Once u reach the top, very nice what more can be said really? the views are amazing, u can see the entire city from up there. As for the Basilica itself, it's very cool with plenty of mosaics designs & column's, inside the candles provide some light to the dimly lit interior. This was a great stop & for sure worth checking out, even if just for the outside views.

Note to self - Bring a bottle of wine and watch the sunset with the locals!…read more Quality/Quantity - The above is what the locals do. What a beautiful view. Too bad for my wife and I because the day we planned to do this, I booked last second reservations at Une Table au Sud, a Michelin Star restaurant; see my other Yelp review. Anyway, I hope my pictures do this place justice. Enjoy; better yet, go visit. Another plus was that we got our Marseille soap here which saved us a trip. 6 Euros for a pack of 4. We bought a few packs... BTW, this is the same price as if we went to the parent store. Ambiance - See my pictures. Pay toilets, I think 1 Euro. They accept credit cards. Restaurant available. Gift shop. Service - Self service. Price - Free, unless you need to use the toilets. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success and history.

This was my personal favorite landmark I visited during my time in Marseilles. Don't get wrong, I…read moreliked the more popular Notre Dame, but I liked the vibe here better. It's nowhere near as crowded and in my opinion, has more local flavor. This beautiful water reserve has a park on the upper level which is a bit interesting to walk around with remnants of a bizarre zoo. It has its own listing so I will reserve my thoughts for there: https://www.yelp.com/biz/parc-longchamp-marseille-2 After a dire water shortage in 1835 causing a cholera epidemic, this reservoir was completed in 1869 to assist in preventing such an event again. Also....buildings taking 30 years to build is unfathomable to me! Nowadays, this monument also houses the Museum of Fine Arts in one wing and the Natural History Museum in the other wing. And between the two sides, the château d'eau has awe inspiring architecture marked with details in every crevice. This castle of water is just wodnerful. I'm not gonna pretend that an adorable dog swimming in one of the fountains bumped this review from a 4 star to a 5. I love animals and he was so adorably carefree!
