Loved loved LOVED the people who handled the boat ride and the parasailing. Very funny guys, but forgot their names. We went on April 9th. They were super helpful and nice with pictures and videos of us, and kept us laughing the whole boat ride to make us less nervous. Felt very safe with them.

I would 100% recommend this place. We went in with open minds despite of the weather being gloomy. Our ride was set at 1:45 and the sky cleared up the weather was so beautiful not so extremely hot just perfect. The two gentlemen in the boat were very informative since entering the boat. They gave us specific instructions and through in a few jokes to easy the fear. Up in the air 800 ft with clear skies and a perfect view of the island. Coming down back from ride we got to experience a quick dip of the oven enough to get our feet well. Though it would be more of a scary ride but turn out to very blissful. I can't thank them enough for the experience.

We did a seal watching tour with them. Our granddaughters, 10yrs and 8yrs old loved it. So excited to see the Sea Lions and we also saw a harbor seal. Our Captain and his crew member were very friendly and knowledgeable about the Island and the sea life. Check them out if you have a chance to do an excursion from your cruise ship when stopping at Catalina Island. Highly recommend.

Jack and David were the best! They were funny and made the whole experience better for everybody. My family had a really good time for the first time parasailing. We couldn't have asked for better!!

My boyfriend and I had so much fun! If you're hesitating just go for it! The ride is smooth and not scary at all. It's about a ten min flying time but so worth it! I do wish we got better pictures since they are pricey. We probably only got about three decent pictures.

Booked this as an excursion on our cruise, it was a bit gloomy out, but we had a great time! The two guys on the boat were super nice and fully of cheesy jokes. Highly Recommend! Would definitely go again!!!

Catalina Island truly has my heart, and this parasailing experience was unforgettable. As someone who loves adventure, being up in the air brought so much excitement and joy. The views were peaceful and stunning, and seeing the island from above was such a special experience. A quick tip, wear shorts. I wasn't fully prepared and you do get dipped into the water, but it honestly added to the fun. The staff was amazing and made everything feel easy and comfortable. This was such a beautiful and memorable experience, and I would highly recommend trying it if you visit Catalina. read more

We went on the Sea Lion Tour with Zane and Jack. Our tour got delayed because of the heavy fog which we appreciate. On the tour itself, Jack made sure we saw a whale and a pod of dolphins, as well as the spot with all the sea lions. It was a great time and I would be happy to do it again. read more

Cancelled my reservation without any explanation, when I called the number the guy who picked up the phone seemed clueless and had a hard time comprehending the word "cancelled". It's probably for the best, I wouldn't trust these folks to lift me up 8 ft let alone 800". They are highly incompetent and I encourage no one purchases a ride with them even if it's free. read more

cancelled our experience with NO email or text. i went and there was no one there? i called and he said " when did you book, emails were sent saying it was cancelled due to windy weather " i asked for a refund, he said the card wasn't charged but we booked through groupon, refunds were too late. not the issue here, the issue is that there was no cancellation email sent! read more

What an incredible experience oh my Lordy. Made the decision to purchase the Groupon after I got my wicki whacked at Luau Larry's-highly recommend if you aren't with your girlfriend. Butterflies were impregnating my stomach prior but I had a little mamma Mia playing while we were floating 800ft up in the clouds and those Swedish ladies got me through it as they did with many moments in my life. Not to mention Jack and David were a more well oiled machine than the cast of Cars. Thanks guys! read more

We had the most amazing breathtaking experience parasailing with this company today, the expert captain Simon and His assistant. Johnny made our time with family so memorable. We parasail up 800 feet we paid for the photo package so we captured it all, and they even found a pot of dolphins which we got to look down upon while we were sailing. It was a smooth, awesome ride. Everything was clean and safe. Maddie at the Front was awesome and took care of our bags while we went on our excursion. Highly recommend and we will be back. read more

Horrible experience! My son was hesitant to go On so they skipped his turn then he decided he wanted to go on after he saw a couple people try it but they didn't let him even after we paid them in full. It is rushed experience with no communication. Not a good company for children read more

We booked this parasailing activity when we were in Catalina as part of a Carnival cruise. It was the first time parasailing for my 3 nieces and they all LOVED IT! Definitely the right amount of thrill without being too scary ;). The guides were also great, played fun music that entertained everyone in the boat, and made us laugh . Highly recommend! read more

