Also available are many snacks, plus (good!) hot coffee at a very low price. There are lots of mass-market tobacco products--cigarettes, snuff, Swisher Sweets, etc., but since I go there for the cigars, that is what I'll be talking about. (I don't know if you can smoke in the store or not, but there's not really a place to do so anyway.) The cigars are located in a glass case under the counter. I wouldn't say they have a large selection of premium stogies, especially toward the lower end of the dollar scale, but what is there is well-tended (I thought they'd be dry, given their seeming lack of star status in the shop, but they were perfectly humidified). Because the cigar stock is limited to what will fit under the counter, the size diversity is somewhat arbitrary--most brands only have one vitola available, and it can be anything from a lengthy Churchill or Lonsdale to a squat little Robusto. Still, in the two times I've been there, I bought an old standby once and a random bargain brand I was certain would be terrible the other time, but I haven't been disappointed yet. The staff are very pleasant, always happy to chat with customers but never pushy if you need to take your time--I suppose, given that a large portion of their customer population seems to be in the 70+ age group, they have trained themselves well. Coming from Route 11, take the OH-344 exit toward Columbiana/Leetonia and go east, then take a right turn off the quaint little traffic circle. Ryan's will be on your left. It's a bit like being in an early-19th-century Ohio village, which is more or less what Columbiana is anyway. Street parking is free and plentiful, and you can stroll along the sidewalks of the town square sipping your coffee and looking in the various storefront windows. (I'd recommend puffing your cigar, too, but I hear people tend to frown on that these days. Ah, well.)

The selection great. prices very reasonable. And the smoking lounge in the back is excellent. My first time in, the owner was there and he showed me around, showed me some new stock, explained how the members smoking lounge worked. The last time I was in, a younger guy was working. I believe his name was Tegab(sp?). His knowledge was impressive. He helped me put together a sampler pack for a buddy of mine that is just starting to smoke cigars. This is a nice, compact smoke shop. There are cigarettes and the like behind the counter and soft…read moredrinks in the cooler, if that's what you're there for. If you're in search of a nice cigar, the glassed-in (but not locked! Huzzah!) humidor spans the length of the shop. Here you'll find your Fuente, your Punch, your Cohiba, your Romeo y Julieta, but also some lower-priced brands. I have picked up a few gems here on a low budget. There is reasonable size diversity here, although not all brands have the full line available, as seems to be common in tobacco shops--especially those with limited space. In fairness, though, selling cigars is an expensive trade, no thanks to taxes and regulations. Most tobacconists have to be pretty conservative about their overhead in this day and age, and this is a smaller shop. There is coffee available in urns, although I haven't tried it because they only seem to make it on demand (fair enough) and aren't particularly eager to make a whole new one after five, which is when I usually pass by there after work. The gentleman I've seen at the counter every time is cordial, although you'll obviously need to hurry up at the cash register if you have a line of people behind you waiting to buy lottery tickets. After you've paid, though, you're welcome to stick around and smoke, as there are several plastic tables with chairs in the less busy area toward the back of the store. This store is located in the Austintown Plaza on Mahoning Avenue, west of Route 11. Be forewarned that there seems to be one main exit from the whole place (and it's not a small plaza), and since Mahoning Avenue is a busy street it has a long light, so if you are pressed for time you might want to hold off for another day. Additionally, since this shop is part of a strip mall, parking might not supremely easy to find. Do make the trip if you can, though, because the cigars and the overall experience will be well worth your while.

It is still just so shocking to me when someone expands and yet still manages to treat you like family. If you give them a chance, you won't be disappointed.
