For a place called "architectural salvage," this biz has a much larger "antique store" element than I had expected. Virtually the entire sizable first floor is dedicated to a selection of antiques that I found to be incredibly interesting! I wouldn't be able to even scratch the surface of telling you the types of items, but I'd say that the collection lends itself to items that were originally meant to be functional, rather than decorative. Their collection of antique binoculars and telescopes was fascinating, as were their scales. I also really enjoyed rummaging through their apothecary bottles, a personal favorite of mine. Of course, this IS an architectural salvage, so you're also treated to massive stained glass windows, service counters carefully removed from turn-of-the-century businesses, entire displays of doorknobs and hinges and light fixtures. If you were looking for period-appropriate parts for your home, I trust they'd have it. While the prices are high enough I wouldn't say you'd get anything at a steal, the selection is incredibly impressive. Maybe it's still somewhat of a secret and hasn't yet been picked over? Whatever it is, if you're into this type of business, you'll be happy!

While I was walking by, a private security dog started barking and snarling, and the next thing I know, a private security officer is asking me whether I was carrying any firearms or explosives. (Where exactly I was supposed to have secreted such items while wearing a pair of jeans and a T-shirt, I do not know.) So, first of all, the mall's security dog is flagging visitors for carrying hazardous materials EVEN WHEN THEY ARE NOT. The security system is unreliable. And second, the security dog does not merely make a signal in these circumstances. This dog -- an enormous German Shepherd -- began barking loudly, leaping in the air, and charging at the end of its leash. It was TERRIFYING -- and the dog did this to me twice. All I can say is that I'm thankful I don't have a weak heart. It took a long time to stop shaking. I called the mall manager's office several times, but there was never an answer. No one is keeping watch there, and meanwhile there is a dog terrifying and harassing mall visitors. THIS MALL EMPLOYS A MAN WITH A DOG THAT TERRIFIES PASSERSBY AT RANDOM. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

This place is really big! There is something for everyone at this location. My biggest complaint is that there is no real flow to the store. We had to be sure to back track to make sure that we saw every booth. The prices are a little high, but there are some great finds in the store. If you are going to go, get there early. The place is very popular, so it gets busy quickly. read more

You can tell by how she speaks to her staff and then how she speaks to customers that she is as fake as a three dollar bill. On one other occasion, I watched as the owner again displayed bigoted behavior towards a transsexual couple looking to decorate their home. She was unkind to them, telling them that her store wouldn't have what they were looking for. At one point she asked one of her staff members to "get them out of the store." I will never step foot in this building as long as Annette is running things. Bad business owner!

I went here with a group of people who all have quite varying styles, and we all ended up finding stuff we liked. I bought a vintage crate that will fit perfectly on the back of my husband's bike, while he bought some great glass Christmas ornaments. The parents bought some candles and some other decorative bric-a-brac. There's a large upstairs space that you shouldn't miss, as it includes a lot of furniture! The staff is friendly and helpful, and easily accessible. There were a TON of people helping out on the day we were there, which I appreciate. And while they were quite enthusiastic and informative, they certainly weren't pushy, which I appreciate even more. I can't guarantee that I'll be back, as their extremely limited hours just might not jive with my travel plans, but if I find out it's open, I'll be sure to go back.
