I usually ain't a big sucker for touristic places and lakes don't really make my heart beat faster…read moreeither, but le Lac d'Annecy is a huge exception. This lake is just the most clear, pretty and awesome I've ever seen, especially with the stunning mountains in the back. There's a super romantic bridge, you can go for a walk or run next to it, sit in the grass or go swim or just read a book in the park while watching people walk by and the lake staying as pretty as it is. - Or you can also bike across the whole lake and visit the other cute villages nearby. But, an absolute recommendation is to rent a small boat (you don't need a license for that!), drive to the middle of the lake and swim. It's not the warmest lake as it's a glacier lake, but just do it.

Despite being a major skiing destination, France isn't really known for its alpine lakes, but Lake…read moreAnnecy is one of my favourite places in France. It's very accessible, and the town of Annecy is delightful: it's touristy, of course, but tourism hasn't spoiled it, and you can still eat and stay here at reasonable cost. Every turn of a street corner seems to open up a vista of the lake. The lake itself is lovely for both lakeside walks and boating (boat hire is available at several locations, as well as larger pleasure boat trips for those who don't want to row themselves) and the scenery is stunning. There are plenty of other lakeside villages to visit if you want somewhere quieter, and there are regular buses around the lakeside road.

What an amazing summer we had!…read more I'm a regular customer at GenevaBoats, as I spent at least 5-6 days with them this summer. We had an amazing time, the staff is amazing, it's top-tier service was delightful. They have an amazing fleet of boats for every occasion: We went fishing with a fully equipped boat, then water skiing with a specialised boat (and the skipper was actually an ex-swiss champion!), they showed us all of Geneva shores, the best spot to go swimming, etc... I can't be enthusiast enough about these guys: They are around 25 years old, always with a big smile and very polite! They can be really professional (they're Swiss), but they still took good care of the kids, helped us to take amazing pictures. The peak was probably in August when we rented a boat with them to see the famous Geneva firework from the lake: I was speechless! Hope these guys will have a good run, they deserve it! If you're looking for a good time in Geneva, it's a MUST!

Sometimes, walking around a beautiful Swiss city like Geneva gets tiring...like 10 miles of walking…read moreand I gotta take a break. Yes, I usually stop at cafes and bars for my second-wind, but sometimes, I have to check out the serenity of the local parks. This park is redic. Just look at my pics and wish that you, too, had an opportunity to get tired from gadding around Switzerland and chillaxin at this park. Be like Louis R, travel to Switzerland.

Yelp Review 2026 #177:…read more A park that's easy to get to. There's a tram stop right in front of this park. There's a cafe. There are people playing games like bocce ball. Unfortunately, it was pouring when we were here and it quickly turned to hail. If you've ever experienced getting hit by hail, you know it's not a pleasant experience. That dampened my mood. My sister wanted to see the Reformation Wall and her map kept giving her wrong directions exposing us to hail while I just wanted to stay under the protection of the trees. The map wanted us to get out of the park, walk uphill, enter a gate which is the entrance of the same park! So, stay inside the park and keep walking away from the main entrance and you'll find the Reformation Wall to your left. You can't miss is. It has bas-relief and giant statues of important Reformation leaders such as John Knox, John Calvin, etc. Was it worth getting pelted by hail? Not really. Did I spend money to see it? No. If the sun was out, I'd imagine myself enjoying this park.
