Was very plesantly surprised by Papa's. First time there, and on Faher's Day, very busy. They honored our reservation, friendly staff, had a complementary glass of beer for the fathers, very nice touch. Big selection !!! First time coming to Papa's Raw Bar. I was a bit skeptical when arriving in the parking lot, however really glad that I gave it a chance! The restaurant is a super understated bar from the outside, and a very relaxing and beachy feel on the inside. Service is superb! Friendly, quick, and truly refreshing. The food is absolutely top notch! Great strong flavors! And a vast sushi menu you can enjoy. I wish I was more hungry as there were so many items I wanted to try. I'm glad the owner mentioned to me that they have a half priced oysters on Mondays and a great happy hour as well, which I will make sure to try next time I come here. The Nola Oysters were amazing! Can't believe I've never reviewed here. So Papa's has been a go to for a long time. Maybe I don't want to add more people waiting in line now because of such a great review. Oh well... excellent selection of fresh seafood and sushi. So many good options always make it tough when ordering. Bimini Bread is to die for! So good, you'll thank me. They usually have stone claw deals. Recently it was 6 jumbo's for $130. The staff is always friendly and will recommend great choices. Stonie Ragoons are amazing! Rock Shrimp, when they have them are amazing! You can sit outside in the bar area or in the dining room. Also note, food usually comes out very timely, never a long wait. Our first time at Papa's Raw Bar! We were sat at the Sushi Bar, which was exciting. We were greeted by the coolest waiter, Sam, who was so friendly, energetic, and had so much fun information and tips about the menu! He's an incredible waiter, if you get the opportunity to have him as yours! We ordered drinks and Sam mentioned that Kelly added some cool drinks to the menu and advised that they have different flavors of margaritas! I chose coconut, and it was superb! Frothy, tangy, sweet coconuty, just an absolute perfect margarita. Kelly can make an awesome drink!! I ordered two!! My husband had a local red ale on draft. We then started with a half dozen oysters, which were blue points and honestly, soo big! (Picture included) also a basket of steamed clams (no picture, they were eaten too fast). Next we ordered sushi rolls.. I ordered the Pelagic Roll (Spicy tuna, asparagus, avocado, cream cheese, pineapple, seaweed salad, topped with wahoo, jalapeno, masago, sesame seeds, and dynamite sauce!) and my husband ordered the Santiso Roll (Beer battered wahoo, spicy lump crabmeat, asparagus, avocado, topped with spicy tuna, jalapeno, masago, sesame seeds, crunchy flakes, and bomb sauces.) They might have a sign that says locals only but make no mistake, this place caters to everyone, particularly with the quality and price. It's an unassuming strip mall place but inside was warm and inviting. The service was terrific and was great to recommend a few items. We started with the bread (with cinnamon sugar butter, how can you go wrong), fresh oysters ($2 each for happy hour til 7) and wahoo bites. All were excellent. The oysters tasted particularly fresh and were great but so was the wahoo. We also got the tuna nachos which came with 6 and seems a little stingy for the price. That said, we gobbled them down. We then went with a snapper fried rice which had just an excellent amount of fish that was so so good. It was tender and flavorful. And the rice was a generous portion. And then we did four sushi rolls. The Yom Kippur one was a nice simple salmon but we really liked the spicy wahoo one. Great to get really fresh seafood in a sushi roll. Absolutely LOVED this place! My friend and I were visiting Deerfield Beach for a few days and wanted sushi so we just googled a bunch of places and the menu really drew us in (along with the star rating!). In my experience, when you have sushi on a menu but a lot of other choices, the food is going to be either really good or just plain bad. This food was SO GREAT! I can honestly say I'm so impressed by the quality of their sushi and fish. To start, the pina colada I ordered was a 10/10, I could've drank so many of them. They used toasted coconut which was a cool spin on the drink and delicious. The conch chowder I had was exactly the kind of tang I was hoping for. The crispy rice was not the best I've had but it definitely satisfied my craving for it. The firecracker roll was delish! And the salmon sashimi was sooo fresh! But the one dish I have told so many people about and will not forget are the blackened sword bites! Oh man, they melted in my mouth and they were perfectly cooked. The staff were incredible. So nice and charming, food came out quickly. The outside is also so unassuming to how great the food is. Inside is fun! I honestly cannot wait to come back to this place. I had a craving for some seafood and decided