We have never hired a company to do something major to our home without first obtaining at least three estimates, but we made an exception with Papa Charly Painting LLC - and we are so very glad we didn't hesitate! From our first contact to the final walk-thru, Charly and Mimi (and their staff) were professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and prompt to reply to all questions. They could not have been better. (I know that this review is full of superlatives - something I try not to do - but I cannot adequately describe our experience without them.) We just purchased a new-to-us home that needed to be entirely repainted on the inside (we are talking ceilings, moldings, baseboards, doors, etc.) They inspected the home and emailed a quote within hours. We believed it to be fair and signed the contract agreement that evening. Although they are a very busy enterprise, they were able to fit us in and completed the work within their promised timeline. As far as the process goes, it was seamless: the prep work (taping, laying tarps and paper, and removing hardware/etc.) seemed to take the longest amount of time, but it was obviously well worth it because the result is virtually flawless. It looks like a brand new home! (Our realtor said that had it been painted like this prior to our sale, it likely would have sold for about $20K more.) Do yourself a favor and hire these folks. Fantastic!! I can't even tell you how amazing this husband and wife team are. We have never had such a positive experience with painters! They stuck to the schedule that was set for a start date and for completion. They accommodated our time frame. The estimate was detailed and broken down by room so you could see what each part of the job was costing. We appreciated them getting us the paint at their cost. No upcharge. Charly himself is onsite working and supervising. But the most amazing thing is when Charly is done, his wife comes through with a flashlight (not kidding!) and puts blue painters tape on any spots that might have been missed. We recently moved to Hilton Head and needed our new home's entire interior painted. We received several recommendations from friends and contacts in the area. After a week of high estimates and cavalier attitudes from prospective vendors we were desperate to find someone we felt comfortable with and confident with their skill and knowledge. Mimi and Charly run a family painting business and do an incredible job/are amazing craftsmen and business people. Our project was a complete interior repaint of walls, trim, ceilings and many, many drywall repairs in a 5 BR, 5.5 Bath house. When I say the previous owners cut corners in past painting and wall repair, I am minimizing the actuality.. this place was a mess! It was a HUGE job and they did not disappoint! They were here 12.5 business days (Mon-Sat each week) and took great care to ensure all our concerns were anticipated and met. I never heard anyone say "no" and they were single-mindedly focused on ensuring the customer was satisfied at every step in the process. The team is respectful and courteous and took great care moving furniture, wall hangings, TV's, and antiques. (They remove it all and put it back as they found it afterward - including vacuuming and mopping). Mimi's quality walk-thrus are very thorough; she noticed stuff we didn't and the team quickly took care of any/all issues. They were always here when they said they would be and everyone worked very hard to turn this place around. Oh, and the pricing is competitive (I got 4 quotes). Papa Charly's quote was incredibly reasonable, especially considering the level of quality that is an integral part of their business model and all the issues here that needed to be addressed.
