several patrons looked unhappy. With the above mentioned issues and a front door that does NOT want to open, I don't see this place lasting much longer. Too bad.
