Food was ok. Their soups always turn liquity after you eat about half of them and the tuna salad was a little sour for my taste. But the guy working at the counter to run out orders and hand them to the guests, was very rude and questioned my common sense when I was walking up to the counter to get my order. I hadn't been to this place in about 2 years and wasn't aware of all the rule changes. When my buzzer went off, I walked over to the counter with my 3 year old in front of me. Nobody was there to hand over orders and we were getting closer to the counter. Then from behind me, the guy comes over and loudly tries to get my daughter out of there. She didn't hear him and kept walking so we were both calling her over. I told him I didn't know we weren't supposed to walk up to the counter anymore and he told me, that common sense would have made me realize that it's dangerous for a child back there. Before the pandemic I have stood back there with my children plenty of times along with other parents. So no. Common sense told me, that if nobody is there to hand me my food when I get there and there is no sign telling me not to go there, I would have to walk up to the counter like I did many times before to get my food. Afterwards I did tell the guy that I thought a sign would make sense and that it's just bad customer service to tell people that they lack common sense. Instead of agreeing and apologizing, he told me he was "done" and walked off. Not worth my nerves to go back. Out of all the Panera locations this one has the worst consistency. Orders are always wrong, missing items or show they have been delivered when they haven't. I have a stack of coupons from them messing up delivery orders, but I can only use those in restaurant. They won't resend a missed or wrong item, and cannot add a discount to your account in the app, so you have to drive to the restaurant or wait for a coupon in the mail. I just paid $18 for the wrong coffee and a cold sandwich. Both went into the garbage and I deleted my app. If they could easily refund through the app, I would probably continue to be a customer but I'm tired of throwing away money when there are better companies out there who actually get it right. read more

I met a friend here for lunch. It was busy, but easy to find seats and the line moved pretty quickly. Of course I had an issue when I placed my order (it seems to be the theme lately). I put in my debit card, typed in my PIN and then took out the card when I heard the noise telling me to do it. But the screen said PLEASE WAIT and there was no receipt. Most times I don't ask for one, but with this weird message, my spidey senses were telling me I should get one. Well nobody knew how to get me a receipt. 2 co-workers were called over and then the manager was retrieved. I kept telling them that the screen still said to wait so I didn't think the transaction was finished, but that was ignored. Finally they got me a receipt and all day I checked my bank balance to make sure there weren't any unauthorized charges. So after that incident, I got my thai chicken salad. It was tasty! Amazing, At this Panera the workers are so friendly and they have great customer service. Me and my girlfriend come here from time to time because we love Panera. We had got home with our food after ordering and they forgot my girlfriends Mac and Cheese. Which is not an issue because everyone makes mistakes and they were busy. So I called up the store and I have no idea what they young ladies name was I talked to but she told me that they would make me a new one. She asked when we would arrive so it would be hot and ready. This place makes you feel like you are in a jail - compared to other locations. Their "rapid pickup" might as well be called "we will get to it when we want." Every visit at this location I can see my food sitting on the expo line waiting. And waiting. And waiting. Then when they decide to call my name or put it on the rapid pickup rack they always forget my beverage cup. I don't know if this location is losing a fortune in plastic cups, all other locations allow customers to grab their own cups. Here at this location they keep them under strict access. This prevents you from enjoying any sip while you wait and wait for the smallest order to be prepared. I am not talking about meals or a lot of items, usually just a bagel. If it were not for this new Sip Club promotion and this location being so close to work I would never come back to this location ever. The vibe here is also off. Again I run into the soup-confusion at another Illinois Panera! Why so confused, Panera People?! Here I go again...hauling my flu-ridden, sick self into a Panera to get a friggin Bread Bowl of soup to take home. Just want to be in and out and back to laying on the couch to rest & kick this darn flu out! So my two friends and I walk in, and immediately are stopped short at the winding line leading all the way back to the door we just walked through. Great. "Let's try our best not to pass out in the line waiting for our soup, Ashley, we can do it!" I think to myself