Very nice restaurant with a clean and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere in a great location. My friend and I stopped in for a quick dinner after sightseeing in Taupo. We ordered a teriyaki chicken udon, a teriyaki chicken fried rice, and some crispy chicken rolls to share. Everything we ordered was SO good...and the quality of the food is outstanding. They exceeded all of our expectations. Service was very good and the staff was attentive to our needs. I would recommend that if you are in the area and craving Japanese food, stop in. We visited this restaurant when I was in Taupo last year. It was annoying finding a parking spot around the restaurant but....we ordered the seafood udon and bento box and they were amazing! We also enjoyed the friendly owners who were telling us where to visit and some local tips. I will go back there when I get a chance to visit Taupo again. read more

Great sushi place in Taupo. The menu has lots of options. Delicious food and Fresh. I've tried several of their rolls and they are all good. My favorite are dynamite roll and crunch roll. Can't wait to go back. read more

My wife and I visited Taupo and stopped by at Sushi Paradise for dinner. There were many options to choose. We could either pick up some pre-made sushi or order special dish. We ordered Crispy Chicken Roll, Kiwi Legend Roll with Edamame and Spicy Ramen. The place was crowded with people so the food came out in 20 minutes, however it was worth waiting! Spicy Ramen was amazing and the rolls tasted really fresh. We enjoyed the food and appreciated superb customer service, the owner and staff were very kind and welcoming. We ended up going there for lunch next day, and again we enjoyed our food (We had Teriyaki Salmon Bento and Katsu Curry). I strongly recommend this place. Thanks for the great meal! read more

Do not leave Taupo without trying the Crunch Roll! Hands down the best sushi in Taupo and it's right by the lakefront

Driving up from Wellington to Rotorua we were craving sushi so we decided to check out Paradise Sushi. It was empty so I questioned whether it'd be good or not. But it was surprisingly tasty. We got the Teriyaki Chicken Udon, the Beef Bento Box and the Eel Roll. It seemed pricey (especially the Eel Roll) but we liked it! It really it the spot. The Beef in the bento box was probably my favourite from our orders. It tasted like Korean Beef Bulgogi to us. It wasn't the best sushi I've ever had but it was decent. Service could have been a bit better. They didn't think to even give us the saucers for the soy sauce for our sushi. But other than that it was good. read more

Made the unfortunate decision to stop for lunch at Paradise Sushi. We should have taken the hint provided by the completely empty dining areas, but our craving was for sushi, so sushi it would be. Or so we had hoped. Visitors have the opportunity to select from two different preparations: (1) the pre-made food cases are self service, (2) prepared to order rolls and bento boxes. We tried a mix of both. Pre-Made Self Service - The most unpleasant sushi bites we have ever eaten. While they didn't smell terrible, the flavor of the fish was just that...terribly fishy. We took one bite and didn't bother with the rest. Additionally, our gyoza was rubbery and crunchy around the edges. Again, we didn't bother finishing. Made To Order - We ordered two rolls, both featuring different types of fish and sauces both inside and out. Happy to say the flavor was decent (not really fishy), but the rolls were rather sloppy, and one was excessively covered in a sweet/spicy sauce. We did finish these rolls, but the experience was was certainly not one of precision and freshness. read more

I know 2 minute noodles when I taste them. We ordered the ramen which looked and tasted suspiciously like maggi 2 minute noddles with a bit of spice added to the broth. We also ordered a sushi roll which was actually pretty good. The man who served us was also really nice read more

Recently had Crispy Chicken Roll and ,Tempura Udon. A night light meal for two people--all really delicious, nicely presented. The owner discussed with us how they tried to stay true to real Japanese sushi. Nice serving staff, and pleasant to eat outside as well - highly recommended. read more
