I had an absolute blast learning to ski with Parallel skiing. Their unique method of starting people off on short skis and slowly progressing to longer/fullsized-ones through the course is fantastic to gain the skills and confidence needed to ski comfortably. They have a large group of super friendly and helpful instructors that cater to your individual needs (even though it's technically not a private lesson), moving you up/groups to find the right cues and pace of learning that you're comfortable with. The course also takes care of your transport to/from Munich, a weekend stay, ski rentals, and lift passes at an incredibly reasonable price, especially compared to other ski schools in the area. I can't imagine there are many other schools that can consistently take someone from having never touched a ski to doing a black run within 6 days, but they do it!! So look no further if you'd like to learn to ski and sign up for an InfoEve session (likely featuring the Beach Boys, iykyk) for more details read more

If you live in Munich and want to learn to ski, you won't find a better option than with Parallel Skiing. The instruction and set up of the course cannot be faulted, the teaching techniques and instructors are fantastic. The value of the course is incredible, but above all the passion and community within Parallel Skiing is wonderful. read more

The quickest way to learn how to ski. Especially as an adult living in Munich. A great group of very caring instructors and lots of fun other learners make this course so much fun. Spending time in the Austrian Alps rounds out the experience. The course is affordable, provides all the equipment you need and is worth the time if you want to learn to ski over three weekends! read more

My friend from Brazil recommended the course to me. She had done it 9 years ago and had learned pretty quick how to ski. I had snowboard before, but I wasn't getting better at it and as my boyfriend skies very well, I couldn't keep up. So I decided to give it a try and it was amazing! The course it pretty intense. I did two weekends in a row and the last one a bit later. For me it was better with a bit of a break in between, but if you do the course fast and early in the season, you can go more often skiing after the course. I only managed this past weekend, so a year later, to ski again, but it was great. I remembered all of the moves and amazing how the slopes feel so much easier now. What I love about this course is that the teacher are in it because they love it. They organize (great job Ken) and take such good care of you, that I felt I was getting a privat class even being in a group. What I recommend use this advantage. Ask questions and if you feel you aren't ready for something talk to them. I feel I need more time to get into the black ones, but I did manage to go down one on the third weekend. But this is due to my fear of speed and I'm happy on the reds and blues. The prices are great as it is such an intense course and again they organize everything, so you just go with the flow, meet great people, party and have yummy meals while learning a new skill! read more

Parallel Skiing is absolutely amazing. Not only I managed to ski down a black slope after three weekends (which is a crazy feat as an adult that never skied before); but the social environment on the course is unique. I meet really great people who I see frequently after the course and with whom I go skiing now. It was especially helpful for me that Ken recorded us skiing, seeing myself on camera helped quite a lot to correct a lot of mistakes. Also, all the instructors are great, so helpful and encouraging! Thank you so much for the wonderful experience! read more

Amazing school! I had lot's of fun learning skiing there. The method is really effective: after 3 weekends of learning I felt really confident on red slopes and dared to ski the black slope at the end of the course! The whole weekend atmosphere is wonderful, I had lot's of fun in the evenings chatting and dancing with other students, I met friends with whom I still keep in touch and go skiing. The instructors are very patient and humorous. The handsome Paul is my favorite... read more

History
Established in 2001.
While hitchhiking in Germany I was set out close to the North-Bavarian village of Bischofsgrün. There I noticed skiers on a ski slope close to the main road. I had always wanted to learn to ski so I walked into the village to inquire about a ski school. This event changed my life. Martin Puchtler, the ski school director of the Skischule Nordbayern, explained the benefits of his Ansteigende Skilängen (in English: graduated length method) to me. Short skis and direct parallel. What a brilliant idea, I returned to Bischofsgrün for a proper ski course. Martin Puchler's Ansteigenden Skilängen made learning to ski so easy that within a week I could ski the whole mountain with parallel turns. I was hooked. When I was taking an advanced ski course the next season, Martin Puchtler suggested that I try my hand at ski teaching. I began training at the Skischule Nordbayern. Later I founded the ski club Parallel Skiing e. V.

