This is another one of the really nice shops along the Calle Independencia in Tlaquepaque,…read moreGuadalajara. It's got a little bit of everything, mostly for the home and garden, all of it quality merchandise. From its rather small entryway, the store opens up into a cavernous experience. Most of the products they sell are made in Mexico and most take on an artisan quality to them. They also have a large collection of Alebrijes, the Mexican sculptures of fantastical (fantasy/mythical) creatures, all hand-made and all with the wonderful detail in colour and paint that makes these sculptures so popular with the locals and tourists alike. In the big back portion of the store, there are a lot of glass items, glass ornaments, hanging glass sculptures and hand-made mirrors. You could easily spend an hour or two in this shop with all the variety of products they sell. There are some touristic items, but most of it is made for your home. Coleccion Arte de Mexico is on one of Guadalajara's nicest shopping streets with plenty of upscale shops as well as more reasonably priced vendors that sell from card tables on the car-free shopping Calle.

Came to see the shops and concert at 7 on Saturday nights and was not disappointed! The main area…read morein the street center is like a flea market for artists and craftspeople, with a free concert area where you have to detour to enter through the back (I just followed the teenagers). They do check your bags. Singers played a few songs, stopped for half an hour, then played another few. They also sold DVDs by the concert venue.
