I give four stars simply because I have loved Panera Bread for soooo many years. I've visited many locations over the metro area and see about the same level of customer service. It is what it is on that front, but because I am rather a soup and or salad with half a sandwich kinda girl for lunch (when I do eat out) and certainly have a huge sweet tooth, this place suits me just fine!! I love their egg soufflés, panini sandwiches, cinnamon crunch bagels, salads, most pastries, green tea, chai tea latte (though I wish they had the soy option), smoothies and a few other items. The location to me is perfect. The Avenue is highly appealing to a variety of shoppers, so they could not have picked a better location, especially since the one further down Roswell Rd (going towards 120 loop) near E Lakes shopping center, closed down (why?!!!!!). So for me fresh healthy, well portioned food is key and if I'm gonna go chain, fast food, this is my kinda place for anytime of day!! read more

1. Please understand that this is Panera. It's not a little indie bakery and it's not filled [however much you want to hope it is] with people who lovingly craft your loaf/ bagel/ meal. It's assembly-line, pre-packaged-but-baked-in-the-store goodness. Expect as much. This Panera's food is like any other Panera's. What MIGHT set it apart is service, but unfortunately... it doesn't. Service isn't wretched but it's the same at any chain/ franchise where the service is mostly students, a good handful of which have experience in retail/ food service. 2. I'll agree with another review that this location was MUCH better when The Avenue first opened, but in East Cobb where convenient and hygienic eateries are relatively few and far between [weird?-- this is East Cobb... you'd think a community with that much wealth floating around would raise customers/ community members with more social responsibility... [and there I am on my soapbox]], it's on the lower end but not too bad [read: Dairy Queen in one shopping center over before it was converted to another restaurant]. Tables DO rarely get wiped down BUT, at the same time, this is kind of a local hotspot due to its mass appeal and convenient location. The tables likely don't get wiped down simply because staff members are too busy. Is that a good excuse? Definitely not. But understandable? Maybe, depending on how picky or demanding you are. The reason I like Panera is for the flavor of the food; it's pretty good if you're into the soup/salad/sandwich scene. True, it's not anything special, but I'd say it's on the better end of most similarly styled eateries. If you're looking for a quick bite to eat [granted, with a bit of a line wait during the rush and slim pickings for seating], it's good. Favorites are the greek salad, mac and cheese [don't ask or tell me how many calories it is], and cinnamon+sugar bagel. If you're looking for something fancy, high-grade, or super-fast, this might not be your best bet. Still... kinda better than the alternative, which [if my memory is correct] would be Johnny Rockets. read more

The young lady Manager had me wait another 10 minutes to refund my money and still NO FOOD. Employees laughing and carrying on in the back while several of us (20 or so) waited on their food. The customer service here needs some serious work. Ordered 2 loaves of bread yesterday morning to pick up this morning. Arrived here when I said I would, they didn't have one of them. They "said" truck order was already sent by time I placed mine. I did it before noon!! Seriously though they don't have ingredients to make a loaf of bread. Maybe they should quit selling it then. If you can't have more than 1-2 loaves of bread & only limited kinds then maybe you should stop selling. The food is overpriced for what you get. The pastries are okay but the food should be better for the price. It doesn't taste that good and there isn't an abundance of menu items and the drinks are absurdly priced. A 16oz drink shouldn't be three dollars when I can drive down the road to McDonald's and get a large drink for 1$. read more

