My husband and I just randomly decided to order a pizza. We normally get Hungry Howie's which we really like but they were closed so we went with Papa John's. It's only February 11 but I'm confident this is one of the best decisions I've made all year. The pizza arrived quickly and was so delicious and perfectly balanced from the crust to the sauce to the cheese having just a touch of crisp on the top. This pizza was made with love, I'm serious. We devoured it and when the time came, we unboxed the cinnamon bun and chocolate chip cookie dessert. If I didn't have Wilford Brimley's voice in my head saying, "diabetes " I'd have cleaned the whole scene. After the order was delivered, I realized one of the pizzas was incorrect (my mistake). I called the store (1813 Alhambra St Navarre, FL 32566) to explain what happened and to reorder. After being placed on hold the store manager came on the line and I explained the problem again. He asked for my phone number and did I want a price adjustment. I gave my phone number and said I just wanted to reorder. He curtly said there was no order under that phone number, put me on hold, then hung up on me. Context - My wife accidentally ordered the wrong Hawaiin pizza. Most Hawaiin pizzas have regular sauce, cheese, and some pineapple. Apparently she saw "Hawaiin" on a custom pizza and it included BBQ sauce. Honest mistake. Here's the problem - over the years, we've literally spend thousands of dollars on pizza from PJs. I called to ask them if they could make it right, while acknowledging our mistake. Considering how much money we've spent at their business - again - in the thousands - you'd think they could make it right. No such luck. The manager stated "It was a customer mistake, not ours." Today is the first time we have had an issue with the App for some reason defaulted to carry-out, but rather than the store calling us to ask if we are picking up the pizza. Over two hours went by and when I called the store and asked when my pizza would be delivered. The manager has an attitude and says you ordered carry-out. Said he would call me back and never did. I ordered online and never got an email confirmation, so I called and was told that their system was down and to call back in 10 minutes. I looked up my account to see if I was charged and indeed, I was. I called back 10 minutes later and was placed on hold for 15 more minutes until I decided to just drive down there. When I arrived, I walked up to a door that was locked and I thought perhaps they shut it down because of their system, so I knocked only to see the employees smirking at each other and ignoring me- only to finally turn and point to the other door (which was unlocked). So, not only was I frustrated by the situation-NOW they are finding humor in making me feel stupid and like a nuscience. I go in to explain my card was charged and at this point I just wanted a refund when the clerk says, "Oh! we just started your order!" and so I wait. The girl working there just rolled her eyes and smirks the whole time, the cook is wandering around like I am burdening him with my presence and then goes behind the food area to make the pizza while eating out of a container with a spoon over the food station. The nicer guy- the clerk refunded me and was going to just comp the pizza but after watching the cook eating, I lost it, said forget it and left. I will not return. I went to the Navarre Domino's right after and it was the tightest ship they were running- professional and all on task, friendly and respectful. The complete opposite of my experience at Papa John's. We never got our pizza. At 7 pm, i ordered a pizza that was supposed to be delivered within 69-79 min. At around 815, a message popped up on my computer saying they were running a little late. At 845 pm I called to find out what a "little late" meant. The manager said it would take another hour because they were short of drivers but my pizza was ready to go. Everytime I order a pizza they quote a certain time and it's always 30 min to an hour more. It's ridiculous to wait over an hour and half for pizza. I will not order again. I understand that people are short staffed but if quoted a time frame then you hav to wait another 30-45 min at the store. That's ridiculous. read more

