    ChongQing Shredded Chicken Cold Noodles

Tried the fried chicken wings this time and although a bit pricey it was yummy! And the Chongqin cold noodle tasted like 酸辣粉 which is spicy and sour noodles, it wasn't what I was expecting but still very good. I think all dishes are good here honestly and you won't have to worry about getting something that's terrible here :)

Ramen was nice and spicy and tasted really good. Portion is also solid for the price.

This place is really yummy. I tried it for the first time on a Sunday around 5 pm so I was able to be seated right away. The food tasted so fresh, and I definitely underestimated their spice level. However, it still tasted great. I also want to recommend their spicy wontons, they're jam packed with pork and sooo savory.

Such a comforting meal on a chilly day! My husband and I came here on a weekend late afternoon during the U District fair for a bite to eat. Service was friendly and we were seated quickly. You order off the QR code on the table. We got the dumplings in chili oil and I got the braised beef noodle soup which tasted soooo good! The meat was so tender and the broth was warming and had great flavor. My husband also got a noodle dish but he said mine was better lol. Overall, would definitely come back for another bowl of noodles.

A total lifesaver after starving all day--who knew it would take the form as a hot bowl of beef noodle soup. So delicious, it's got the classic Sichuan numbing spice and the beef was soft and flavorful. Service was great and super fast and the place is small but cozy. Definitely come here with some friends on a cold day for a hearty bowl!

I walked in pretty early in the day, so service was on point. I was sat down and told how to order, they were playing very slow and tranquil music, I almost fell asleep. The food itself was a little disappointing, came out to around $17 with 15% tip, the broth was good but there wasn't really any vegetables which was disappointing.

Saw this place walking down the Ave - popped in for a quick bite. The restaurant was very clean and largely quiet. The staff were friendly and service was quick. I ordered spicy wontons, fried dumplings, and fried rice - everything was tasty. The spicy wontons were definitely my favorite. Everything is done online (scanning the code from the table), I didn't see any printed menus as an option.

food: 3/5 service: 2/5 ambiance: 2/5 maybe we went on an off day for the shop, but the last few times we tried to come here, we would get literally turned away and told to get out, even though this was way before closing and we'd be willing to wait. not the best way to gain customers--i can tolerate waiting and irate people, but to get turned away is absolutely insane. nonetheless, we came to visit anyway. this was only the main chef though, the servers are kind and i was only frustrated with the chef. ambiance wise it's pretty blank and clean, the water feels a bit odd due to the fact that they just have pitchers sitting out there all day and it's lukewarm, but not enough to make me mad. however, the food is probably the most unfortunate. they advertise a veggie noodle soup, and since my friend is vegetarian, i do consider that as a factor when i'm looking for something to eat and check menus before i visit. they don't disguise it here though, the vegetarian broth is straight up just their chili oil and water. that was insane to me--no veggie stock guys? then take it off the menu. i ordered their chili wontons, which were not bad, and same with their beef noodle soup. it was below par for what'd i'd expect, and the portions were not that crazy either. because there are more options on the ave, i would most definitely visit those rather than this place. don't get me wrong, the spice is great, but they're not vegetarian friendly, and the portion-to-price ratio isn't enough to get me to come back.

Small Chonqing Shredded Chicken Mixed Noodles ($14.99)

I stopped into Panda Noodle Bar on a Tuesday at around 1pm to get a quick takeout lunch to eat on the UW Quad when the cherry blossoms were in bloom! Upon entry, the restaurant is small, dark and narrow, but deeper length-wise than it looks, with plenty of seating downstairs and in a loft-like space upstairs. There weren't many people there when I went, but I'm sure it gets crowded on weekends! We ordered directly at the front counter, and service was quick - we simply marked what we wanted on the menu, and then were given buzzers for when our food was ready. Our servers didn't speak much English, but that wasn't really an issue at all, and they were kind and helpful in explaining the different dishes to us. I ended up ordering a Small Chonqing Shredded Chicken Mixed Noodles ($14.99) at a Medium Spicy level. I initially thought the price was quite steep for a noodle dish, but it's a lot of noodles. The dish came with a generous amount of wheat noodles with assorted vegetables (shredded cucumbers, carrots, and peas), peanuts, a small amount of chicken, and a very liberal amount of chili oil. I ended up dumping out a lot of the extra oil, and the noodles were still extremely flavorful - it was just the right amount of spice, with a rich garlicky flavor as well. The crunch of the cucumber and the peanuts also added a nice contrast. Overall, I enjoyed my meal from Panda Noodle Bar, although I wish that there was a bit more protein (there was barely any shredded chicken) and maybe less noodles? I think that it's a great spot for college students (if a bit pricey for what it is), service is fast and friendly, and has a great location - definitely a place I'd stop into to get your noodle fix!