Such a great experience here! We came to Catalina for my husbands birthday weekend and heard about a birthday BOGO here so we went to see if it was true....while a lot of the things "free birthday" items I saw on TikTok turned out not to be accurate, this one was! We had a 2pm reservation on the day we got there but since we weren't checked into our hotel yet, they allowed us to change it pretty last minute which was so accommodating! Omg! Such a fun time! My friend and I decided to go parasailing on Catalina Island and I'm so glad we did. We had a great time and our two boat attendants (I forgot their names :() were amazing. They knew how to keep the atmosphere funny and lighthearted, even if some people were scared (ME!). Also, they knew exactly what they were doing. My friend and I went on the boat with two other pairs of people. Each group was in the air for a decent amount of time, the view was spectacular. No amount of pictures can do it justice. We each paid about $70 give or take. You are allowed to bring your phone in the air with you, but if you do it's obviously at your own risk. I would say the best part of the ride is when the parachute is lowered so you can dip your feet in the water! Amazing experience, if you are visiting this beautiful island I highly highly recommend this excursion. You will not leave disappointed. read more

Have to begin with Erin upon check in. She was amazing and so kind making it quick for us. This was my first time parasailing with my kids. Was so scared for them, but they loved it! The guys in the morning were awesome! They were so friendly and fun! Not only that, they helped me with my son who was scared managed to calm him down. Love the reggae music played on the boat. As we soar into the sky, dolphins were swimming in the ocean. It was just beautiful to see over Catalina Island. Great experience and would book again! read more

It's about $65 per person. I suggest you book ahead. I've parasailed a few times with this company and it gets pretty busy. Although, there was a person who was in line that was booking spontaneously. Have Fun!!

We even got to see them up close, which was incredible. As for the ride itself, I didn't find it nearly as bumpy as people make it sound. There were a few spots where the height felt a little sketchy, but in a "whoa" way, not a "nope, I regret everything" way. All in all, I'd absolutely recommend this tour. The boat had an enclosed bench-seating area with all seats facing the center of the boat, which was made of glass and several feet below where we all sat. I was amazed by how clear the water was-even right next to shore. As we moved, our guide shared some local history and information about the marine life below us. We paused at several fish sanctuary locations, and the guide threw fish food into the water to attract more fish than we could count. The tour, which lasted an hour, was a delight for the whole family. All of the kids and kids at heart were thrilled by the many types of fish we saw. We were even fortunate enough to see a diving cormorant! The waves were not too bad on the day I went...even though my stomach usually gets queasy on smaller boats, this one didn't bother me. Maybe I was too entranced by the fish to notice. If I ever visit Catalina again and have time to do it, I'll be more than happy to go on this tour again. It was just long enough, and you never know what you'll see down there! Note--there is a public restroom at the beginning of the pier, but much of it was out of order, leading to some pretty long lines. Make sure you go before you get on the boat-no restrooms on board.

On a one day visit to Catalina Island, there is so much to do, see and eat…read more To start, rent a golf cart or wear good walking shoes because this port is not too big for tourist exploration. There is also a "Circuit" ride share that will take you around the island for $2 per person. Coming in by tender from a cruise ship is great. The docking area is in town and so close to everything. I exited the tender and walked along the waterfront where I passed a few children's playgrounds with a pirate theme. Then on to where the golf carts are rented. I walked to the pier (Green Pier) where there are bathrooms and many small shops all hoping for the tourist business. They carry the typical port souvenirs. After a long walk on this short pier I got to the end where there is many people fishing with poles and the little set ups they will sell you for a few dollars and the bait too. There are plenty of benches to sit and watch the boat come in and out of the harbour. There is a small beach area that has lots of pretty colored little rocks along the shoreline. The walk to the round Casino Building is pretty much the end of the road before a mountainside resort. I passed by some waterfront restaurants that were even crowded on a cloudy day. My walk back to the tender was quick and the ride back to the cruise ship was also pretty nice and calm.

Keep in mind that it takes 20 years to be able to buy a real car on island. Only one golf cart is allowed per residence. There are no spaces for real cars and more golf carts in Avalon. Our family and friends live here so they have a real car to take us to interiors. Yes you will need a real car to do that! Avalon has enough restaurants and bars to hang out. Casino is also a movie theater to show older movies on certain weekend evenings. They offer tours of this historic casino too. They host NYE gala every year. Beach club is great for summer times. Museum is small but still worth taking a tour. Too bad the spa has closed down, we used to go there all the time. This island has so much to offer. It's the best place for a lot of fun just a ferry ride away!