As someone who's skied their fair share of life's ups and downs, you could say I've always been an unofficial tough nut on the slopes. You know, the ambitious amateur type with a knack for taking calculated risks. I've learned the hard way, through trial and error, falling down and picking myself back up, and then hitting the slopes even harder. But let me tell you, this old-school approach to learning how to ski? Well, it's not something I'd necessarily recommend to others. Especially not since I stumbled upon Parallel Skiing ski lessons and their amazing technique. Now based in Munich, I've had the pleasure of discovering this game-changing skiing method that can turn even the most uncoordinated skier into a snow-slicing pro in no time. These courses are like nothing I've ever experienced before. They're meticulously organised, covering every detail imaginable - from equipment (they've got you covered if you don't have your own gear) to accommodations and access to top-notch instructors. And let me tell you, these instructors? They're the real deal. But what truly sets these courses apart is their popularity. They're in high demand, and for good reason. With a success rate that's off the charts, it's no wonder people are clamoring to sign up. Whether you're a complete newbie or someone like me who just needed a little extra guidance, these courses will transform the way you ski. So yeah, consider me a forever fan. Thanks a million, Ken and the Team, for revolutionising my skiing game! read more

I participated in this season's parallel skiing course from Munich and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The skiing itself was extremely professional and well structured, and for the first time I truly felt confident on steeper slopes that had always been a challenge for me. The instructors created a safe and encouraging environment, which made a huge difference in my technique and mindset. What made the course even more special was that it felt like much more than just training. Traveling together as a group from Munich on Friday evening, spending two nights in hotels, and returning together on Sunday created a real sense of community. We learned, ate, and laughed together, reviewed videos of our runs, and listened to detailed instructor feedback in the evenings--often in a relaxed pub atmosphere. It was the perfect combination of high-quality learning, genuine enjoyment, and a short vacation. Beyond improving my skiing, I came back with great memories, new friends, and a feeling of belonging to a lasting community. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their skiing while enjoying the full experience around it. read more

A great way to learn to ski in the Munich area. This ski school is perfect for people that always wanted to learn to ski but assumed that they wouldn't be able. Using the short ski method (Kurzschimethode) unlocks a much easier way to learn, and this school adds lots of fun and confidence building exercises into the mix. With this method you build initial skills on very short skis and learn to ski parallel from the start, and gradually increase the length of skis and difficulty of terrain over six days. Most people leave the course on full length skis and are able to ski most of the mountain. I personally struggled with the traditional ski method and was only able to unlock the ability to ski thanks to Parallel Skiing! Wholeheartedly recommend them ... read more

I have joined Parallel Skiing for their advanced skiers weekend and I can definitely warmly recommend the school. Despite I skied for more than 10 years, I have learned so many new tricks that it really changed my way of approaching some situations (bumps and very steep slopes especially). On top of that, the atmosphere is what makes it truly unique: Parallel skiing is a community more than a ski school, where you have the chance to spend 48h on and off the slopes with a huge group of fun people and highly motivated instructors. It is like nothing I have ever tried before and I wished I knew of their existence when I started skiing 10 years ago! read more

If you're an adult who has never skied before, stop overthinking it and just sign up. Trust me, you will not regret it. Intense but rewarding weekends. A course that actually promises progress. The best instructors. Absolute angels. A full package - stay, commute, training, equipment. So glad this was my introduction to skiing!! To Lee, Roy, Ben, Steve, Kirsten, Bobby and Yuan - your patience and kindness made it all worth it. And thank you Ken for making the short ski method accessible to adults. read more

I have tried skiing on and off for 8 years however I didnt know the techniques. I joined 2nd & 3rd weekends, this was the best decision. Finally now I confidently ski red slopes and able to try blacks:) Great community, very well organized. Can not thank enough to Ken & instructors. Add parallel ski email to your contacts list, and show up at InfoEve! If you consider learning how to ski or looking for ways to improve, definitely this is the place! read more

Fantastic ski club here in Munich! They make sure everyone learns to ski, lots of fun activities on short skis - we're able to make parallel turns right from the beginning! Within three weekends, we ended up on long skis, being able to tackle black slopes. It's also a great community, very international and very friendly. Made lots of new friends there. Highly recommended. read more

The trainers were very professional yet friendly and pleasant. After week two, i went on a ski holiday with some friends who are all advanced skiers and was able to keep up with them on the slopes pretty comfortably. The training was undoubtably a very good value for money training. read more
