I wanted to take a step back into time to the 90s, so I fired up the Papa John's website and ordered a regular large supreme pizza with some chicken wings. Generally speaking, I thought the pizza was fine (although the crust was a bit too doughy. The chicken wings were a bit "too saucy" and a bit too small for me. But, the food was decent and more or less what I expected. The service was ok. Although I received a text saying the pizza was ready for pickup, I still had to wait a about 5 minutes, I did not think it was anything too unreasonable. Actually, I'll take that last bit back. From the Papa John's website, I had assumed that it would choose a restaurant closest to me based on my zip code. However, when I went to the 1st Papa John's location (about a 3-minute drive), I was told that they did not receive an order from me. When I double checked the text, I realized that I went to the wrong location, and the correct location was actually a 10-minute drive. So technically, I guess my wait time would have been longer (at least 15 minutes) had I gone to the correct location the first time around. read more

I had a large order for my class today. Unfortunately I had a conflict in my schedule with the time I scheduled the delivery. I called this location at 11:10 thinking there's no way they'll be able to get my the pizza earlier than I scheduled (which was 12:45). The man who answered the phone was so kind and understanding and said they'd get started right away and get it to me ASAP. He even called me to let me know it was in the office at 12:10! My daughter is in the hospital at holy cross and requested pizza. I came in right around the time they opened. The manager sent another employee to the front that told me I will be unable to place an order for the next 15 mins or longer because they are fully a large order. it's very unfortunate because now I need to drive out my way to another papa John's because they only worry about large orders at this time a day. I ordered a pizza and garlic knots through doordash. I only got the pizza (which was made correctly albeit missing a bit in the topings department and some were burnt). I open the secondary smaller box which I thought were the garlic knots, turns out they were not. It was some random order of chicken wings. I called and talked to one of the managers and she said that she couldn't do edit and/or change my order at all since I ordered through doordash. I then explained my order and what I got and she said that they actually had my garlic knots there with them and that it was one of her employees who gave my doordash guy the wrong box. I asked for some kind of credit for the Papa John's store itself since it was THEIR fault. The lady kept repeating to me that she could not edit/change my order since it was done through doordash. I tried explaining once more that it didn't have anything to do with doordash since it was them who got it wrong and not doordash. She repeated herself once more and gave me no help at all. In the end I got a semi good pizza, chicken wings that were NOT on my order instead of my garlic knots and no refund or credit AT ALL for their mistake. They should call this place Papa Thieves Pizza! I ordered a pizza from here to be delivered. Keep in mind I paid with my debit card via the Papa Johns app. When the driver came to my door he said he forgot the receipt in the car and I said that's fine and I tipped him in cash and he went about his night. A couple of days later I was checking my transaction history due to a non-related issue but I noticed Papa Johns charged me $31.67 for my order and I remember my total was $27.67 so I went to my emails to look at my receipt to verify, and sure enough my total was actually $27.67. That's right, somebody got an extra $4 tip! I called the store and spoke with the manager which was a man and he was very apologetic and offered me a full refund if I came into the store. I wasn't really expecting a refund.I was more so mad that the driver really just did that after I gave him a cash tip when I didn't even have too. I felt like he robbed me! Anyway I told the manager I will come in the following day since I was at work and couldn't make it. The next day I went in and the manager on duty (a woman this time) was on lunch break for an hour which is fine, I came back in an hour. But when I came back she seemed to didn't have any clue as to what was going on. She wasn't very unapologetic and made it seem like I was making the whole thing up. She even was going through the receipts, in which I doubt she even found it because I told her I was never offered a receipt so It was impossible for me to have put a tip on it. Let alone sign it. In conclusion, she wasted over an hours of my time for me to receive a $4 refund that I later donated to a different restaurant as a tip since they never let me down like Papa Johns just did. To be clear, it wasn't about the money, it was about the customer service and I really felt they dropped the ball. The manager wasn't apologetic at all. She even took up for the driver and said he never did this before and that he might of meant to put it on a different receipt since he had multiple orders. Also I just felt she thought I was lying about situation. They have permanently lost my business and I'm iffy to go to any other Papa Johns branch due to the fact that this probably hasn't been the first time they've been doing this. I really feel like I have been robbed. Pizza isn't the best here either to begin with so take your money else where if your having doubt! It's Papa John's. So what can I really say that is going to be earth shattering, overly useful, or the least bit novel? Well, I enjoy the company's pizza, and this store executes the company's master pizza plan very well. They run good specials and the delivery is always fast, friendly, and the food is fresh and hot. Sometimes, and more often than past locations I've ordered from (including non-chain pizza places, both here and in other cities/states I've lived in), the pizza feels like it just came out of the oven. I've never had an order messed up by this location. And I've never had to wait forever for the food to arrive, even during what I would guess to be busy times. Overall, I'm glad this Papa John's is well run. I enjoy the pizza from PJ's, so to have a place get it right is nice. I've ordered from some really sad-sack Papa John's before! read more

