Whenever I go back to Germany and am staying at my dad's house in the pretty small town of Ibbenbüren, pure relaxation sets in. I eat my treasured childhood meals non-stop all day, laze around on the couch with the cat, go on hour-long bike rides through the country side fueled by the occasional pint in a Biergarten, have deep philosophical conversations with my dad over bottle after bottle of French wine (the conversations stop being deep at about bottle #3...) and just pretend that I have zero responsibilities in life.
Then I decide to go out for a night with old middle school friends and realize that I forgot my make-up, shampoo, perfume, etc. in good old America. In comes Parfümerie Douglas - my knight in shining packages that make me look human and smell good. They carry the most main stream brands, so don't come looking here for special items, but I always know they are reliable for the products I need. Prices are reasonable and oftentimes Douglas will have some sort of sale specials. Little knickknacks in the forms of angel-shaped soaps and glittery candles can make for a good last-minute addition to your Christmas gift shopping.
They also offer free gift wrapping and are amazing at that! I don't think I'll ever be able to make a gift look as good they do here. Staff is super friendly and knowledgable.