Review for Disappointing Experience with Parasail Catalina: July 15, 4:30pm I am giving Parasail Catalina 1 star, not because of the company, but due to a particular staff member who marred our experience. Let me begin by acknowledging that the company's other employees were amazing and very helpful throughout our visit. This review primarily focuses on our interaction with one person, who made our time unpleasant. We were a group of friends, including my first-timer friend and two children aged 8 and 9, all eager to try parasailing for the first time. As we waited for our boat to arrive, I, being the one who booked the experience, was keeping an eye out for it. Strangely, there was an announcement saying, "This is the last call for 4:30 parasailing," which confused me since the boat had just arrived. However, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and quickly gathered my group to board. Upon reaching the boat, there was no greeting or warm welcome, but we brushed it off, thinking it must have been a busy day for them. We were excitedly chatting about our upcoming adventure when suddenly, a crew member singled me out and asked us to leave, accusing us of being disrespectful. This came as a shock to us, as we had experienced parasailing with the same company before, and it had been an enjoyable time. But the surprising part was that this crew member continued to be rude and disrespectful, not just once, but more than three times, even when I chose not to respond to him. Despite this unpleasant encounter, I decided not to engage in an argument, understanding that it could ruin the day for everyone. Instead, I chose to ignore the rude crew member and make the best of our time. However, I feel the need to express my disappointment in this person's lack of basic etiquette, especially in a customer-facing role like this. If they are unable to treat customers with respect and courtesy, perhaps they should consider a different line of work. My biggest concern was that the encounter made my 8 and 9-year-old children quite scared, affecting their ability to fully enjoy the experience. They were whispering their excitement to each other, worried about the situation. If there were an option to rate below one star, I would have chosen it for the experience with this specific crew member. I strongly advise against booking with this individual if you plan to parasail with Parasail Catalina on Catalina Island. I am attaching a picture of the person for reference. Overall, the experience with Parasail Catalina would have been much better if it weren't for this one staff member. I hope the company addresses such issues, ensuring that all their customers have a pleasant and respectful experience. read more

Nightmare Experience with California Parasail - Avoid at All Costs! I recently had the misfortune of booking a parasailing adventure with California Parasail. It was an absolute disaster from start to finish. I cannot stress enough how disappointed I am, and I implore everyone to steer clear of this company. I got a E-certificate as a birthday present from my wife. I made a reservation through their web site. I've arrived 30 min prior to the flight time to check in and realized that the facility is closed and no one is inside. I waited for another 20 min, no one showed up and then I got a text message that my reservation is canceled without any explanation. I called to ask what has happened but no one picked up the phone. I decided to give it another try. This time my wife decided to go with me on the boat. I went ahead and made another reservation for two people (one is flying and another is on the boat). We arrived 30 min in advance in order to check in early. We were told that the reservation is going to be canceled because no one else made a reservation for the same time slot. The guy was referring to the following FAQ bullet from their web-site and kept saying that's nothing he can do about and it has to be 2 people for the reservation. Can I go up with someone else? Yes, we offer tandem and triple flights(2 or 3 people in the same chute). All multi-passenger flights are side by side offering great views and comfortable flights. If the combined weight is over 500 lbs. then it's up to the captain to make the call. His decision is based on weather conditions. It is ambiguous that I can't fly by myself. I talked to the manager over the phone, his communication style wasn't professional. But he said that he will check with the captain of the boat and try to manage this situation. After another 15 min of waiting he did call back and said that I will not fly today and just dropped the call. We asked for a refund because of inability to use certificate twice and our request was declined. So we lost our time, our money and were treated unfairly. Now ask yourself about how unprofessional the staff are and apply this for safety, this company's operations are a disaster. Avoid California Parasail! read more