as I wait behind some 10+ people before making my way up to the counter to attempt to order my combo soup. Here we go. I ask the kind cashier who boasts the colorful name-tag: "Roman" if I can have a bread bowl to-go of the Broccoli Cheddar & Potato Soup* mixed together. Que the awkward silence and crazy-eyed-look, followed by his words buffering... "uhhhh uuummmmmmm, I don't know how to do that... I don't know if we CAN do that", to which I reply with an aloof upbeatness, and explain how I do it all the time, and it's usually no big deal (clearly it IS a big deal lately...geesh, can't a girl just get her freakin' fun mix of soup?!). I smile & Roman kindly goes and checks with the soup masters to see if this "crazy request" is doable. It is. Of course. I KNOW it is, just.. give me mah soup, please. So he gets top level clearance from the keepers of the soup and makes my wishes come true. I can have my mix of soups. Huzzah! So I finish paying, and get my buzzer, and wait in line with everyone else. Since I my order is incredibly simple, mine buzzes before anyone else in line, granting me a scowl from all those who have been patiently waiting. Sorry..? So we get our food and head back home. I just stopped in for a post-workout/pre-platelet donation meal. I wanted something fresh but on the lighter side, so opted for the Garden Chicken Wonton Bowl (290 calories and 23g/protein). It's a bit soupy and includes 5 wontons, fresh broccoli, spinach, mushrooms, asian slaw, sesame seeds, and cilantro. The broth was somewhat rich and the veggies were barely cooked, so it packed a lot of satisfying crunch! The wontons had a LOT of ginger taste... maybe too much (and I love ginger)! I'm a fan of Panera, mostly for their Greek salad with chicken. There is something about their dressing that I love! I was here for a very late dinner the other night, I got there at 9pm, an hour before closing. There were quite a few people there, my order was taken right away, it came out very fast. I thought it was very nice of the employee who came to our table and delivered our meals. Most of the time they just buzz our pager but this employee went the extra mile and brought us our meals. Very nice touch. My only complaint was that the booth we sat at was not comfortable. My seat was repaired with what looked like duct tape and it was very lumpy. Ive gone to this location a couple of times and never heard of any real issues until my partner started talking about their mother being ignored and given attitude by a worker. She said she didn't get what she wanted and after waiting so much time, a worker told her to get out of the way and completed disregarded her complaint. I considered working at this location to try and help the team be more positive for customers but a worker the same day I went in for my interview told me that the assistant general manager never showed up and the general manager was not mentally fit to uphold her position. Not to mention, when I was in the middle of my interview there was an issue on the line and the assistant general manager proceeded to leave, come back 15 minutes later, and publicly make me aware they "terminated" a worker which I found inappropriate. I phoned in an order of bagels around 11:30am to have it ready for 6pm. The bagels were for a pot luck at work for the next day. I start work a 5am so I needed get them the night before as Panera is not open that early. I arrived at 5:50pm and my order was not ready, ok, fair enough I was early. How hard is to pack bagels and have them ready especially since I called at 11:30am. As I was waiting for my order the manager told me that I was early so that is why my order was not ready. As I was waiting, for about 15 mins, I saw the manager packing my bagels. How did he know at 6pm the bagels I ordered at 11:30am we're still going to be available? It seems that my order slipped through the cracks. I got home and packed the bagels in ziplock bags and the bagels were hard as a rock. Not only were they hard as a rock he gave me 11 bagels when I ordered the bakers dozen which includes 13 bagels. This was annoying because I needed to get to sleep for work as I wake up at 2:30am. I called and spoke to the kid who I think was suppose to be the manager and he said, "oh did I forget one?" I stated "no, you forgot 2." He asked when I would like to come back and I said I'd be there that night. Food is usually OK, when they have the items in the menu which is frequently not the case. Register staff is slow as molasses and can't respond to anything that isn't on their script. Kiosks used to be cash and efficient but since they upgraded 4-5 months ago they basically don't work anymore. Line is ALWAYS ten minutes deep and it takes 15-20 to get your food. Regularly get orders screwed up at this location. It's a shame that it's so mismanaged as this used to be my favorite Panera--now the food and service is a crapshoot. Do-better Panera. Also the big community tables--if corporate is listening-- lose them, at this location there are times when there aren't enough seating. read more

