I Was not disappointed, it's a place frequented by locals and visitors alike. Not having much German in my vocabulary, the spoke more English than I speak German. Service was quick and portions plentiful. I had jagged schnitzel it came with fries a small salad and mushroom gravy. It was excellent. I ordered some red cabbage it was delicious. The atmosphere is casual old style. If you want solid local food do yourself a favor and come here

I walked by here a few times, and planned to come and check it out, but there are so many other places I want to eat in Hannover that I kept putting it off. Finally, one evening, as I walked around the city center, undecided as to where I wanted to eat, I walked by this place again, and this time, I opted to go in and see if I could get a table. While I wanted to sit in the Biergarten in the back, nothing was available, so I opted for a table in the front, next to an open window. I ordered a cold Hefeweizen and perused the menu. The waitress spoke good English and I washed her recommendations, and she said that the ribs were a favorite. I was ready for something different than German food for a change, and I know the Germans can make some good ribs, I took her advice and ordered the ribs- I asked if I could get them without their "barbecue sauce" and she said of course. And I am glad I did- German barbecue sauce is very different than American barbecue sauce! The ribs were spectacular! The fries hot and crispy! This place was so good that I came back the next day to meet friend for dinner. Now I have added yet another favorite restaurant to my Hannover list!