The experience was awesome! If you are looking for some adventure but not quite ready to bungee jump or skydive, it would probably be this. Hey, if 40lb kids can do it, so can I! Ha! I said I'll return after my first skydive but somehow I couldn't bring myself to call for a schedule. Parasailing though, I can see myself doing again... and again. It must be the serenity that overtakes after I screamed my tonsils out during take off. Once up in the air, I practically started stretching and doing meditation poses (pictures to follow). To begin with, i love the beach and the cool breeze in the summer. So that plus being 800ft in the air with a giant smiley face over me felt like magic. For a small fee, you can capture this magic 100+ times -- like individual frames of a moving scene. There'd be plenty of photo ops and a good chance to actually look good in one of them (obviously compared to skydiving where you're not even sure you have a face during free fall). You get pics after being prepped, during take off, landing, randomly while up in the air, and during the optional dip. You must do the dip!!!! I felt safe in the hands of the staff (even though we almost forgot to wear our life jackets!); they seem to know what they're doing. The boat left and return promptly and everyone had a great time. We went last but I didn't feel bored at any time during the 1.5hr boat ride. Bring cash with you; tips are appreciated and well-deserved. read more

Up, up, and away! My son has been dreaming of going parasailing since he turned 5, and after much anticipation, we finally made it happen with Parasail Catalina! Finding the right time and vendor was a bit of a challenge, but I'm so glad I did my research and chose them. What initially drew me to Parasail Catalina were the fantastic promotional deals available on their website and Groupon. They offered such great value that it felt like the perfect opportunity to take the plunge! From the moment we stepped onto the boat, the crew made us feel at ease. Their reassuring words helped calm our nerves as we prepared for our adventure. Once we were up in the air, it was smooth sailing all the way! The breathtaking views of the coastline were absolutely worth the excitement! I opted to pay an extra $40 for the photo package, and it was a great decision! The high-quality images captured our experience beautifully. Just a heads up though: while the shots from the air are stunning, you might not see our faces clearly. It's something to consider if you're thinking about adding this option to your adventure. I am new to writing reviews, but Parasail Catalina definitely deserves one. It was my girlfriends and my first time parasailing and I picked Parasail Catalina because they are the most experienced on Catalina. Their reputation definitely precedes them. First off, Chris and Adam are amazing! They make you feel comfortable and help you have a good time. The music they played fit the scene just right. The weather was overcast in the beginning. But my girlfriend and I sat in the right spot on the boat because when it was our turn the sun popped out lol... we sure got lucky! We went with the 800' flight and we loved it. The scenery was beautiful and it was so peaceful. We bought the picture package, it was worth it because we got some great pics! We had the option to have our feet dipped in the water, and naturally we went with it because c'mon who goes parasailing and doesn't get the dip?! Lol Chris did a great job and only got our feet wet(not our entire lower body) haha. Aside from the picture package, I brought my own waterproof camera and took tons of pictures while we were in the air. The experience was definitely amazing. I would totally recommend Parasail Catalina to anyone who wants to have a good time. I will be coming back again! read more

I had a great experience working with this company Grace made it so easy on us. We were a total of 37 undecided people. I called few months ahead to make reservations, after I called at least four more times to make few changes.She was just as pleasant as on phone when I arrived at their office. She reserved three different times just for us. We did two groups of 15 and one with 7. She took care of us from beginning to the end. The two guys on the boat ( which I can't remember their names) did a great job! We had kids from 6 years old to 17; The guys were patient and made things easy.We got the safety introduction about the parasailing from the guys. I was positive that we would enjoy it. The tide was good, the parachute was big so that was a good sign. The view from up there was breathtaking. We saw few sea lions on our way out.We got the photos package and .at the end of our parasailing they gave us the memory cards with all the photos.It was an amazing and most peaceful experience! Me and my husband were very excited to go parasailing. I made a reservation over the phone a week before we came to the island. The young lady was nice and had a good costumer service. She even recommended a very good hotel that we ended up staying. Unfortunately, when the day came they were not able to take us. They called and left few voicemails explaining why they could not take us that day. I guess their boat had to go over to the mainland to do maintenance. On the message they mention about honoring our winter discount if we wanted to reschedule for another time. We never got charge for our reservation so we did not have to worry the whole refund thing. I will definitely came back with my family this summer and go up on a parasail with them. There's another company in the island and we tried to call and see if they were able to take us, but the girl was beyond rude, I guess there was a cruise ship in the island and she was too busy to talk and give some information. I dont know what some of these people are talking about, but I used my yelp deal and everything worked out smoothly for me. Laid back atmosphere which I just cant get enough of. I loved the the customer service, the woman there was very respectful and sweet and explained all my concerns and fears to me about the parasailing. When I got on the boat is was sooo nice, and once when I got in to the air I was left with words unspoken. One of the most amazing things I have experienced leaving me speachless. I saw dolphins and seals, EVEN BABY ONES!!! Im not gonna spoil what its like up there though you have to do it to know! The guys on the boat were amazing too. They made me feel at home and when I got off the boat I had smile wrinkles on my face. I left them a tip and after that I went back to the lady at the booth and told her how much fun I had and that I really appreciate her letting me know I had to nothing to fear. DO NOT BOOK IN ADVANCE WITH THIS COMPANY... My husband and I had our day planned out we made a reservation online a couple weeks in advance to go parasailing at 3:00 on a Saturday. We show up at 2:30 and they tell us that they are working on the boat and that they can not take us out because it will not be fixed until around 5:00 ok that's fine.. then they tell me they are booked for the rest of the day. Needless to say they ruined our whole trip. If I was you I would book with a company with a better reputation a friend of mine who lives on the island who I didn't not talk to till after the incident said this happens all the time threw this company. I also wish I would have read these reviews becuase I seemany people have had reservation problems. Not only could they not make room for someone who had come all the way there just to go parasailing they don't have another boat? Don't take you chances.... read more