I really think there is a lot of hype surrounding pizza in general. People will swear by a certain kind of pizza, but for my money, Papa John's is one of my favorites. Papa John's pizza is one of the best chain store pizza's around. They've got the great tomato sauce, good big toppings with delicious cheese covering it all. Pizza is still pizza... so you probably won't find a huge difference but one thing they do give here is garlic sauce; it goes well with the pizza and makes it a little extra unhealthy & salty... but that's what I like! Be careful, if you call them and complain, they will put you on the "do not answer list" this happened to me last night. If I could give this place zero stars I would! My pizza was delivered late and cold. Before it was delivered, I called in to check on it. I was told it was on its way and would arrive in 10 minutes. Typical, quick pizza. We called in an order for pick-up and were happy to see everything hot and ready when we arrived. I've never been overly impressed with Papa John's quality, but it's solid and right in the same zone with places like Pizza Hut and a small step above Domino's. They never fail to...fail! 9 out of 10 delivery drivers refuse to put in the door code for them to be able to come in. They always claim the code never works when we use it every-single-day! The pizza arrived quickly, and it was hot. The order was done correctly, and the food was pretty good- not amazing, but it was good for delivery from a chain restaurant. The only complaint that I have is that the delivery man asked me for a larger tip, which I thought was rude. I was already charged $2.50 for the delivery fee, and then I gave him $3 on a $37 order. I understand that $5.50 is not a lot of money, but this isn't a sit down restaurant where I will give my server a %20 tip when he/she does a good job. I gave him a few bucks, but he insisted that I give him more money and then stood there staring awkwardly at me and my kids. We tried to order a chicken spinach Alfredo pizza online for $17.99. After having no success we picked up the tele and phoned in the order. Upon arrival (and after paying, my bad) we noticed there was no chicken on the pizza. We brought it to their attention and they were stuck on stupid. No attempt to offer any solutions. I hemmed and hawed back and forth about whether to take it or not. (I just finished a paramedic shift and was tired and hungry and still in uniform and wet from the rain). After a moment I said..."to hell with it. I'll take it. Just credit me for next time.". The girl took my name and number and I left. The next day I called to place another order using my "credit" and again they were stuck on stupid. First, they tried to say they had no documentation from the previous night. Then they said the girl I dealt with was due in any moment and that they needed to speak to her to get her side of the story. I have had Papa John's pizza in a while so I can't speak to the quality or taste of the food. The one star is based on poor customer service alone. Update: at 8pm, the pizza was finally delivered. First of all, Papa John's charges you a $2.00 delivery fee for ordering online -- Which does NOT include tip. Second, the delivery guy showed up with no change on him, so he had to drive back to the restaurant, then back to my house just to get me my pizza, which all in all took an hour and 20 minutes. Let's be honest: I'm the one who deserves a one-star review. I am a bad and not very smart person. You more or less know what you're going to get when you order Papa John's, and it isn't going to be better than OK. You hope it will be better than Domino's, but that bar is low. You're either a stoner who doesn't much care what you're getting, or you're feeding kids, who for some reason like anything that looks vaguely like pizza. I am in the latter category, and I live in a quality pizza dead zone (and why isn't this a campaign issue?). It's pretty much Papa John's or Domino's, and... yeah. It's also unaccountably expensive. If I could be bothered to hustle the kids into the car and take them to Chipotle, they would be even happier, the food would be better, and it would cost me at least $10 less. But sometimes I cannot psych myself up enough to corral them into the car, or cannot face yet another burrito. So I pay. The real problem is that I order from this location over and over again and I'm somehow always surprised that delivery takes more than an hour. Which it does, pretty much every time. And when the only reason a sane person would order is because they have hungry kids, this really does not solve one's problem, but rather compounds it. So when the pizza finally arrives and it sucks, I'm disappointed even though I knew it would suck. Because I paid a lot of money to solve a problem, and my problem was not solved and I have to eat crappy pizza. So why do I keep calling? I must not be very clever, or perhaps I am subconsciously punishing myself for being a horrible person. I placed my order online for delivery at this location. An hour passed and I hadn't received anything so I called and the lady said they were busy and the driver had just left. She said my order would arrive in 20 minutes. Another hour passed and still nothing so I called again. The lady said the driver took my food and it said it was delivered and I told I had not received it. The manager came on the phone and he started telling me my last order was placed a month ago. HOW?? If I had called before and the woman I spoke to said they were on there way and said it should've arrived already and suddenly my last order was a month ago. Doesn't seem to make any sense. My cousin called a few minutes after and the manager told her there was no lady working there which is a LIE because when I called BOTH times I spoke to a LADY and she told me my order was there.