Pretty terrible service. Not only can they not handle a small morning rush (as a barista I know I­t­ can be challenging, but everyone deserves customer satisfaction), but they also carelessly put yogurt in a dairy-free menu item-- no concern for allergens whatsoever. I just had a tasty lunch at this Panera; a Frontega chicken panini, summer corn chowder, and a strawberry rhubarb cake. The problem was that, despite a very quiet restaurant, there was only one person taking orders, and we waited 12 minutes in line just to order. I kept thinking someone else would start taking orders; I saw at least four other employees walk by, some of them twice, so it's not like they were short-staffed... just indifferent to the long wait line. This particular Panera is run terribly. Managers are on the floor and still service is slow, food is not prepped well and it is not clean. Several times I have been to this location in hopes that I was there in a bad day but every single time my order was wrong. I'm honestly surprised HOW DIRTY this place is. ** Let me start by saying I love Panera. I work remotely and am a grad student, so sometimes I need a place to sit, eat and study or just a change of scenery. And I love the food. I recently moved to Roswell from Raleigh, NC. The Panera closest to my old house was AMAZING. The staff was great! Quick, friendly.... Maybe the location in Raleigh/Cary @ Crossroads in NC was spectacular, but the only reason I would eat here again is to get food to go. But this location is by FAR the worst location I have ever been to. It is filthy. I mean every table and booth has a TON of trash and food underneath. I'm sitting here at 830pm and it is FILTHY. On top of that, the manager is sitting a few tables over eating Krystal's. Buddy, I get that you might be craving that, but what do you think it says to customers to see you eating another chain's food? Means you couldn't care less what we think. And that you don't want to eat the food you're serving. The customer service isn't horrible, at least not as bad as the cleanliness of the floor, but it certainly doesn't make up for it. **I'm now watching a girl mope around doing what appears to be spot cleaning the floors but it is all for show. Every time I go in to order the place is clean and friendly and fast. The coffee is fresh. I really enjoy the variety of foods to choose from and healthy options. The meals for kids are awesome!! I am in medical sales and use Paneras across the southeast for catering almost every single week. I will NO longer use them due to the unprofessional catering manager in the northern Atlanta area, Wes Hendrix. Not only did I NOT receive a callback with assistance for a delivery order website mistake but he waited until the DAY OF my meeting to email me that he was too busy! It was IMPOSSIBLE to book anyone else this late and IF he would've called me back the day I called him I would've been able to find another company. Instead I had to PAY to get on an earlier standby flight so I could pick it up - which was out of my way - and deliver it MYSELF! Solid choice for soup salad and sandwiches. I have never had a bad meal here. The food is consistent and this location ALWAYS seems to be BUSY ALL the time. Like all the time. Went to the Panera Bread at the Avenue of East Cobb today, because I was given a gift card. The cashier was very nice, but the place was very untidy. Several tables still had dirty dishes and the stations for dirty dishes were full. The carpet was in dire need of vacuuming and the place is in desperate need of renovation. Several of the seating areas were worn, with cracks in the leather/vinyl. This location was very well maintained for years, but it has gone downhill. I will not go to this location again. read more

Let me say first we love Panera, it's easy, it's convenient, usually good food and we can walk to East Cobb location which is a plus. But this particular location just can not seem to get it right! I thought for a while they were doing well and now they are on downward spiral again. Several times they were out of something at breakfast and dinner time. Today it was brioche that they have on menu. Once it was eggs for breakfast on Sunday! The teenage girl that took our order could not type the order with her nails way too long for restaurant work. She asked us to repeat order twice and gave my husband funny look when he ordered milk with his meal. Who is she to judge?? And then we got eggs cooked not the way we asked even though she made us repeat it twice! They can not get the right stuff, managers change often, they are short of cooks and seem to have all kind of personnel problems. I wish this would just end read more

Health score is an 82... not good. This used to be a favorite stop for us, and it is always busy, but it has been going downhill. They are running out of menu items and running out of things like coffee collars and drink lids. The dining area is starting to look run down, and they seem to have had a lot of staff turnover lately. My cashier picked dirt from under her fingernail while I was ordering, then used those dirty hands to hand us our drink cups. Bathroom floors were sticky. read more

This place is as good as any other panera bread. It gets quite a bit of traffic so its usually busy. If going here I wouldn't plan on getting a table fast if you go during normal eating hours. expect a wait. It gets regulars who come there and of course people who are shopping. Coffee, that's what I usually go to Panera for. The food is okay but the coffee is really the thing. This morning myself and two other customers tried to explain to the folks at the counter that the cream was bad as it was curdling in the cup. They took it to the back and then a young lady with earbuds in her ears, brings out the picture of "fresh cream " and slams it on the counter so hard cream pops out of the top and onto the counter. Her reaction was to simply walk away. I wiped the counter, made another cup of coffee with the new cream , it also was bad. Bringing this to their attention to second time was clearly not well received. The third attempt at changing out the cream was not much better. The third time myself and two other folks complained about the cream they simply tried to convince us that that's what happens when you put cream in coffee . "The date says it's good ". As they refused to do anything about it and I could not waste another 20 minutes I simply left without the coffee and went somewhere else. I post this and hopes that the business owner actually reads the reviews and keeps up with them. The pervasive attitude of indifference at this Panera was extremely disappointing. read more