Delicious food and great service! I've been wanting to check out this place for a while and finally got to stop in. It's a mom & pop restaurant but the quality is still top tier and food is all reasonably priced. Ordering is done online so it's convenient and easy because most dishes have pictures available. We ordered the garlic spareribs, spicy wontons and braised intestine noodle soup with braised pork added. Everything came out relatively quick and was so good! I usually can't handle the numbing of the mala that is found in many Szechuan cuisine, but this place has a good balance. The dumplings were also nice and chewy, and we got to see them make it while we were eating! Spare ribs were also delicious but I needed some white rice, since I can't eat too much salt. All in all, I highly recommend and can't wait to come back! It's right on the Ave so it's perfect when you're needing some comfort food before/after studying!

Braised pork and braised beef soup large

We ordered a large braised pork soup and large beef noodle soup. The pork was good, it has a chasu vibe more than a fatty pork vibe. The noodles in both bowls were super chewy/QQ. But the beef was not tender and for $20 for a bowl after tax, the amount of ingredients was underwhelming. I was full after but there were no veggies as pictured; mostly broth and noodles and "some" meat. TLDR: noodles have great texture, broth is good, but the meat is underwhelming and expected more veggies in the soup. price is a little high for what this is.

I came here for lunch and got the spare ribs, beef stew with noodle soup, and mixed sauce noodles. It wasn't busy at all, and we got our food pretty quickly which was nice. The spare ribs were really good! They were crispy but still tender and very warm. The onions were also tasty. I got the beef stew with noodle soup at a mild spice level. My spice tolerance is not the best, but wow the spice really hit. If you like traditional Sichuan spice, this will be great. I personally wasn't the biggest fan of the spice flavor, but I enjoyed the meat and noodles. If you are a big meat eater, I would recommend getting extra meat since it was pretty tender but there wasn't a ton. The mixed sauce noodles were really good, and it had the same noodles as the beef stew. It had a lot more meat, and I enjoyed the spice flavor more than the beef stew. Overall, my experience was good!

Greeted with enthusiasm! I came with a friend. The guy working insisted on putting our backpacks on chairs for us, which is a cute touch lol. He gave us a quick rundown, telling us to order via scanning on phones. For the food itself, the noodles were yummy! The braised pork is so tender and fatty..I can feel it in my mouth right now. The sauce and broth is so flavorful, I finished the whole bowl despite getting full 2/3rds of the way.

Service is quick and straightforward. We ordered the pineapple bun with butter, mixed steak plate with black pepper sauce, and spare rib and chinese sausage clay pot. My boyfriend really enjoyed his mixed steak plate - it came with a pork steak and beef steak, steamed rice, and steamed veggies. The meat was fine but the real winner was the savory sauce! The clay pots take 20-30 minutes to cook which they tell you ahead of time, so be aware my boyfriend was about done with his food when the clay pot came out. This was a delicious classic dish reminiscent of the clay pots back in Hong Kong! I poured in a ton of sauce and it really gets absorbed into the hot rice and meat. Since my last review the restaurant has closed and reopened, and expanded their menu, to now include more dumplings and varieties of noodles. They also now have a very handy duo of ordering kiosks, which you order at prior to sitting down. I found their kiosks easy to use, which isn't always a given. This being my first visit back in a while, I had to get the spicy cumin lamb biang biang noodles. However I had to try some dumplings, so we shared the lamb dumplings, while my dinner buddy had the spicy cumin lamb rice noodle soup (the same kind of noodles you'd get at a ten second yunnan noodle type of place). They also now have a complimentary side dish bar that has seaweed salad, peanuts, and kimci, as well as some condiment type things like scallions and minced garlic. I helped myself to some seaweed salad to nibble on while waiting for our food, and it was good although food comes out quickly enough that you don't necessarily have to rely on it unless you're really chomping at the bit. The spicy cumin lamb biang biang noodles are just as good as I remember. The biang biang noodles here are perfectly chewy, and the rest of the dish has a lovely flavor aside from just spice. They're generous with lamb and cabbage which add a lot of textural variety to the plate. The lamb dumplings were the sleeper hit of the meal, filled with juicy, tender hunks of lamb surrounded by toothsome clearly hand-rolled wrappers. Absolutely do not skip the lamb dumplings. My dinner buddy really enjoyed her rice noodle soup with spicy cumin lamb, which I think would be a great option on a cold day. Everything is pretty much self serve here, so don't expect full service -- although they did stop by to refill our water once. The food here is so good, though, and prices are so reasonable, that I truly do not care that the experience is pretty bare bones otherwise.
