2 asada tacos
Deveny A.

Service was fast and nice. The tacos were bomb and the salsa was the perfect addition!!

Birria Tacos, Carne Asada Burrito, Al Pastor Tacos, and Carne Asada burrito

Quick tips: 1. Papa's Tacos shares its space with Michoacana, which is so coincidentally a good place for dessert 2. Pretty extensive menu spanning tacos, tortas, burritos, plates, nachos and fries. 3. Salsa and limes upon request. Service is excellent and friendly! No gatekeeping when it comes to this place which is so excellent for newbies. Fortunately, I'm well versed in Mexican food and love tacos and everything in between. Food comes out made to order and very hot! The tacos are pretty simplistic, but the food is made expertly. I appreciate the effort involved with fresh food. There was barely any line here, which made it a quick and fast stop! The carne asada was a little under seasoned but the pastor was fantastic. It had just a lovely flavor with the combination of onions and so on. The quesobirria tacos were slightly spicy, but had a nice crunch to it all. The person rolling the burrito and tacos will also add stuff if you want a bit extra of this and that. Overall a good experience!

Good food good price and the atmosphere made me home sick for Mexico I grew up eating raspados, tacos and paletas de hielo. I'll be coming here again soon!

Papa's Tacos is small Mexican restaurant inside of the Michoacana this a unique concept a restaurant and ice cream parlor in one building. My wife and I decided to get two carne asada plate it comes with rice and beans. We decided to take it home and also get dessert inside the Michoacana we order Mangoada to go. We arrive home then try the tacos these tacos were very good with so much flavors the carne asada and the meat was very tender we enjoy and the rice and bean were very good. Next time we need try different items.

I wouldn't have found this place if it weren't for Yelp, and what a treat that I did! This hole In the wall has all the good stuff - lengua, birria, Al Pasteur - and they do them all equally well. Came here for a quick bite to eat before heading back up north and it was so delicious I had to get two more tacos for the road. It's located next to a dessert counter so you can easily eat your fill here in this small but open space. The lady who worked at the counter was super friendly and tried her best to communicate with me even though she didn't speak much English and my Spanish is abysmal. The food more than spoke for itself. Will definitely come back again!

Al pastor, carnitas, chicharon taco
Elena C.

Opens until late, and the perfect food for late night chow. Al pastor is the best and my favorite. Chicharon is nice and not gamey. Carnitas so-so, wished it's more crispy and less dry. Lengua is kinda gamey though. The taco dorados is perfectly crisped. Will come again to try the menudo and pozole

Awful meat ratio to rice and beans in the burritos.
Eric M.

Good to support mom and pop spots but let's do better on the quality. Add a little more meat and the customers will be satisfied and return.

Carnitas Tacos: The warm corn tortillas contain chopped pork shoulder that has been crisped up on the flattop. The simple dressing of a pickled jalapeno and pickled carrots with cilantro allows you to focus on the flavor of the carnitas. The meat is tender, rich and juicy, while also crispy. Carnitas Mulitas Aporkalypse: If you are really hungry, a mulitas will always hit the spot. Two large tortillas are covered in cheese to form a thin, crispy, cheesy crust that extends past the edges. More gooey cheese is filled between the tortillas, along onions, cilantro, and carnitas. If you select the Aporkalypse, you are signing up for an explosion of flavor that is provided by all the meats. There is an incredible assortment of pork butt, pork belly, pork skin, and burnt ends. The spectrum of textures is unrivaled from soft and succulent to crunchy and shattering. The slow cooking respects the ingredients and offers up the fullest expression of pork flavor. Parking: This location has a large parking lot.

The menu is quite simple, but beware that no prices are listed on the main menu, but they are on the paper menus. They accept Apple Pay/credit cards. I ordered the asada burrito and the pollo caramelo and added the grilled poblano (as recommended on Yelp!). The tortillas were the true stars -- soft, nice chew, with a buttery mouth feel (probably lard). The fillings were just ok. The inside reminded me of a Taco Bell 7 layer burrito -- a lot going on but all the flavors kinda blend together. I (incorrectly) thought the beans were refried, but they are not. Whatever is going on inside, I didn't find much structure. The burrito was the best. The caramelo was a lazily folded burrito. I read that it was like a quesadilla, but I couldn't disagree more. I would skip this next time. I spent $25 and it was a lot of food, but I wasn't impressed, especially given the hype and the fact that LA should really be the pinnacle of Mexican food. Not sure if I'll make a second trip here.

Cuzzz this is technically ELA (& that is my stance) & like I said before, I really had no reason to venture out of my little neighborhood, especially for tacos. & I will not even mention that just cuz this was in a famous iconic movie that still didn't motivate me to visit. so anyway, as soon as I pull up There's no parking but i make my own spot heehee Upon entering on a sunday afternoon its busy but no line out the door I peruse the dry goods & theres a variety of dried chiles, tamale husks & semillas for pipian im assuming. Theres coolers for tall cans & 6 packs ofc & single Gatorades, soda, canned flvor Topo Chico etc Staff is all 100% professional & above & beyond & then some! Prices average Selections of meats average I MISTAKENLY THOUGHT this was like an indoor mall w// many food vendors (like El Mercadito) So I ordered like a pound of Carnitas to go & 2 tacos de lengua to eat in the car. ( tons of meat, im guessing 4 oz each, flavorful & not dry) The tortillas are handmade & extremely thick af, like a gordita. My family loved the carnitas. she even gave me a sample of buche They take non cash payments Will return if i have to. Will recommend due to customer service & it is like a must if in LA

I'm nit Hispanic but can speak a decent amount to get by as I've worked in restaurants for 10+ years. I was cordial and polite during this visit, especially so because I got shit on by a different customer at my own job. I make it a point not to pay that disrespect forward. Customer service is obligatory here. If they had a order kiosk like taco bell, I think my experience might have been better. There was wasn't even anyone here. Check with that person that what they entered into the computer matches the list. 4. Check every item as it comes through the pick up window. 5. Be prepared to still have to address mistakes.