Tried to call and order food, line was busy each time I called , tried to do it via delivery as well and apparently they "don't delivery" when I have physically taken a delivery out of there hand before from this location. Usually pretty solid, Panera was a train wreck tonight. First off they told us after we ordered and waited 12 minutes that they didn't have any more bread bowls (yup a bakery with out bread) and to substitute for the kids they gave them two small pieces of bread and were not very apologetic. Then one of our soups and mac n cheese was cold - again not very apologetic (and this was coming from the manger). It's a surprise that the Health rating here is a "B" because it was very dirty: Floors, tables and drink areas were not acceptable. The food is good, though the soup served lukewarm. One of the salads had a very hard piece of apple stem that almost broke a tooth. Stopped by for dinner. My wife ordered cup chicken with rice 1/2 turkey. I ordered cup broccoli soup 1/2 Italian. When they called my name. I went to the counter. They said they where out of chicken with rice. And they made me an Thai salad. They end up making me the right sandwich. My wife picked a different soup. And they gave us the salad also. Service is good, however, I ordered the Baja mac n cheese, and when the order was ready, the server behind the counter said they ran out of pico de gallo, which is the main part of this dish. She was very kind though, and chopped up tomatoe, red onion and a little cilantro to mimic the pico. Would have been just fine, but when I tasted the Mac n cheese, it was very salty. I did not stay in this restaurant very long because I had to get home through some pretty bad traffic. My experience however was quite good. The store was clean and the workers were friendly. The cashier help me with a light menu selection and the food preparers Efficient. My food was good, well-prepared, and just what I ordered. I think the Manager at this place is sleeping at the wheel. I've gone there late afternoon/early evening several times this past month and yes, the service is ok and fast I guess, but the place is not kept clean, not filthy, but just gives me the sceeves, tables are rarely wiped down, dishes need to be cleared from tables, floor needs sweeping, and the used dish deposit area hasn't been tended to. A part time porter would do the trick, someone that constantly wipes down tables, clears dirty dishes, sweeps, neatens the condiment/drink station, etc - that should be mostly - or all they do. This is not rocket science and don't tell me it can't fit into the payroll budget. In a food establishment - cleanliness should never be neglected, it is probably one of the most important responsibilities in a food establishment. This is the case in lots of Panera's, not just this one. It is really hard to find an impeccably kept Panera. Can anyone tell me where to find one, I do like their food. read more

My husband picks up salads for us weekly at Panera. Typically, they are quite good, but yesterday my salad (half size chicken Caesar) was terrible. The first thing I noticed was that there was much less salad than usual and the lettuce was wilted and soggy from dressing already added. It was very strange, almost as if it was left over from someone else's salad. I ended up throwing it away. My husband had a similar situation with his full size salad though he ate some of it and was ill the rest of the evening. We are looking for a new salad place. read more

I do not get the attraction to this place. I had a very dry turkey BLT sandwich and don't remember one time tasting any avocodo or bacon. I had to retrieve and put my own mayo on it out of a little packet,no table service, place was a mess with dirty tables everywhere. For $9 I'm pretty sure I could have gotten a real meal delivered to my table instead of having to get up and run around this chaotic restaurant. The poor customer service that I received from Megan as well as the guy who prepared our food was unacceptable and enough for me not to return. Megan had a poor attitude from the moment I stepped up to the counter and then the guy who gave me our food complimented the disgusting attitude that Megan met me with. I keep going to Panera Bread for some reason and don't know why. I'm a "clean" eater, so my choices for eating our are extremely limited. I've been about 6-7 times in 4 different states. I normally get the Pick 2 with some variation (no bacon or no mayo or sauce on the side). I can say that EVERY TIME IN EVERY LOCATION my order is wrong. This time, I had bacon on my son's sandwich and no chicken on my chicken ceaser salad. They other thing is the food is not filing for me. read more
