This park is interesting if you're in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit it. There's not a lot to see and even less to do- there are some interactive components, but most of it is just viewing the sculptures. It is still very pretty, and I enjoyed being in nature. The paths are also well maintained and not very hilly or difficult to walk on. read more

Imagine yourself in the middle ages wanting to build an amusement park. What would it look like? This truly unique place is the answer to that question. Lots of mystery surrounds this place with respect to why it was created... A prince gone mad after the death of his wife? A snub at the church in a time when all art was religious? A megalomaniac's attempt at creating the 8th wonder of the world? None of the official stories are very solid, and all of these are possibilities based on what we know of the place. Either way, this place is absolutely amazing. Gigantic sculptures were carved by slaves out of the massive boulders that peppered this property. Ogres, elephants, soldiers, Poseidon, dragons, and even a leaning house. All of this in a beautiful park setting that is the perfect place to spend a lazy afternoon. If you are in the area, or happen to be travelling between Rome and Florence, this is a great side trip that you will never forget. read more
