I feel kind of guilty, I've been coming here like 2-3 times a month for like 5 YEARS! and I've neglected to ever write a review. Like every other Panera this place has that quiet comfortable feeling like your local coffee shop and you can hang around as long as you want. The service is mixed but that doesn't matter because you interact with them for a total of 40 seconds to take your order and pick up your food. I will note that this specific location has a pair of twin red heads who are exceptionally friendly and energetic and every time I see them, I know I'm gonna see a smile and an upbeat attitude. I do appreciate that kind of effort. The food is as good as a chain restaurant can get: Very consistent. It tastes the same every time and its held to a pretty high standard. I've never had a bad soup salad or sandwich there. The only downside to this place might be the way they up charge you for something you'd normally expect. That 6.95 for a soup and half sandwich is ONLY for like 4 sandwiches on the menu, all the good panini's and sandwiches and salads are "premium" or "signature" or even worse "premium signature" which is another up charge from that. So for one of their more decent half and half meals its ends up being like 10 bucks. Besides the pricing, I like everything else about this place and normally head there when I'm out of ideas for food. If you want to stop for a quick bite that doesn't involve a fried patty of some sort, give this place a shot and take your time too while you're at it. No ones gonna push you out the door. read more

This place is busy it seems like, all of the time for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! The food is what you could expect from any panera, served hot or cold (depending what you order!!) and delicious. I can't even start to begin counting the number of hours I've spent at this Panera Bread - all I know is that it's many. This is your typical Panera with all the usual eats you'd find at any Panera. What drives me to give this particular one four stars is that I have, on several occasions, planted myself here for hours on end during a work from home day (instead of my home office) without anyone telling me to purchase additional items or leave. A good thing when you are trying to deal with work matters remotely. They have many outlets available around the whole store so if you're debating whether not to bring your laptop in fear you won't find a place to charge your computer fear not. I am so frustrated with this Panera location. Unfortunately they are my closest location. They consistently are out of product (i.e. Roman lettuce--really?) or get the order wrong. We ALWAYS have to check our order. Today my husband picked up our order and thought he had everything. He did except instead of the Chicken & Wild Rice soup that I ordered, they gave me Chicken Noodle soup! Now you might think they were out of the Chicken & Wild Rice, but nope. If you go on the app, it's showing in stock and you can order it. Just ANOTHER screw up at this location. Though they do love to substitute when they're out of product. Typically at a lower price than what you were already charged for your original item. If you have another location as an option, you should go there. This Panera has plenty of seating, quiet corners and a fire place. The servers are very helpful. The music is not too loud during lunch time. It doesn't get 5 stars because I had trouble finding a plug, the tables are rather close and the half sandwiches are kind of wimpy (insufficiently filled). read more

Have to say we are huge fans. Every time we come here we always get excellent service and great food. The lines are always super long but the staff seems to navigate through them without a problem and the wait time is very minimal. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere, And is always clean. They are getting 2 stars because of COVID and I'm trying to be understanding, otherwise this would be a one star review. I called three or four times to place a pick up order and questions about the menu. Half the items on their menu online aren't available to order when you go to place an online order. So frustrating. All the paninis, the ham and Swiss sandwich, etc. Every time I called-no answer. And it automatically just hung up on me. So I drive with my baby to the location expecting them to be busy or something. Nope, not really at all. Maybe they were busy with online orders..don't know. But I saw at least 4 or 5 employees causally just wiping off things, standing around etc. The cashier was so rude. I told her I tried calling several times and no one answered and she just stared at me. No response. I then asked about several menu items I saw online and told her I wasn't able to find them when I went to place my order online and she said it's because they don't offer them anymore. I also had a pick two coupon from a year ago when Panera totally screwed up my order and I presented it to her after I told her my order and she said you wouldnt have been able to use this coupon over the phone anyways. And I said yeah but I could've asked my questions about the menu items and I would've been able to place my order and pick it up and give you the coupon when I picked up but since no one answered I am waiting in the lobby with my crying baby while I wait for my food. I originally wasn't even going to use the coupon because I wanted a ham and Swiss sandwich which wasn't part of the pick 2. But Panera likes to advertise a huge selection of food they don't even serve. Seems like over the years their customer service and declined tremendously, their prices increased substantially, and their food quality and selection is a joke at this point. My French onion soup was good-I'll give credit where it's due. The turkey avocado blt was just average. Something about their turkey and chicken and steak just tastes cheap. Regardless, what you believe is key to success, we can come to the conclusion that in order to have a successful business you must have both a good product and good customer service. Panera Bread has good quality food at an affordable price. They also have consistency. However, this panera bread needs to improve their customer service skills. On 29 October, 2015 I decided to use the panera app in order to start implementing technology and make myself more familiar with the app itself (Panera loves when you use the app). I sat outside the panera location ordering m food with the app. Unfortunately, the app said that they were going to process the app order due to the fact that they can't take orders within ten minutes that they close using the app. So, I walked inside and ordered. The cashier (over weight Asian lady) who took my order must take customer service 101. She had the worst customer service I have experienced in my life. Everything I asked her to do, she complained about. I asked for Whole grain bread and went to the back and began to complain. Remind you, it takes about 2 mins to make a sandwich. You'll still leave when the establishment closes. If you are charging $9 for 2 mins of work, I think you are making a pretty good profit. With that profit panera please provide your staff with better customer service skills. Ps The High School kids that work there have better customer skills than the Asian lady who made my sandwich. Worst Panera Bread ever! I waited at least 40 minutes for my to go order - and I only ordered for 4. While waiting for my order, the preparer asked me 3 times what my order was. Customers who had pickup orders came back because their orders were wrong or missing items. I realize it was during lunch time and busier, but I've been to many other Paneras even out of state during lunch, and never had such a bad experience. So many customers were upset and frustrated with the service! I also called 4 times on the way to pre-order so my food would be ready when I arrived, but no answer. Panera's mobile or online ordering is a nice option but not always convenient when you're driving and prefer to call in. read more

