My partner, our friends, family member, and I were fortunate to visit on a really clear, sunny day during our golf cart tour in September.  From the observation point on the western edge, the Terrace of the Pincio overlooks the Piazza del Popolo extending to the dome of St. Peter's Basilica, making a unique and stunning panorama in the world. Better late than never! ;) This small park is known for its panoramic view of St. Peter's Basilica dome and is located on Aventine Hill, right next to the Basilica di Santa Sabina (must see!) and nearby the Aventine Keyhole (see pics & video included in this review). IMO, I wouldn't make a trip solely to see this site but would definitely check out if you're already in the area since park is a nice spot to relax for a bit because it is shaded w/ tall orange trees and there are multiple benches located around the park for guests to enjoy. This is a small park on a hill that over looks Rome in the direction of the Vatican. You definitely…read moreneed a car to get up here and parking has to be paid for using a City of Rome parking app. The park is enclosed by a high wall and it is so quiet. Once you enter, the city noise is all but gone. As you approach the viewing terrace you can see the Vatican Basilica in the distance. The Basilica has the optical illusion effect of getting smaller the closer to the terrace you walk so check it out from the end of the walkway and watch it shrink as you walk toward it. There is one of the potable water fountains you'll find all over Rome here in the park. You can definitely refill you water bottle at any of these water fountains around town including this one. The park is a short walk from the 'Key hole'. You might see a line of people waiting there for a look and some days there is a food truck there as well.

The Gardens of Augustus are a beautiful little stop in Capri and definitely worth visiting for the…read moreviews. The gardens themselves are fairly small, with some nice flowers and landscaping, but the real highlight is the overlook. You get an amazing bird's-eye view of the cliffs, the water, the rock formations, and the southern side of the island. It's a great place to really appreciate just how dramatic and beautiful Capri is. It was pretty packed with people when we visited, so don't expect a quiet garden experience. There are some shaded areas that were very pleasant, especially on a hot day, but the areas out in the sun can get pretty hot. Overall, it's a relatively quick stop, but the views alone make it worthwhile. A beautiful place to take some pictures, enjoy the scenery, and get a different perspective of the island. Definitely recommend stopping by while you're in Capri.

It's an…read moreeasy walk from Piazza Umberto if you're already in town--or a bit more of a workout if you're making the climb from Marina Grande instead of taking the funicular. Either way, the effort is well worth it for the views. Originally created in the early 1900s by German industrialist Friedrich Alfred Krupp, the gardens are simply landscaped with colorful flowers, shady paths, and a handful of benches to sit and take it all in. Admission is inexpensive, unlike many other activities on the island. The gardens are famous for their stunning panoramic views of the iconic Faraglioni sea stacks, the dramatic sea cliffs, the turquoise waters of Marina Piccola, and the winding Via Krupp carved into the cliffs below. With several viewing platforms throughout the grounds, each stop offers a slightly different perspective--and every view is worth taking in. There's also the popular bar and lounge, Capri Rooftop, next door. It's a bit pricey, but with the heat and those incredible views, I honestly would've been happy to pay for a cold drink and a chance to relax if we hadn't been short on time. I would recommend pairing the two, especially on hot summer days! Simple, scenic, and worth the stop!

The park offers the Museo di Capodimonte, scenic panoramic views of the sea afar, and the cityscapes of Napoli surroundings. A great place for a walk, a run, a jog, or take your dog. Just outside it's easy to find pizza, a bar, bus stops. It's a fun ride downhill towards downtown and the significant churches with the catacombs. Good for the residents that live near this park.