I'm from Kentucky where Papa Johns started, so I'm automatically a fan... but not just because of that. I genuinely love Papa John's pizza. With that being said, I must say that the pizza that I had from this location was the worst Papa John pizza that I've ever had. I usually order online, and save my favorite options, which makes it pretty simple. This time we called and ordered a two pizza special. Delivery was quick and efficient. My only issue was the pizza. Maybe if you've never had Papa John's you wouldn't know the difference, but this location could use some help. The cheese didn't cover the entire pizza. The banana peppers were not the right consistently, more crisp than crunchy. That might sound strange, but if you know about fresh banana peppers, you know what I mean. The mushrooms were clearly not fresh and the chicken was dry, as if it were old or left out too long. My stomach was upset afterward, so I didn't eat anymore of the leftovers, as I'd planned to do. I'll give it a two because delivery was quick. Overall there was nothing good about the pizza and had it have been my first experience with Papa John's, I would never try it again. Ordered a large pizza (as I've done several times before) but they delivered a medium pizza instead. When I called, the gentleman insisted it was a large pizza because of a sticker that they put on the box that says 14''. Seems to me you can put a sticker that SAYS 14" on a 12" box which is what I believe they did. Not on purpose or anything just an honest mistake. But I would've liked him to just go ahead and fix the amount on my charge card so that I was charged for what I actually got but I could see that he was going to go by the sticker rather than what I could see with my own eyes; the slice I was holding that was barely the size of my hand, maybe the size of three of their garlic sauces. The service at this establishment is horrendous! I came with my family on vacation to Navarre and we decided to order pizza one night. I called and was hung up on after misunderstanding what the employee was asking. After calling twice again with no answer, the gentleman finally picked up. I explained kindly that we had just called to place a delivery and were hung up on. He rudely responded saying he hung up due to me laughing and answering the question he asked wrong. I was not laughing, I was in a room with my family, but regardless the employees should put the customers first. The question he had asked me was "What is the area code of your phone number?" I answered with 866, that being the area code in Navarre, he then took a long pause and hung up. When I told him what I heard he asked, he was very sassy with me denying that he said that and said he had asked for my phone number. I did end up placing an order trying to look past the service I experienced. Our medium pizza and small cheese stick WERE NEVER DELIVERED. We waited over 3 hours for it. The Papa John's website states,"[...] unsatisfied customers can call their local Papa John's within 30 minutes of their original pickup or delivery to receive another pizza free of charge [...]" By the time our pizza was delivered the establishment was closed and it was past our delivery time so we were not given the chance to do this. I am pretty sure this statement is set for pizzas that are not great quality, but at many pizza establishments, like dominos, if your pizza is not delivered within the time frame they give you, your pizza becomes free. If the employees are not even kind to the customers that are kind to them, it makes me wonder how they would treat a difficult customer. In any job dealing with people, you should know the customer is ALWAYS right. Customer service should be the business's top priority if they are wanting to stay in business. I'm new to the area and really wanted pizza delivered. I'm not really crazy about Pizza Hut or dominos and figured if I was going to order pizza, I should do it right and make it worth the calories! I had never had Papa Johns and was so pleasantly surprised! I got the bread knots, a promotional deal for a large two topping pizza (I chose pepperoni and olives) and a brownie. It was $25 including delivery and arrived in 30 minutes. Exceptional everything and it was beyond delish! They even added a garlic sauce with the pizza and pepperoncini which was a great touch. Seriously, everything tastes great. I don't know why they've got such a bad review, but if I ever want pizza again, I'm going here. The Navarre Papa John's is really good. The employees are always nice when I go to pick up. We live between the Gulf Breeze and Navarre store and I pick Navarre because their pizza seems better- more chewy and gooey and less dry. Call me crazy, but it really seems superior. But the place was an epic Failure~ I had a Vegan in the crowd so I ordered a to go vegetable pizza with just vegetables and sauce on one half and the other half vegetables,sauce and cheese for the rest of us..... Well I got a pizza with vegetables and cheese on one half and just cheese and sauce on the other half. I drove in during rush hour to pick it up on the way home, did not check it and even tipped them 3 dollars on the failed order? Sorry to be mean but I stressed it 2 times when ordering and 'Meghan' said "yes sir I got this"! Only she didn't get it correct... and it was very awkward as when I got to the house the vegan just sat there staring and could not eat.