I sometimes come here with my laptop to do work, and my only complaint is there aren't very many outlets. There's one to the right of the entrance and at least one to the left, by the fireplace, and they probably won't be available if you come during the 11-2 p.m. lunch rush. More outlets! We need more outlets! Or was that cowbell? Who can remember these things? So I frequent local Paneras. And I mean FREQUENT. So, when I went to my nearest one, I expected a pretty fair balanced environment, of a few outlets on both ends of the space. There were not. One end of the place has a few, but the other side is completely without anywhere to plug in. And we searched. Boy, did we search. As one of the hipster elite that goes to public places with my laptop to be seen working on things (not really), I resent there not being enough outlets. The food was mediocre, nothing too special. It seemed somewhat that there was a lack of enthusiasm in the joint. Even the cashier was spacing out when I walked up to her. The drink situation angered me a little. When I first walked in, I went and got a fruit punch. I noticed that it was running out of syrup, so I settled for half a cup, figuring there would be fresh fruit punch in a few minutes, so by the time I was done with half a cup, I'd have more to get. Twenty minutes later, as I finished my fruit punch, my friend walks over with a half cup of what seems to really want to be fruit punch, and says the following to me: "The girl was over there and she saw it go crazy and not give me fruit punch, and she just looked at me like a deer in the headlights." Really? Even I know how to change the syrup container in that machine, I worked at the NIU food courts for six months. Absolutely ridiculous, that's what I say. I'm probably going to avoid this Panera, unless I absolutely need to meet with someone and that's the best option. read more

I enjoy this Panera. It's in a nice location and is always clean. It gets packed at lunch time but they handle the lines very well. I love that they have a lot of kid friendly meals. They do a story time first Tuesday of each month in association with Bloomingdale library. They also offer free milk and cookies for that event which is very cute. read more

This review is based on 2 visits for take out in the last 10 days. Both times the order was incorrect and it was the same menu item.Chicken Cobb Salad how in the hell can you screw this up! The first time I tell them no avocado and of course avocado was loaded up on the top. The second time I get home no friggen chicken no tomatos just croutons and mixed lettuce. Wasn't going back as it was at least 15-20 minute drive. I guess I learned my lesson to check or double check what I or we order. Upon entering there were a few people in front of me. A woman loudly addressed the people in line that if they were paying with a credit card they could use the kiosk to order. I tried. Its confusing. So I went back in line. Much prefer talking face to face with someone. So much easier. Bill greeted me. What a guy! Smiles, happy, good salesman, just a great personality! Just having a short 10 second conversation with Bill set a very comfortable tone while at Panera. I finished ordering, and went to an open table. John, Big John, wiped off the table for me, was very polite, and cleaned up after me. Those two employees deserve recognition. I did have a short talk with the manager, who was also very polite, and understanding. Over all even after dealing with a pain-in-the-ass kiosk... my visit to Panera was well worth it! I used to LOVE it here...I've been eating here since the early '00s. Had a bad experience today though. Brought me a dirty spoon so I asked for another one. The second one they brought me had something big and crusty on it yet again. I didn't see them even glance at the others to make sure everything was ok. One would think they would be concerned for other customers. Who knows how many others people are eating from dirty utensils. Also they forgot part of my order. I truly dislike this place. If it wasn't for gift cards and free coupons I would never come. This place is the slowest place EVER!!!! You better have 2hrs for lunch.