I came here with few family members. The staff was courteous enough to bring to our attention that there was a special $50 per person for the 800ft. They were all very helpful explaining the process and they have Tv's with videos showing how they do it. The two gentlemen on the boat were polite and they made sure we felt safe at all times. Parasailing was amazing, so relaxing and really fun! They have good music going on, which puts us on the island move. You can do the optional dip in the water, which I recommend. We opt to have our feet dipped in the water at the end of our parasail. We had a blast! The water wasn't as cold as I imagined. We purchase the photo package and they were able to capture our entire group in one sd card. I highly recommend parasailing in Catalina and Parasail Catalina made the experience worth coming back once more for sure. read more

Crew has almost twenty years experience! I know for a fact the other company has only been open two, if I had to choose an pilot for a flight on a plane I would choose the experience every time. I read all the bad reviews and the customer service was great. Living and working on a small island has it's set backs from experience so no ones perfect. I have gone parsailing several times and I would trust these guys ten out of ten times!!! I went to the other Parasail company and they bad mouthed them horribly tried to tell me they were "not safe a ambulance was called....". Come to find out an epileptic had a seizure. This company has taken blind, deaf, mentally disabled, ppl missing arms and legs etc. For twenty five years never an accident. If you have to lie to take customers the truth will set you free. The other reviews sum it up just fine. This was a fantastic experience, plenty of bang for your buck and a fun way to spend a couple hours. The crew was excellent, the boat pristine, and the chute was a comfortable enjoyable ride. I had never been para sailing before and it was certainly a great experience and something I will definitely be doing again! Also, we did the photo package which was reasonably priced. They give you the SD card straight out of the camera. We had about 91 photos taken and half of those turned out okay. I feel this is a good ratio as the photographer is the ships mate who is also preparing the next group to ride. Well worth the extra cash to get some really high res photos that someone other participant just sitting on the boat won't be able to pull off from their vantage point. read more

Me and my husband went parasailing September 26th 2022 things was going good asked for the picture package we gave them 40.00 cash and a 10.00 tip. Received the pictures, but the pictures highline several other couples, we was just in the background. I have emailed and spoke with an representative asking for our pictures or give me my money back, even carnival cruise guest services emailed and called several times as well and no responds. Based on the phone call rhe manager is suppose to be calling to discuss an refund but no word yet. Sad that the company parasailing Catalina can't even do the right thing for the customers. I had 3 friend tell me about Parasail Catalina and finally they convinced me to go with them. We called and made a reservation at a hotel nearby, we were just going to make it a small vacation. The next day we were at the beach ready to sail! Parasail rather :) To make a long story short, this was really REALLY Fun! I figured that it would be pretty fun, but the people setting us up were great, got us to some really cool views and went Super Fast. You know I was expecting so much more of a rush when I signed my life away, but it was more relaxing than an adrenaline rush. But it was still fun, and we got some great photos out of it too :) From what I remember it set me back around $150 for my wife and I for about 5-7 minutes of being roughly 1500ft above the ocean. We purchased 4 tickets for parasailing and since it was foggy on the day we were scheduled to parasail, Parasail Catalina called us on our cell phone and advised us that the parasail was cancelled due to the fog. We appreciate that they consider our safety first and did not charge us for the 4 tickets!!! We will definitely go with this company in the future when we go back to Catalina Island. I was visiting the island this past weekend and we decided to make a last minute decision to go parasailing! It was one of the highlights of our weekend!
