Steve came out and did a great job in giving my son a free estimate for a fence around his property. He came on time and did an accurate measurement. He is the cheapest for installing a fence in this area and the lumber he uses is of high quality. Information from the Company: Originated in January 2010 and are a home owned and operated business. Don't employ a dozen fence crews, secretaries or a half dozen sales people. Inventory is kept at only what is needed which in turn means a better price for the customer. Have sold & installed approximately 800 fences & about 50 patio & pool decks in the Northwest Florida area since opening. DO NOT CALL PARADISE FENCING‼‼‼‼ VERY UNPROFESSIONAL‼ I strongly believe in referrals and want others to know how I was treated! After Hurricane Sally, I have been trying to find companies available to give me quotes. Finally was able to reach and speak with Paradise Fencing. After explaining what I needed and why, I was told someone would be glad to meet with me and give me a quote. The owner met me at my sons property in Pensacola, where I was needing a quote on a custom built fence for the insurance. Was up front and honest with him about everything!!! Explained we would need a new fence (not like current fence-the new one would be easier) for that property and I also wanted him to come to my home in Milton and give me a quote, where I am on a third of an acre. At my son's, as the original fence was custom built by the previous owner, I needed 2 quotes. The first quote for the insurance of the cost to replace the fence exactly as it was built. This was needed for verification of correct replacement cost by the insurance, which they were aware was coming. The second quote, was for the actual replacement of a new standard privacy fence. I also asked for recommendations. He said no problem, he would be glad to give me the quotes, and proceeded to gather all the info. Later, he even texted me for my sons name who owns the property, and that the insurance is listed under. I gladly gave it! The next day, I received a text stating he was going to pass on giving me a written estimate. I texted as to why? His response was because my son has someone working on his remodeling. (He was fully aware of this when he came to the house and said he would gladly give a quote). I tried calling, but he would not answer the phone. I followed up with a text and told him, as I had the day before, the guy working on the remodeling of the home is not a fence installer. Just as the roof was needing replaced, I was calling roofing companies because he doesn't install new roofs either. The owner at Paradise would not respond!!! Never gave me a real answer as to why, and then did not accept my phone calls!!! Sent them straight to voicemail. Did not respond to any more of my texts. I was EXTREMELY upset as I'm very stressed at the moment (which I had shared w/ him). I'm trying to juggle tons of things!!! I'm helping my son w/ his new home, I'm running between 2 properties (mine in Milton & my son's in Pensacola), trying to get repairs & quotes on my home (which Paradise was supposed to follow up the following week and give me a cost to replace the fence at my home), I lost my mom last year and am still trying to recover from that (never will) and handle various ongoing issues, now caring for my elderly 83 yo stepdad (who is in process of having doctors appointments and surgeries), and I have VERY LITTLE/NO time to be wasted! I also found it extremely unprofessional that he could not and would not even speak to me over the phone to explain why or what happened! READER BEWARE OF COMPANY! This is a must read.... To potential customers of Paradise Fence: This review is based on service between my parents, the company and the company owner, Steve Peart. I actually posted this review 2 weeks ago but within 24 hours of posting it, Steve had asked my parents to have it removed mid-project because of the nature of the review. The review was intended to show the shady doings of Steve Peart and his company. I advised my parents that we should wait at least until the work was done but they are very kind people, so I removed the post for them. Since then, Steve has, more or less, told my parents to kiss him where the sun doesn't shine. I have pasted the original review below. He has decided he is going to leave the damaged product, mediocre quality work and bail on my parents without taking any form of responsibility. Original review posted 4/28/2017: "I recommended this company to my parents based on Angie's List reviews and several quotes that we received for a brand new fence. My parent's home, along with many other homes in the area, was hit with a tornado that came through early 2016. At that time my dad was also going through cancer treatment so I looked to Angie's List for contractors to come out and start repairs on their home. The tornado wiped the entire fence so it needed to be replaced. In the early stages prior to the beginning of installation, Steve Peart (the company owner) was very communicative, so we assumed we would be receiving good service. Steve advised it would take approximately 2 days to install the fence. It is still not done. Not only is the fence un-leveled, the doors have not yet been installed. Communication, punctuality and quality have been extremely poor since giving Steve the deposit. Steve no longer takes phone calls and will only respond to text messages periodically. I have a strong inclination that Steve and his company are the stereo typical contractors that take advantage of elderly people. Since this has not yet been resolved, immediate contact with either myself or my parents is highly suggested." Since removing the original review, Steve has since decided he is going to leave my parents hanging, mid-project, with damaged, unsatisfactory product, and keep the deposit. For those looking to hire Paradise Fence and Deck, there are hundreds of contractors out there. Save your money, heart ache and sweat and find yourself another company that has some integrity and will at the very least, take responsibility for their own actions. They did an amazing job on our fence!!! Got an estimate and they told us what we needed to do to get the yard ready, little things like trim some tree branches and we had a massive pile of dirt that we needed to spread out which we knew we would have to do! Once that was done they were out here the following Monday morning and done by Wednesday afternoon!!! Really nice and friendly guys and one of the cheaper options we found! plus they offer financing! impressed! read more

I had my fence installed in 2013 and was extremely happy with the quality of the work. He even came out a few months later and adjusted the gates to counter settling. In 2015 I had him extend my fence, add a double gate and build a 20×30 deck on the back of my house. He asked for half up front and I paid the rest on completion. The work was superb and he and his crew were extremely polite to my wife as I wasn't able to be home for the install. Furthermore, Steve does lots of little things to increase the longevity of your fence, for example not installing the top horizontal support too far from the top of the fence slat. This helps prevent the fence from bowing. I highly recomend Steve and his crew! read more
