I am a music photographer who travels the world with the world's greatest musical talents (Michael Jackson, AC/DC, Rolling Stones, or Rammstein, to name a few) for almost 40 years. When being asked "where do you live" I tended to ask "in hotels". At my peak, I "shot" 250 shows a year. Will say: been there, saw and tasted it, and a lot, as I may say and much to the dismay of my doctor who is in my back to lose a few pounds. Quite a few, as I may add, which is why my wife and I walk ten thousand steps per day, where- and whenever we can - and explore a lot of new exciting places - places you may oversee when just driving by. While I love to share my experience with others, I am sometimes shocked how people use their "power of the word" to down-rate amazing places because of minor incidents (in my all-time favorite restaurant Le Petit Four on Sunset Plaza the owner was even called a racist as he refused to toast the (free) bread in his packed restaurant - they simply do not offer toasted bread, as no French place does, as I may add). Or I just read "Chicken piccata so over-salted I hope the dog enjoys the leftovers tomorrow, I brought home most of the dish." Did they speak to their service? How could the restaurant learn that something was wrong when patrons even have their leftovers boxed to take home? As a dog owner, I want to take the writer and shake him or her really bad and say "you give over-salted food to your dog? Anyone with a bit of brain understands this is a horrible idea... I hope you agree. So If I had the say on this portal, I would offer just to see the ratings of my friends. So I would see what the ratings were by like-minded people. Sadly, I have no say. I try not to compare apples with oranges. A place like this simply does not compare to "The Ritz". At first, I assume that a restaurant is clean, they do not greet you with a gun - and they deliver whatever they promise. I do not give stars for things that are expected. China Restaurant Hong Kong - Koblenz…read more A touch of China in Koblenz If you like Chinese's food, based on taste, price and atmosphere this is another well kept secret in Koblenz. Excellent food, great atmosphere, and great location! I visited this restaurant at the end of April 2015 on a Thursday evening, after making a reservation for two on that same Thursday afternoon. When I first called for a reservation, they hung up on me! However the second time I called, they were friendly and took my information. We arrived before 19:30, our reservation time and our table was waiting for us, as promised. In fact, the waiter recognized my voice from my telephone call. The Menu consists of a variety of Chinese dishes. The Menu is very easy to read and understand. Plus, salads and vegetarian meals are also available. Prices are average, fair, and the portions are good. Before our food was served the waiter brought a small hot plate to keep our plates hot. Both food dishes came, hot as required and within a timely manner. Empty plates were collected, when appropriate and at that time we were nicely asked if everything was OK. I had rice with chicken and vegetables and my partner had duck with fried chicken and white rice. I tasted both dishes and I can happily recommend both meals as delicious. The atmosphere is pleasant and the restaurant nicely decorated, in a Chinese ambient but is not over done. As one enters the establishment there is a water fountain with live gold fish. The tables are nicely decorated with a candle, table cloth and paper napkins (which I prefer) that match the table cloth. The restaurant is roomy and well organized concerning space. I noticed that the restaurant has two large closets with plenty of space to hang coats, jacket or hats and where one can see their coat, jacket or hat from almost anywhere in the restaurant. It would be a great place for a special occasion. One can either sit outside (now that we have good weather), inside in the front of the restaurant and look out through the window, or farther inside. The outside the eating area is on the sidewalk not partitioned from the sidewalk but covered. From Inside through the windows there is a nice view of the outside trees and plants. After we paid, we were given two plum wines as a parting drink. We were also friendly wished a pleasant day, as we left the restaurant. The Internet page is on Google and is very well organized and informative but it is only in German. On-line Menu can be found at http://www.speisekarte.de. Negatives are: 1) while parking is available on the street, one has to pay to park. So if you want to have the privilege to eat at this restaurant, you have to pay to park and pay to eat. 2) Internet Page is only in German. My partner said that without our coupon book she would have never stopped here to eat and now that she knows the restaurant exists, she wants to come back. She just loved the food. Overall this restaurant receives my best recommendation and we will both be back to enjoy another meal.
