A few months ago, a typhoon rolled into Metro Manila and just wreaked havoc with the power lines, resulting in a metro-wide blackout. I can't remember which typhoon this was BECAUSE WE HAVE TYPHOONS ALL YEAR ROUND THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
Anyway, the power was out, and 'round this time the typhoon's alredy skipped town so it was back to being hot and humid. The lobster (a.k.a. boyfriend) and I needed a place to cool off and stop sweating, so we looked for the nearest mall with generators strong enough to keep the AC at full blast, and we ended up at SM Megamall. One of the few stores that were open was Papa John's. Now, my lobster and I aim to become pizza experts someday, and we've vowed never to say no to pizza, so we strolled right in and ordered.
We were starving, so we ordered herbed parmesan breadsticks and three-cheese pasta to start. As amazing as those were, they paled in comparison to the main dish: the Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza. This dish tugged at our heartstrings and refused to let go.
Since that fateful first time, we've gone back to Papa John's several times, and we've never deviated from Chicken Bacon Ranch. it was and always will be amazing. read more