to come to Papa's Raw Bar. We came around lunch time. They serve very fresh seafood, po' boys, sushi rolls, and various sea food dishes. Everything I've had is really good and fresh. This is a super chill place with very eclectic, fun decor. I also like the fact, they carry one of my favorite wines of the moment. A red blend from Paso Robles by Austin. Hope called Troublemaker. Both times have been here, the food has been really good and the service has been OK. It is not cheap by any means, you can easily spend a couple of hundred dollars if you order a couple of appetizers, entrees and drinks when you come here. I have also purchased some seafood from the shop next-door, which is very fresh. Papa's is a great locals spot for seafood and sushi albeit expensive. We do like to sit at the bar inside even tho there is an outside bar with music because the smokers are there. I had a bowl of conch chowder that is always very good and being in a cinched out mode I got the cracked conch (deep fried) that was plentiful and excellent. My wife had 3 pieces of snapper sushi which were quite thick but her opinion was it was amazing. Additionally she had the shrimp tacos also excellent! We had three beers and two wines and with the tip it was $150. Good but kind of expensive for what it is. That's the reason for 4 stars. Expensive. The inside bar seating is tight and usually full but the service is very good. A good locals spot that has a little sticker shock. read more

So this restaurant is connected to Papas raw bar so they have fresh fish coming in every day. Our water Steven was exceptional. He told us about the special and made recommendations of the specials and other standard items based on what WE liked. Plus he told us that we didn't need some things so we didn't over order. A man of integrity. Highly recommend the grilled oysters they put cheese on them. My hubby ordered the salad and broccoli was fresh and the french fries were good. I also recommended the yelp dragon role if you like salmon shrimp tempura and avocado. I had the sauce on the side. They have different specials each month and happy hours. He was nothing short of phenomenal, incredibly attentive, genuinely friendly, and impressively knowledgeable about the menu. He took the time to walk us through our options, answer all our questions with patience, and even offer honest recommendations. On his suggestion, I tried the Cartel Roll, my first time having wahoo in sushi, and it was outstanding! My family ordered the Blackened Shrimp Po' Boy, Shrimp Fried Rice, and the Triple Tail Fried Rice (which came with a full filet!) -- every single dish was a hit. Will is easily one of the best servers we've ever had, and his attentiveness and warmth truly made our experience memorable. It was actually a little chilly outside, so it was perfect. Our waiter was awesome. He was very attentive, answered all our questions, & offered great suggestions. We were a group of 6, so we tried a lot of different dishes! I think I had the best clam chowder I've had in awhile. It was so thick and flavorful. We got a plethora of entrees, ranging from fish, to lobster, to tacos, to shrimp. Everyone loved their order and we were all so full at the end. This is my family's FAVORITE restaurant. My parents seriously come here every weekend and sit at the cool outdoor bar to listen to music. Their sushi is phenomenal -- get the Tod Roy roll!!! Sadly (not really) the sushi is so good I haven't really tried much else, except for a bite of my Dad's fish sandwich which literally melted in my mouth (SO GOOD). You can really tell how fresh the seafood is. Prices are steep but totally worth it. The wait staff here is always so friendly and we love coming on Sunday nights to listen to the live music outside. Bar area inside is also lots of fun. Fresh and local, need I say more? Papas Raw Bar is located in a small shopping center with plenty of parking. The market is located in the front, and the restaurant is tucked in the corner. You have your choice from the plentiful outdoor or indoor seating, bar seating is available at both. We were sat promptly, as is the case when you aren't there at "rush" hour! Otherwise, you may have quite the wait. This hidden gem, isn't so hidden ;). We always start with a dozen oysters, which are now only on special Thursday's. They are always fresh and delicious, especially with the Local Motive hot sauce. My biggest complaint, and honestly something I hope changes!!!, is the oysters almost always have shells in them! I always hope this time will be different, but without a doubt it's happened every time... The Bangin' Shrimp Po Boy is next level!! Normally we've gotten it fried, but to watch the waistline we opted for grilled. Delicious!! And the sauces are what makes it. The Poke Bowl is a staple as well, I added rice to give it some extra substance. But no lack of protein with three types of fish, and sliced mango for a sweet surprise!!
