The old town of Gallipoli is a wonderful place to have a walk and some good food. Nice buildings, ocean views. What's not to like. But unless you're a resident or you have a permit then there's no driving into that old part of town. Which is good, less traffic for the visitors.
That means you drop the car outside. And this place here is a good option, a short walk from old town. Parking spaces are quite big and wide enough for an SUV. It's next to the Police Station, that means it's a safe spot. But be sure to pay the meter. Prices are quite low. But the system is a bit funny, you only enter the first three digits/letters of your license plate. Took us a while to figure out (all written in Italian only).
A good spot. Would park here again. On the main road all lots were taken, but here there were plenty available. read more
