I would not give this Panera in Mesquite even a star for the horrible way I HAVE BEEN TREATED BY THE MANAGERS . Some of the servers have been just as bad. The food is not processed well and when I get home to try to eat what I have been given I can't eat it. Soups watery and almost cold. Food prep is very poor. Drinks are even a problem for this store to serve. Watered downed and not given the drink ordered. I was even told tonight by the mgr that the hundreds of dollars I spend there is not needed. I have been going to this Panera for years and have put-up with all kind of bad service/treatment, bad food and lied to about so many things. I ordered a tomato basil blt sandwich , frozen strawberry lemonade drink and three oatmeal raisin with berries cookies To my surprise when my order was delivered the bag was heavier than I expected. Once I opened the bag instead of 3 oatmeal raisin with berries cookies, I received 3 cups of oatmeal strawberry and pecans. The oatmeal is good but it doesn't compete with the oatmeal raisin with berries cookies just keeping it real. I called the store spoke to a nice guy named Robert , didn't ask for his job title but expect his a member of management. He asked for my name so he could see my order . He apologized for the mishap . He explained they didn't have a driver available to bring the cookies to me. I placed my order on Panera's app. I advised that I didn't want someone to be dispatched for that small order. Robert asked if I preferred to have a coupon mailed for a free meal or refund . I opted for a refund which he estimated may take 24 hours . I frequently visit this location since it's not far from my home but the food is inconsistent. Unfortunately, I have had issues before with an order being incorrect. Last time they provided me with the wrong salad and this time I ordered a bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup and there were 2 carrots, 5 noodles, and 3 pieces of chicken. The rest was all broth for a bowl that costs $7.99 and the bowl was not full to the brim like other locations provide. PLEASE check your order before you drive away. After years of buying french bread at this location, watching the size of the baguette go down and the price go up, today they sold me a baguette that was cold inside when I cut onto it at home. I don't pay alot and drive to get frozen bread. Very disappointing. Called to tell manager what they sold me. She offered a voucher or new loaf if I bring it back. Not driving all the way back. Disclaimer this is a review of the manager on site, wanted to brag a bit. Thank you Panera for skillfully picking management-Mary is an excellent manager. Period. I had a slight issue with misinformation(someone onsite telling me I could pick up remaining products that night for a Christian event the following day, not out of malicious intent.. simply just being uninformed about protocol). Mary made sure I was taken care of and even attempted to escalate my concern to the GM. She aims to please and followed the best guideline of all when dealing with a customer in the service industry- aim to hear if anything, whether you can or cannot please. Nonetheless , that changed a negative experience for me into a very positive one. Shows how management can really change the course of someone's review - most certainly did for me! Service was good. There was a bit of a wait, but I didn't feel like ordering through the kiosk, which they do have plenty of. What's extremely disappointing is their flat soufflé. I was wondering why there were so many left at 11am when I arrived - it's because this location doesn't make them right. In other locations, they'd be out of soufflés by around 9:30am. We came for take out, but stayed because the staff impressed us. Everything was super clean, everyone wore masks, hand sanitizer was supplied, and the place was empty. We chose a little corner to eat at and it was a nice change of pace of just getting take out. When you walk in there is an option to place your order and pay at a kiosk or at the counter. I attempted to place an order at the kiosk but there were no timer thingys (no clue what theyre called) left. I placed my order at the counter. The woman working was very friendly. Unfortunately they dont have gluten free bread so I did the pick two. I ordered the french onion soup with no bread and the caesar salad with no croutons. They must have been short handed this day because it took 15 minutes for me to get my soup and salad. Unfortunately my salad came with croutons on it so I wasnt able to eat it. I have eaten at Panera several times, at several locations. I enjoy the food, although the menu can be confusing. I love the bread and pastries. I was very disappointed when I brought my kids for dinner. The kids meals were very small and definitely overpriced. A very small helping of mac & cheese, and a gogurt (yogurt in a tube), and no drink = $4.99. My kids ate it up and told me they were still hungry. There were also no tables large enough for our normal-sized family of 5. I do like the rewards program and the free Wi-Fi, but I won't return with my kids.