Just had a moment with a pick up order. They put cheese on one of my sandwiches and the side of apple slaw that came with my turkey sandwich was incredibly small. For the record I do like Panera for many things but today was another disappointment. So I eat at different Panera locations and run into good and bad experiences. My boss and I get a soup and half a chicken salad sandwich. The soups are somewhere between 1/2 & 2/3 full and the sandwich barely has any meat filling. For $9 fill the soup or at least make them the same quantity and put actual meat on your sandwich! I should have taken photos but didn't realize how sad the sandwich was till after I started eating it, wondering why I got a mouthful of bread and vegetables... Tonight is the third time in 6 months that I have been disappointed. It took almost 30 minutes from the time I stepped inside until I received my food. Ordered through the online app. Ordered the half Frontega Chicken/Large order mac n cheese to share with my kids. I had ordered the half tuna sandwich with a side of broccoli cheddar soup for my wife. Later that evening I became violently ill, experiencing vomiting and diarrhea. My wife and son, who shared the mac n cheese also became very ill and experienced the same symptoms. Needless to say I will never return to Panera. This is the local Panera location by my house and I have never had a bad experience- I either pick up food (that I pre order online- which is a very quick process when I walk in to pick up) OR I eat in the restaurant if I have other work to do or if I am reading something. For me it is vert standard- there are about three or four things that I always get when I am at Panera and it rarely changes. I always get the cheddar broccoli soup with a side of bread OR The tomato basil panini- and sometimes I get the you pick 2 and order both those things. My favorite desert/ bakery item on the menu is the bear claw- love the almond paste in the middle of the pastry. I do sometimes venture out of my comfort bubble when I am at Panera when there is a limited time item on the menu that looks intregring OR if there is a seasonal item on the menu. Overall I love this place- and it was always good to bring your laptop here and get some work done- only complaint i would have about that is the limited amount of outlets- especially in the area by the fire place- there is just one outlet and 2 people in the whole area can plug in there. I advise you to bring a charged computer if you plan on working on anything there. read more

This particular Panera is a regular stop for me since it's open early at 5:30 AM. One of the only spots that's open that early other than Mickey D's and Starbucks. A bit of an underwhelming experience here. It started at the cashier, who was a young gun who didn't have much experience. Good for him for making his way in the world, despite mixing up my "chilled shrimp and soba noodle salad" with a "grilled chicken caesar salad." But really bad management choice leaving a new employee alone at the register with a line forming. Speaking of bad management, the manager was talking about her patrons (granted they were police officers) on the phone at a very audible level. And the drink lids were mostly out... As for my food, equally disappointing. The shrimp and soba noodle salad was mostly tasteless soba noodles, with too little everything else. We come to Panera for Bagel Tuesday's - 13 bagels for $6.99 and 2 tubs of cream cheese for a few more $. This location bakes the bagels to a consistent size and quality week after week. The location on Lake St in Addison twice gave me thin bagels. Talk about a case of what the heck! Our favorites include plain, cinnamon/raisin, chocolate chip, blueberry, & Asiago cheese. The vegetable cream cheese, plain, blueberry, & walnut are whipped and reduced fat. I always come before 8am to get them while they're hot. I bring them home and stuff them in the plastic bags Panera provides. They stay fresh for a week in the refrigerator. The staff is really great here, no complaints. The size of the seating areas is plenty and busy during lunch time. read more

Read my previous reviews for just how much you get for $5.00, and one of the managers herself stating, "yes, it is clearly overpriced." - Restaurant had NO sourdough round rolls yesterday. People were angered. The bread (baguettes) are still good, but no sourdough rolls. - Restaurant was STILL dirty - dirty floor (nakins, apple slices, bread pieces, crumbs, etc) ALL OVER. Tables and chairs - unwiped and dirty. This has been the case though for the past 6 years. To be fair, part of this blame goes to the patrons that are slobs who leave their tables/chairs in this fashion, and refuse to even throw out their own garbage or empty their trays. However, the restaurant is still in charge of how it presents itself. ** (I STILL do not know how some patrons go out of their way to state "how clean this place is" in their reviews - it almost seems as if they are trying to purposely write 're-visionist history' on this place, despite photos and facts to the contrary.
