This is really awesome for this end of town as there is not another bottleo that offers this big of a range. Next stop for crafties would be closer to town. Correct me if I am wrong! What I like about it besides being Aussie owned, is the name is so apt and the logo is very outback ocker displaying a camel and I think their prices are not too bad. They also run several competitions and offer a discount card where points can be earned towards a reduction on normal prices. Once you drive in there are lanes for express and browsing, as there's nothing worse than being stuck behind a dawdler especially when you're late for a party and all you want is a slab and get the hell out of there! Thirsty Camels have sprung up everywhere and there are many locations throughout South Australia, so have a look in the White Pages or go online to find where they are and support an Australian owned business. Yep, that's right you can get your growler sterilised and filled to the brim of a beer you won't normally be able to get by the bottle. You heard me! A range of boutique, small batch SA wine makers and some interesting bottles from overseas are also available. They also have my favourite KIS Gin in stock. All in all this is the melting pot for high end, premium and rare alcoholic finds.

Boasting an excellent array of wines, beers, ciders and a decent spirit selection, Goodwood cellars has the who's-who of wine in South Australia with the heavy hitters and small wineries and brewers on feature. I'm more of a wine drinker myself so my knowledge of the beer selection and ability to comment on it is somewhat redundant (but other reviewers rave, so go read there opinions!). Small wineries that had previously given me the impression of only having a cellar door for sales are prone to appearing for a limited run in store, but I enjoy this as it lets me vary up my local wine knowledge. Prices are very reasonable with monthly specials in all the major categories letting you explore the finer side of the palate without breaking the budget and favourites staying at a consistent price. The best part of this bottle shop has to be the service. The team here definitely know what they're talking about and are always willing to help. Looking for something for yourself? Tell them your preferences and they'll hunt it down (white, crisp, riesling, not sweet, about $20). Looking for a present? They'll find something to suit and impress and will keep your budget in mind (without making you feel like a cheapskate!). And if you have something specific in mind, they'll take you straight to it, saving you from wandering direction-less in those overly large bottle stores popular of late. On one recent trip the store manager introduced himself and told me that they're happy to source anything they may not already stock AND they're happy to price match. Pretty good offer I think! As well as all the usual specials, I like the fact they have a great wine selection with regular tastings. They also deliver to your home if you live within a 10 km radius of the store - very handy if you're having a party. So whenever my parents or whoever ask me to pick up a nice red wine or beer "because we're entertaining" or "because so and so are coming for dinner tonight", I, without fail, will have to ask for assistance. Luckily, the staff here are very warm and cheerful and have helped me on multiple occasions to get the right drinks for everyone. Walking in, the place is quite big but easy to navigate around, and, if you're as petite as me, you too will be thanking your lucky stars they have trolleys as well as baskets.
