Good place to go bankrupt. It has so many cute little quirky, gifty, awesome, cool things, besides gazillion types of stationary. Mostly you come here to buy gifts for someone else, only to end up ALSO gifting yourself! It is expensive but totally worth it. This Paper Source has it all - cards, gift wrapping, stationery, stickers, decorations, and much more, at a lower price than Papyrus. I appreciated that they had a Lunar New Year corner and LGBTQ friendly wedding cards, though I hope that in the future they'll have more than 1-2 cards! Their attentive employees are eager to help, and I like that they have post-Christmas/Hanukkah discounts (50-75% off). However, when checking out discounted items, triple check that they apply the discounts from the displays, as the bar codes often did not reflect the display discounts. I had to go back and get a refund due to the mismatch in the barcode system. Note: They don't have a loyalty program yet but will soon, likely using the system from Barnes & Noble, who just bought them. read more

Stopped in here quickly to warm up on a cold day. Other than clothing stores, there are not a lot of regular retail options on this stretch of 5th avenue. I was the only customer in the store, plus 2 employees. The people were very accommodating and helpful and didn't "hover" over me, which I appreciated.  There a lot of neat little gift ideas and cards here, plus the traditional paper and pen and sticker selection. Also good for holiday specific options.  They had a nice little Easter display when I visited. Just a nice little escape from the digital into the traditional. read more

If you are looking for a Valentine's Day card this place has a nice selection of crafty/Etsy types. Very "pink" in here and it seems the kind of shop set up more for the ladies. Plenty of craft paper products - wrapping paper, foil, cards, gifts, stationary, seasonal items, etc. Prices seemed ok for what was offered here, but I'm no expert on this stuff. Kind of on par with Papyrus, and also they are a chain store with locations popping up around the city. This store has EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING! I could spend an hour inside easy. It's kind of like papyrus on steroids. From cards to cute little gifts to go with the card this place is awesome. Staff is really helpful showing you where things are because you can get overwhelmed when you go inside! Other than that this place is perfect. They even have balloons. My husband and I went to Paper Source to pick out our wedding invitations. Unfortunately, we had a pretty negative experience. We had to schedule a few different appointments to nail down all of the details. For each appointment, we had a different sales person. While this would have been fine, each sales person would give us conflicting information about what we could or couldn't order as well as pricing. This made the process really frustrating and take longer than it should have. We finally worked with the manager (who was great) and ordered the invites. Within 2 days, the news about COVID hit and we immediately called to cancel our order. Given they said it would take 6-8 weeks of production, we figured that cancelling about 48 hours later wouldn't be a problem. Instead, the team took days to get in touch with the production center and told us there was nothing they could do. Then the stores all closed and our point of contact was unreachable. When we contacted customer service, I was floored by how rude they were. No apologies for what had happened or willingness to help. Having worked with several other vendors pre and during COVID, I can confidently say that Paper Source was by far the worse to work with. Every other vendor went to great lengths to help us navigate the unfortunate situation whereas Paper Source made zero effort other than a small discount for a future order. No need, we won't be visiting them again. read more

I went in today because I confused them with Paper Presentation. Though they did not have the paper selection I wanted the sales team was helpful and accommodating during my search. The first thing as I entered the store I was greeted by a warm and welcoming greeting. Though I did not make a purchase today, the service I received today was friendly and that really goes a long way with me. I'll try them out again and hopefully they will be able to suit my paper needs next time around. read more

Great store with adorable things, but associates are a little chaotic, uncommunicative, and slow. Currently waiting on their gift wrapping service, and so far **four** people have been involved and I've been here 20 minutes watching them sluggishly wrap my items, stopping to chat with each other. No one at the register, so they're not just too busy. The associate that offered to "help" me choose items haphazardly pulled things from shelves and took them to the register to start ringing up without consulting me about color, size, anything. Felt very weird and I had to change all of the items with another associate that became involved. I generally feel confused and impatient. Three small items to be wrapped ended up being $48. Just for the materials and their service, not the gifts themselves. Will definitely come back to the store to shop, but will do my best to avoid associate interaction. :/ read more

Walking down 5av I spotted this cute place. I wasn't sure what they sold but their window displays lured me in. Walking in I saw some cards, I saw some wrapping paper, I saw a lot of cute little trinkets. If you're like me, I knew I'd stay at least 20-30mins because I wanted to see everything they had. So I started with the cards and worked my way back to the front and back to the back bc I was on a time crunch. The cards were so cute and some are funny. I was looking for a birthday card but there were just so many good ones I wanted them all. They also had a sale that day too so i got a deal. I also bought a retractable ID holder. I really needed one I wish they had it in darker colors or even plain with no quotes behind it. But still happy. read more

Went here for my wedding stationary including invitations, menus, welcome and thank you cards. Stationary for some ridicules reason is super stressful and possibly the worst part of any wedding. I thought this was 'the place' however in the end, we ended up spending a lot of money, and wasted a lot of time. Yes, it's a very large chain (I think there are around 10 locations in NYC alone), but it's a great go-to for this snail mail enthusiast. From birthday cards to thank you card sets to lovely wrapping paper, party supplies, and even cute little gifts and knicknacks, they always have something that catches my eye. I send a lot of cards and have noticed that their bday card selection isn't updated very often, but other than that I don't have many complaints about this spot. Yes, I always try to patronize the cute independently owned stationery stores in town, but when in a pinch Paper Source definitely does the trick! read more

If you love pink and gold foil, you'll love this place. It's got everything for a DIY build-your-own Kate Spade store. Hard for me to review this place considering it's so gender-specific. Many craft paper stores are but this even more so. The selection is a bit limited and more "finished" meaning their products are best as is and may not be as versatile for projects as items in a more raw, blank format. Prices are on par with the others or maybe a tad cheaper based on what I browsed. There are some gorgeous items though. Some of there novelty paper sheets are far better than some I've seen at Paper Presentation, Kate's or Papyrus. read more

I have not purchased anything from Paper Source since my wedding planning days. So every time I step into one of their stores, it brings back many fond memories of wedding invitations and crafts. I must say those were the best parts of the wedding planning process. The rest are debatable depending on how you look at it. Anyway, so when I saw this relatively new store opened near Union Square, I had to check it out. The layout is a lot more spacious than the one I used to go to in Soho. They also seem to carry more inventory here but I think every Paper Source carries the same products regardless. The only difference with this store is that the salespeople are not as friendly and approachable compare to the one in Soho. The people here are a little more aloof and they also don't seem to have a demonstration table (unless I completely missed it). Nevertheless, I still managed to spend almost an hour in here admiring and getting inspiration for my next craft project. read more
